Dr. Bodon is the best doctor I've ever had by a long shot. Before her I had seen numerous doctors that were either impossible to get appointments with, or who weren't really interested in fixing any of my underlying issues, particularly in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area. Then my wife recommended seeing Dr. Bodon, even though she's her gynecologist and I'm a dude. I took a chance because I was just generally frustrated with trying to find a general practitioner in the area, and it was definitely the best medical decision I've made, and Dr. Bodon was extremely accommodating (she sees all types of patients at her Donya Spa location). Since then I've had procedures at her at Donya Spa, and follow ups with her in both her Palm Springs and Palm Desert gynecologist offices. She is always friendly, thoughtful, and puts my concerns first; I cannot speak more highly of her. In 41 years she is the first doctor that I've ever had that actually cares and is willing to explore every avenue that can help. I've been seeing her for various reasons since May, and in only 5 months she's completely turned my health around. She makes me feel very comfortable every visit and it feels as if she has been my doctor for years. If I could give minus 0 I would. I read about how poorly her office is run but I experienced that myself due to making an appt to see a gynecologist who was able to see me sooner than later. I waited 1 1/2 hours in her office to be seen without anyone coming over to apologize for delay. Other patients that were waiting left as well. I finally left and asked to have Dr call me regarding my issue she never called so I called again and her office manager was rude and said she would call me back. Dr. Bodon *works* for Valley Urology, and for the most part, they treat her like crap, and treat her patients like crap. She doesn't have enough supplies or medical assistants, and her surgery time is routinely given to other doctors. DESPITE all this, she manages to do what just about all people have said is a truly outstanding job under exceedingly difficult circumstances. It is not her fault that the people who work for Valley Urology are apparently incompetent and/or malicious toward her patients and don't answer calls or return them. For many reasons, she cannot control this situation, change it, or leave it for now. If you've been able to meet her and have her care for you, you already know that the quality of her care is absolutely outstanding. In short - it's worth the hassle with Valley Urology to be able to see her. It would be nice if people would rate Dr. Bodon and Valley Urology *separately*. Such a frustrating experience. Trying to communicate with this doctor is like pulling teeth. I don't know where she gets her staff, but you will not find a more incompetent, lazy group of people. The kindest explanation is that they are just not very bright and were not born with any common sence. Don't bother calling or leaving a message. They will not talk with you even if you show up in person. I don't know how a doctor could be so oblivious unless she has followed suit with her staff and just does not care. Doctor Lisa Bodon has been my OB/GYN since 2005 and she delivered both my children at Desert regional. When I was having bladder issues I had a surgery and soon I will be having a hysterectomy. She is the best doctor I have ever had and I trust her with my life. She has a great bedside manner and she's super knowledgeable and she is able to put herself in any woman's position and try to understand what they are going through and she responds with kindness. If you're an OB/GYN patient DO NOT SCHEDULE! I informed the receptionist over the phone, in person, and her nurse why I scheduled my appt. No one informed me that Dr Bodon no longer sees OB/GYN patients. I waited 1.5 hrs at the office to see her just so she can tell me she can't treat me. They billed my insurance and I also received an out of pocket bill. They will schedule you, not help you and charge you. read more

