Ok I will start with this: I will gladly revisit this place on a daily basis for their price and food quality and speedy service, especially if there is one near my work! They have seatings but we are just getting to go home. They are conveniently located on State Street not too far from the magnificent miles next to a couple good cafe/chocolate place, so to me this is happy land! We got the white rice base, bulgogi beef as protein, and all veggies plus the free seaweed. We got that ginger sauce. Their generous portion is sufficient for two person and their food is super fresh. We were fortunate enough to have this place across the street from our hotel. We needed something convenient and since we saw this place and were curious about it, we decided to order online. It was easy to place an order for 7 people. They are reasonably priced and worth every penny. The portions were large enough to split it with two people if you don't have a big appetite. It seemed like a small dine-in place with plenty of lighting coming in. We decided to grab the food to go to enjoy in the comfort of our hotel room. I wish they had one closer to home for me, which is Bay Area, California. Us Californians love our bowls and Korean food. Looking forward to having this again one day. Seoul Train has a kick but not very spicy. It bursts with flavor and has different textures. I loved it that I went twice on two different days. Service was great. On the two times I was here, the staff had been very nice and friendly. The place has limited seating. It only has 4 chairs in total with tables/ledge inside that are facing the street. Dropped in for lunch... Seo seo good! Food - 5/5 I got the Seoul Train and everything about it was perfect. It was full of flavour, yet healthy, had a kick, but wasn't too spicy, and the glass noodles were a perfect touch to blend everything together. I wasn't expecting it to be so good.. it was really good, yet simple at the same time. I also got some peach Korean soda and my god that was amazing I want another one right now lol. I honestly did not have high expectations coming here but I was pleasantly surprised! The food is so fresh and the protein is well seasoned. The bowls are amazingly portioned and I love how much you can customize your own or pick from their signature bowls. It's definitely not the most authentic or best Korean food you can have in the city. I was really excited to hear about a new Korean spot opening in the neighborhood. I wouldn't say the food is 100% authentic but still really tasty. They were out of a couple mains when I went at 8pm but staff did their best to accommodate. That being said, I really liked the bulgogi with sesamiso sauce. Came here on grand opening day!! This's their second location in Chicago, it's almost like chipotle but with Korean food! This place is gluten- free!!!! You can customize your own bowl by choosing purple rice, white rice, glass noodles, veggies, mixed greens or 1/2 and 1/2! You can then pick your own meat, toppings, sauces, and seasonings to go on top!! The Korean "drug" egg is a must !! We had the one on Michigan Ave a couple times, and we really like it!!!so I had to come to this one for their grand opening. They also have some Korean drinks you can purchase as well as some merch!! All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Definitely a great lunch spot if you work near by or just want to grab something quick! read more

Checked out Seoul Spice on grand opening day around 3pm. Loved learning the story behind the business and was super excited to try out their menu. While the line was long, it moved pretty quickly and the staff was doing a great job filling orders. On grand opening day all bowls were $5 which is a great deal, compared to regular menu prices around $14. My husband and I each got 2 bowls so we could try a variety of items: 1. Seoul Train 2. Southwest 3. Fireball 4. BYO- 1/2 purple rice, 1/2 glass noodle, bulgogi, all veggies (exc. carrots), creamy sriracha & cilantro-lime ranch, all the toppings Our favorites were the Seoul Train and Fireball! They were packed with flavor and super tasty. The space is small and don't believe they have space to dine in, so this location may be a takeout only. We'll definitely be back to try more bowls and can't wait for their next location to open in Wicker Park, hopefully by year end! read more

Delicious food, friendly and fast service, reasonably priced, clean and cute interior. Love the traditional Korean flavors with some modern twists. There's no seating at all inside though, so you'll have to take your food to-go. Highly recommend the "Seoul Train" bowl - it has all the Korean flavors I was craving but with a twist, like the kale slaw instead of spinach, crispy garlic, and creamy sriracha sauce. read more

So many people have been complimenting Seoul Spice that I wanted to give it another try - and this time at the longer-established location. I had the same bland experience as a vegetarian - maybe it's their proteins that are seasoned. Their sauces could certainly take more flavor, given their name claims to add "spice" to the food. read more

this food was good and fresh! i would say its very convenient for someone who wants a good lunch. We ended up paying over 30 dollars for our two bowls but thats with added avocado and an egg. I wouldn't recommend sitting in there because people just stare at you the whole time while walking by lol. overall would recommend eating here! read more

visited chicago for a weekend trip and was looking for a healthy + convenient option. when i learned it was build your own bowl, our group was convinced and we dined in at night. not only is the bowl fully customizable, but they're also very generous with portions! for the price paid, i felt it was very much worth it. on top of all of that, food tasted great. workers were friendly + welcoming and location is accessible. i will say indoor seating could be limited if busy (4 seats). overall recommend this place and would go again! read more

Food itself is good, but service was frustrating. I ordered two identical bowls in-store, and the beef portions were noticeably uneven -- one bowl got half the amount of the other. (One full spoon for one of them and half a spoon for the other). When I pointed it out and asked for a bit more to even it out, the staff member on shift refused and insisted the portions were standard, despite the visible difference. His attitude throughout was dismissive, disrespectful, and unhelpful. Won't be ordering again unless this gets addressed. read more
