The drinks I've tried from here have all been great and it's definitely cheaper than Starbucks. Staff has been nice so far although I noticed (depending on who's working) if you ask for something last minute or make innocent mistakes when ordering they get very upset & rude. One of the girls rolled her eyes at my husband a couple weeks ago because he accidentally forgot to order our drink with oat milk (can't have dairy) and tried waving the barista down to ask for it to be changed. Once she asked for the additional change we owed she said "next time honk!" All this attitude even after he was super polite about it. I understand that it may have been an annoyance to the staff but we were very nice and calm about the mistake and apologized. Also I'm pretty sure my drink was not made with oat milk considering I felt ill afterwards. We've gone plenty of times as well and I'm sure they've recognized us by now. I enjoyed the drinks a lot and I was shocked and disappointed by this behavior. Especially since we were slowly becoming regulars. I'm reminded of this situation every time we want to make a coffee run, it makes us think twice about ever returning now. read more

I think they poisoned my coffee. I asked for sugar free and the person seemed upset that even asked for anything at all. The coffee tastes very strange, and I can't drink it, and I'm having some strange burps and stomach upset now, and sick from just a few sips.. not sure how when this place gets such great reviews.. This is my first Yelp review and I'm glad it's for Liquid Bean! I wasn't sure what to expect because this is a really small place in Lancaster so I purchased the Yelp $5 for $10 deal and decided to check it out. I got the mocha blended coffee which is equivalent to a frappuccino from Starbucks. My friend ordered a raspberry and blackberry smoothie. I almost prefer the blended coffee from Liquid Bean over a frap from Starbucks because it actually contained coffee. However, I was mainly impressed with the smoothie, the one my friend ordered tasted incredible. I placed my order inside and received it very quickly. One of the girls seemed newer and not really sure how to do certain things but both girls who were working at the time were very nice and helpful. In my past experiences, places that have large menus sacrifice taste and quality... but this is better than a lot of cafes in LA, with reasonable prices. The iced Vietnamese Coffee here is authentic. I also had a beet, carrot, orange juice that was made fresh to order. Amazing. I wish there were more coffee shops like this in LA. My go to place for coffee. I no longer support SB and I've come to find out this place is much better. Their drinks actually taste like coffee and not like the drinks at SB that mainly taste sugary and milk/cream. I also love that they have 32oz drinks! I said "NO I don't want milk, I just want fruit." She added half of banana and then 1/4 of an apple. I asked her "What are you doing, I just want fruit."I told her to put the REST of the APPLE in. She didn't put the rest in, she said "I make this mix, usually I add milk, but you don't want milk." Once again, I asked what is that stuff, because all I want is fruit, I don't want it too sweet. She said "I'll make you some, you try." I tried a little bit and it tasted like super sweet Robitussin, no thank you. I told her no way, I just wanted a smoothie from fresh fruit, I had no idea she'd made it from concentrate. It was so gross, too sweet, too medicinal. I also ordered a sandwich and that was okay, but still.. it left me with my head shaking. I had always had smoothie from FRESH FRUIT, not this thick concentrated syrup stuff. Maybe their coffee drinks are better, I don't know. But DO NOT get the smoothie. Don't advertise your smoothies if you don't have real fruit. Just advertise as a coffee and sandwich place. Starbucks is overrated. This place is better! They're quick, reasonable prices, delicious brew of coffee. They're staff are consistently sweety and friendly. It truly is a special small business that one you try you'll treasure. It's conceniently located right off of the 14 freeway on the corner of 17th W and Ave K. There are two drive thru windows and or you can sit in the small but cozt inside or outside patio area. I've seen lots of amazing cold coffee beverages which I have yet to try but will once it gets warm outside again. I say treat yourself to GOOD coffee and support small businesses. read more

Just got breakfast from here and all I can say is "Starbucks who??" because even though this is further from my work, it's definitely better. I got three coffees and two sandwiches and added a 2$ tip all for 20$. Their prices are great for office coffee runs, and they have milk substitutes without charging you extra for them. I believe in supporting small businesses to help discourage big corporate-like chain stores from taking over. I've been coming to this place off and on for 10 years but recently it has really begin to disappoint me. The service is slow. Terribly SLOW!!!! I see the baristas chit-chatting as I'm waiting for my drink. They should realize that it's a drive thru and customers would probably rather not sit in the car any longer than they have to. Also, they act condescending when you're trying to order something new and aren't immediately familiar with the menu. I used to drive an extra block past the Starbucks to come to this place which I once considered a gem.
