I've been looking for a place to get my hair cut for months because my hair being long and thick, I wanted to get a short pixie cut. I had made 2 different appointments at other shops but canceled because I chickened out. So, after watching that featured video about Revelry by Queer Compass, I made an appointment right away - it felt right! I met with Ashley for a hair cut and style. She'd did a phenomenal job! I'm very happy with the results. I also found Ashley to be a friendly and a professional stylist, easy to talk with. She listened to what I wanted. She even offered if I wanted her to use scissors, razor, clippers? No stylist has ever asked me that! Refreshing! Bonus: I got to cuddle with her fur kid! Love! I highly recommend Revelry and Ashley. Five stars!

Anyway, I see Marina and she is awesome. I highly recommend her. Revelry also does walk-ins and everyone is friendly. My former hairdresser retired from the hair business a few years back, and it took me awhile to get around to finding another place to go get my mane dealt with. I was looking for a queer friendly place, most importantly, but I was also looking for someone who is good with curly/wavy hair types like mine, and someone who is both a stylist and barber so I can finally wear my hair in more gender affirming ways. All of this is what brought me to Revelry, and I've been very happy with my services from them. Marina uses the Vagaro app, and that has taken some getting used to but it is soooo convenient to be able to just go in there and schedule a day and time that works for me. She does weekday evenings so I can come in after work too! I usually get either a shave or a shave and a layered cut for the half of my head with longer hair. Maybe thinking of changing up my look soon, but I also love wearing my hair this way. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and professionalism. I can't recommend Revelry highly enough.

Booking, canceling, and changing appointments are so easy--all online. The barbers/stylists are quite the mix. Some are permanent fixtures, while others come and go like any business. I recently found a new barber here, HENRY. He is phenomenal. Although I am nearly bald, I get a h/c about every 2 weeks, and I don't mind paying full price, given Henry's superb attention to detail. He makes me feel like I've had a spa day makeover! While other guys just buzzed my head and used a trimmer on the back (stylists can't use a straight razor, I've learned), Henry is an experienced, pro barber. He attends to the littlest of hairs, examining every angle of my head. He attends to my ears, brow, skin (always moisturizes my scalp), and uses a razor to make the neckline stellar. He wraps it up with a light aftershave thing that leaves me feeling refreshed! It's the details that set apart a good haircut from a truly exceptional one. Plus, did I mention what a great guy he is? Having lived abroad, being from the Midwest, and being college-educated, he's a joy to talk to. Suggestions: The place could use a makeover. It isn't an easy color to get just right but I absolutely love how it turned out! I wanted it to be mostly a natural looking color with subtle pink highlights and he did an excellent job weaving them in. I love my hair!