I'm giving Dr. Bodon a 5 star. She just did my Robotic hysterectomy 3 days ago at Desert Medical Regional in Palm Springs and I have had no down time and no pain. It was a breeze. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for OB/GYN or family planning services. My experience with Dr. Bodon was horrible throughout and I wish I would have read reviews before moving forward with her. Dr. Bodon and her staff are negligent, careless, unorganized, and rude. I can only imagine how many patients they have harmed and to add insult to injury they are just so unacceptably unapologetic about it. I can understand that their office is overworked and over booked but if that is the case, they need to step back do an internal review because their current practices are obviously not working and the way they treat patience is having real time consequences on the health and life of their patients. Stop prioritizing money over patients and do better. I found Dr. Bodon through my insurance and gave them a call to make an appointment for a minor procedure that was already a year overdue due to the pandemic. I called Dr. Bodon's office in March od 2021, and the front of the office was immediately rude to me. I was so taken aback by the woman's tone. I never have these types of issues with businessed and really try to be amenable, but she just lacked total empathy. My questions were about how much the initial appointment would be and she told me that she could not tell me until they ran it through my insurance during the appointment, but she was much ruder than was needed. I was told I needed to come in for a consult before my minor procedure. I was able to get an appointment a month in advance. A few days before my appointment in April, I was called and told Dr. Bodon was getting a surgery and I needed to reschedule. I had no problem with this, but again the woman calling me was very rude. I had already requested time off for this appointment, which meant I was losing money and time off at work, but still I understand I was empathetic. I did not receive the same from them. I got another appointment in May. I get to my appointment and again the front of the office staff is cold but fine. I wait for the doctor close to an hour. I first spoke to an assistant once I was in the back who weighed me, took blood pressure, etc. It all took less than 5 minutes. She said Dr. Bodon would be with me soon. Dr. Bodon came in and I instantly could see she was rushed. She barely let me speak, wouldn't look me in the eyes, and just looked at my paperwork. I had questions, concerns, I had to stop her in her tracks to ask her about other forms of birth control and she looked thoroughly annoyed. This all took 2 minutes, but she wanted me to make my decision. I felt rushed but still made my decision under pressure. Dr. Bodon walked me to the front and asks one of the women in the front to file a request with my insurance. Everything was fine at this point. Then months pass. I call Dr. Bodon's office. The front of the office staff is still rude, cuts me off, I keep apologizing to get anywhere with them and am then told that my paperwork was never filed, and my request had never been sent. I began to develop really concerning side effects/pain and called them because of my concerns three more times. Same issue. Each time I apologize profusely for bothering to try to get any information. They had no empathy, care, information, or concern for me. I don't hear back from them, but I see that they charge me $400 for Dr. Bodon's two minutes months before. Finally, today, more than 5 months later I receive a call that the device I was interested in and that Dr. Bodon recommended was not available and that they could only proceed with the two devices I have no interest in. It's been infuriating beyond words, and I really concern for the woman that Dr. Bodon's office has treated this way. Part of me wonders if she treats non-white clients this way and forces them into certain forms of contraception, they are not comfortable with. Her office is not client-centered, trauma-informed, or culturally competent. I would never trust Dr. Bodon with my body or family planning options. Shame on her and her office. read more

I feel so lucky to have found her. She is wise, reflective, direct, and very kind. Intelligence and education is always hoped for in any doctor. The worst care ever! I was told I needed a hysterectomy which I did not need. I was told we had to rule out CANCER. Thank God, I did my research, which I recommend everyone do if they go see her and are told the same thing! After several lab works, an ultra-sound, and a painful biopsy performed by Dr. Boden (she forgot to give me pain medication before performing the biopsy) I went back for my consultation where I was able to ask any questions about my possible procedure. After Dr. Boden answered all of my questions and realized I had done my research she said I didn't really need to get this life-changing procedure! We went from almost scheduling a FULL not partial hysterectomy (which was not explained to me either) to nothing needed! I also received a surprise bill shortly over $350 that was not covered through my PPO insurance due to a billing error. I fought it for over a year. The worst part is I have an appointment to see a specialist this month and I have been trying to get a copy of my biopsy report for the last couple of months to no avail. No one returns your call. I left several messages for Tanya in the medical records. She has never picked up the phone. You just get a voicemail with no return call. The office staff is not polite. Clearly, Dr. Boden must know that sharing office space and telephone lines with Urologist is confusing for her patients. It is not clear where you are calling 760.346.1133 and there is no option for Dr. Boden. I have learned you have to select option #2 for "Pain management". Her staff makes her look unprofessional and there is no empathy from anyone in that office. Please do your research and if you were told you need a hysterectomy by Dr. Boden visit the Hers Foundation for assistance before getting this Life Changing procedure! read more

Dr Bodon is very sweet, patient, doesn't rush you and takes the time to answer most of your questions. But I do feel frustrated and disappointed that the HRT implant (at $400 a pop) didn't do anything to help my problems (stubborn af weight loss despite diet and working out to death, brain fog, crummy libido and energy/mood swings- ymmv) and when I asked if there's other options or if I'm just doomed to live like this, she just said "Okay then.." and left the room, ending our appointment. And while the ultrasound tech guy is really cool, he's like "You have giant cyst- bye!" w no additional information. I cried all the way home, not knowing if it was cancer, a time bomb or what- until my follow up appointment. A whole week later. That appointment was much better. But I'm still not clear on whether we're at a dead end for helping me hormonally or not- but problem at a time, I guess. While the in-person staff is pretty cool, the phone staff is a mess. You'll be on hold forever, given the runaround with them transferring you in circles or giving you wrong numbers to call- and some of them are hella rude. read more

