I would have loved to give Knickerbocker a positive review. Initial calls with Eric were great. He…read morewas super responsive and even though there were some challenges (drove to the middle of nowhere New Jersey to drop my car) it was a reasonable price compared to others. Issues were threefold: - Eric basically represented and used a facility that does its own direct auto transport. When questioned (because they were cheaper) he highlighted his business as better due to a number of factors. None of these ended up coming to fruition. - the Rando he got to transport my car was horrible. Lack of communication or updates. Ended up delivering the car two or three days later than promised (meaning I missed being able to inspect the car). And throughout the process was full of lies regarding arrival time and why he wasn't delivering on time. - car was damaged during transport but because I was out of town for 2 months after the fact and wasn't able to confirm and share this with Eric (because it was delivered late) I had no recourse for costs to fix the damage. - finally, In reviewing his end of year books, Eric got confused about a voided transaction (I had been charged twice initially and there was a void in his books). He assumed that it was me doing it due to my dissatisfaction and charged my credit card again without confirming the issue with me. He left messages while I was in a meeting and then charged my card without confirming. When I called, he apologized for his angry action but for someone who highlights professionalism amongst his traits, I feel this was way out of line. I was going to just leave things as is and not write a review and leave things as they were in August but given the action he took today I felt compelled to warn others.

They were initially supposed to pick the car up on Friday, and I had called ahead to confirm that the driver would be there between noon and 4PM, but when they never showed up, I was told "there is shortage of drivers on the route since most of the drivers are on hold for their DOT inspection which is ending on Saturday.". At which point he promised me it would be picked up by Monday. On Monday morning, I was then told "As there is currently a very high demand of the vehicle on this route, driver availability is extremely limited. Because of this, the carriers that are operating are increasing their rates due to market demand. The driver we secured is asking for $2,125 to get the job done.", which was nearly 3x the price they initially quoted me. I elected to cancel the job and request a refund since this is clearly a fraudulent business. They claim they will refund my money in 3-4 business days, so I will update this review if that ever happens.

Just like…read moreeveryone else I was assured a certain low price that was doubled on pickup day.. not to mention it was delayed an extra day. Only didn't cancel because I was in a tough spot and didn't want to pay the bogus cancellation fee. Didn't even hear from the broker til I reached out to him which was less than 24 hours from the original pick up time. Unprofessional Transparency is nonexistent. Ended up paying what the market rate was for the service but why advertise a low price you know you can't honor? To lock you in a predatory contract that's why. Very hard to reach as well. The driver who I was speaking with that was supposed to take my car wasn't even the one who showed up. Instead it was someone whose English wasn't great and I had no way to contact until the delivery day. Xavier and Mark got one over on me. Save yourself the time and trouble because you won't save any money.

I am filing a complaint against Ship Auto Now LLC regarding deceptive business practices and…read moreinterference with my efforts ship my vehicle. May 2026, I contracted with Ship Auto Now LLC and worked with broker James Brown to arrange transportation for my truck. Mr. Brown quoted me a shipping price of $1,150, which was within my budget. However, after 12 days, he was unable to locate a driver willing to transport at that price. Because of the delay, I requested a refund of my deposit so I could work with another transportation company. Mr. Brown became upset and stated that I would receive my refund within 3-4 business days. During that same conversation, he told me he would place an alert on my truck so that no driver would accept it from another company. I did receive my refund, but after I began working with another auto transport company, I discovered that on May 29, 2026--the same day I requested the refund--Ship Auto Now LLC posted my truck on the industry load board for $2,500 under Ship Auto Now LLC's name. The posting included my truck information, origin and destination pickup of June 12, 2026 or later. I have screenshots of the load board posting as evidence. This posting directly contradicts the $1,150 quote I was originally given. It appears that the company knew the actual market rate was approximately $2,500 and still quoted an unrealistically low price to secure my business. Furthermore, the load board posting remained active after I terminated my agreement and requested a refund, creating obstacles for other brokers attempting to arrange transportation for my vehicle. I believe Ship Auto Now LLC engaged in misleading pricing practices and intentionally interfered with my ability to obtain transportation services from another company. I request that BBB investigate this matter and hold the company accountable for these actions. Supporting documentation, including screenshots of the load board posting dated May 29, 2026, is available upon request.

Bait-and-switch pricing, broken guarantees, zero accountability…read more Quoted $400 Chicago suburb to Nashville; when booking, price jumped to $700. After I pushed back, they "secured" $550 on the condition of guaranteed same day pickup and next-day delivery by noon. Contract initially said "estimated" dates; I insisted on guarantees. They removed "estimated" and resent for signature. Vehicle pick up, the carrier arrived within two hours after the contract was signed. However, vehicle was to be delivered by noon next day (Saturday). Did not arrive until 7am the following Tuesday. The guaranteed delivery time came and went. I spent three days texting between the broker, a non-English-speaking carrier, and a third-party translator/carrier office manager. Ship Auto Now (Broker) blamed the carrier; carrier blamed the broker. Lots of excuses, no ownership. No effort to make it right--no discount, no accountability. Bottom line: I do not recommend Ship Auto Now. In my experience, they engaged in bait-and-switch pricing, made guarantees they didn't honor, and refused to take responsibility.

I thought that I should continue to shop around in search of a better price (also recommended when you are new to these services). This is my first time moving to another state and was not sure of the pricing structure. I have also learned that these companies operate as Brokers and use 3rd party movers. A good majority of them are not trustworthy. After learning that the quote USA Auto provided was most reasonable, I called back ready to book. I ended up speaking to a different agent who quoted me $200 LESS than the original Broker. Again, I was more than ready to book. But then the new agent learned of my original quote with his colleague and ended our call to speak with his partner. They original agent called me back telling me that the COMPANY cannot honor the lesser quote and that I am free to take my business elsewhere!! UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL! How is it that the same company quoted 2 different amounts and refused to honor the lesser? WHY? Because they are greedy and do not care to do honest business. One may say that $200 is not a big deal, but when a company is willing to throw your business away because they refuse to accommodate a customer then I was left with no choice but to go elsewhere! DO BETTER!

She offered to refund the $200 extra that I had to pay, which changed my review from 1/5 to 3/5 thanks to the considerate phone call and the refund. Review: I had a very unprofessional experience. The yelp reviews all seemed good and that's why I picked this company, but it was a bad experience that cost me time and money. I spoke with Kathleen who helped me set up the everything smoothly and I was given a "guaranteed quote" to transport my car from Long Island out west. I gave her a 4 day pick up window trying to ensure the pick up happens before I have to take my flight out. She said that sounds good and they would pick it up within that time range. After calls throughout the week, they finally told me one day before my flight (this was the last day of the pickup time range) that I would need to drop off my car to New Jersey (which is a 2-hour drive) and that it would cost $200 more to ship it. At this point, I had no choice but to agree with them. It was absolutely ridiculous to make me do 5-10% of the moving and to then increase the cost by $200 (or roughly 20%). The only positive was getting my car in 7 days, the driver was good.