She makes you feel like you are fully informed in what is going on with you and the baby through out the pregnancy and during delivery. And every one of her staff is amazing!! During my annual visit I brought up some things that were concerning me since I last saw Dr. Bodon. Long story short, this prompted her to perform a test that was not made known to me, nor did I consent to. I would not make a stink about this except for what happened after. During the visit I asked her and her billing team if everything being done today was to be billed to my insurance as part of my annual exam and they said yes and even stated that they verified everything. I hate surprise bills and always ask, and even check with my insurance ahead of time. Lo and behold I get a bill for $150+ for one of tests ordered. I called and was told to speak to Maria in billing. At first she seemed semi-helpful (she had a bad attitude though) and we established that this was not handled correctly and that she will work with Labcorp to reverse the charge. Ok cool. A few weeks later I get a bill from Labcorp AGAIN with a threat to send to collections if I don't pay. Maria is now not answering nor returning my calls. I've made many attempts. I will not go back to Dr. Bodon's office. I've waited many months for some resolution but I feel I must now share here. read more

I have nothing good to say. I went to Dr. Bodon for a D&C at Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs. She found a polyps and removed it to be tested for cancer. However the polyps was lost. Dr. Bodon blames the hospital and they say it was her fault. What makes me most upset is that Dr. Bodon told me to my face that she would investigate and get back to me the next day and she never did. I tried numerous times to contact her office to find out more information and I was lied to, misdirected, my calls were not returned and I was treated rudely every time. I never found out what happened to the polyps and there was zero followup care or compassion. Because, the polyps was "lost", I had to decide what to do next: have another D&C, do nothing or get a hysterectomy. Long story short, I had a hysterectomy because my family medical history had cancer. Thank goodness, I did not have cancer, but because Dr. Bodon lost my polyps and did nothing to help me afterwards, I ended up having a hysterectomy I did not need. If she had not lost the polyps, it would have been tested and revealed no cancer and therefore no hysterectomy needed. After, my D&C , I talked to Dr. Bodon about my numerous bad experiences with her staff and she admitted that things had been difficult since they moved to a new office. She knew I had been treated unprofessionally and rudely and she seemed sorry about that. And yet, she promised to call me and didn't. I will give one other example: I was told to go to the lab to get my pre-op tests and I would not need any paper orders. When, I got to the lab, there were no lab test orders for me. The lab called Dr. Bodon's office and they dropped the call; then they insisted I was not a patient; then they said there were no orders; then they would fax the orders; then they said they faxed them, but they were never received. If those tests were not done that day, I could not have the procedure the next day. I then called Dr. BODON'S OFFICE MYSELF and went through the same run around. I begged for help. Of course, I knew I was a patient and there were lab orders for me, but they kept insisting I was calling the wrong doctor or that I was confused. They finally got the lab orders and promised to fax them immediately. The lab was closing. I had been there for 3 hours. I stood by the fax machine and they did not come after 20 minutes. I called Dr. Bodon's office again and was told that the person who was going to fax them went home with a headache. Then, it took a while to find the orders again and then fax them. No one ever said they were sorry for my inconvenience or acted like they had any responsibility in this problem. This is a good example of my experience with Dr. Bodon's staff. Major run- around each time, rude, not helpful and utterly unorganized and seemingly not caring about the stress they created for me. I paid for a D&C to remove a polyps for testing. I feel Dr.Bodon's service was not completed and and it was incompasdionate and unprofessional to leave me hanging. I was under anthesia and I trusted her to operate on me and do this test. Something went wrong and to this day I don't know what happened. read more

I have been a "patient" of the medical system for years now with several chronic medical problems and can easily say I have PTSD after dealing with so many egotistical, rude and incompetent doctors. I expected the same from Dr. Bodon. I'm a high-risk pregnancy due to have my first child in January 2015. I went into my first appointment so incredibly anxious and stressed, but she ended up being very calm, knowledgeable and comforting. She never dismissed any of my concerns, made me feel rushed nor denied any requests I had for testing. I am still nervous every time I go to my appointments, thinking "this time will be different" but she's been consistently excellent in bedside manner and expertise. She has no qualms about admitting when something is beyond her scope of expertise and won't pretend to have all the answers if she doesn't - this is so important when it comes to a doctor because I've had people blatantly make stuff up thinking I wouldn't know any better and it is scary that people can and will put you in medical danger because of ego. She has been a blessing so far. I am currently 28 weeks and have seen her about once a month since the beginning. I'll post an update after delivery, but because of Dr. Bodon my pregnancy has been much less stressful and I feel confident about birthing. And even though I think she only works in the Rancho Mirage office now, I LOVE the ultrasound tech at Las Palmas! She's smart, funny and so incredibly sweet - does her job well and quickly. read more

I had been suffering from heavy bleeding for quite some time so I went to see Dr. Bodon and discovered I had a huge fibroid tumor and needed a complete hysterectomy. Dr. Bodon did the procedure using the Da Vinci Robot. I had minimal pain and absolutely no complications. I was back to work within two weeks.
