had taken a antiques german wall clock in to be cleaned and serviced. They had the clock for an extended period of time like 2months or more. The clock has never functioned correctly since. unable to wind more than a turn or 2 at best. and then it would stop after a very short period of time (just a few hours) this is an 8 day clock. after a few years of not knowing what to do or who to get to work on it I was able to local another clockmaker. He was more than willing to fix it. I have now been informed that the clock only had oil sprayed on everything and nothing else was done. I was sent pictures of the oil just smeared all over the gears. it is totally disgusting. for what I paid to have this work done I was totally ripped off. If I could put a minus score I would. I would never recommend this business to anyone. if you value your time piece please find another clock maker to do the work. read more

I brought 5 Seiko watches in for repair; none were running. Two of the watches had some corrosion in the movements and he was unable to find replacements. He does not rebuild movements, which is certainly his choice. No biggie. The other 3 required batteries/capacitor and were repaired. One of the watches is 28 years old and has needed a battery for years but I neglected it. He got it working with some extra work for the simple cost of a new battery. The solar watch needed a battery and then needed the contacts cleaned. He kept it running to monitor its accuracy and called me when he was satisfied it worked correctly. Certainly, I was bummed to find out 2 watches couldn't be repaired here, but I'm the one who didn't maintain them properly. And I am thankful he got the other 3 watches working. My first experience with Lititz Watch & Jewelry was to fix a minor issue with my wife's Skagen watch. The repair was successful and very reasonably priced. I then used LW&J to clean and service a rare and vintage Seiko watch. They did a great job. After this I designed a custom pocket watch to wristwatch conversion. I purchased all the parts myself, but there was some tedious custom work that needed to be done, as well as regular service. The price was fair, and the work was done well. I intend to have them create another custom watch for me in the near future. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. I will continue to use them to service my watch collection. They also have a great selection of watches from several manufacturers. I always find at least three of four other items I'd love to buy. read more

I brought a Rolex in that I had purchased used for a routine service and regulation since it was gaining a few seconds a day. I was told that it was missing parts (part of bezel mechanism), had internal damage, and a cracked crystal. It took over a month for them to get back to me with this information. It was quoted over $1,000 for the repair. Contacted the seller and and he offered to pay for anything that a Rolex shop could find wrong with the watch as he believed the watch was nearly perfect (it appeared that way to me) and the seller was known to me. Took it to an authorized Rolex repair facility. Was told the the crystal was brand new with no chips, the bezel mechanism was perfect, the watch was in nearly mint shape, and it only needed a minor regulation (done free of charge). This whole process took two days. The watch keeps perfect time now. I am not a watch expert, but I didn't believe them when they told me about the issues. I am glad I only paid the $100+ appraisal fee instead of the $1,000 plus repair bill. I won't be going back to Lititz Watch. Rolex authorized service may cost a bit more, but the trust is there. And this adjustment was done free of charge as a goodwill gesture even though I was not the original purchaser. My first negative review and I don't like leaving it, but I feel I was very close to being ripped off. read more

I'm definitely not one to normally leave reviews, but I just had to for this place. One afternoon, while walking my kids home from school, I stopped in with, what I had thought, was a very cool, old "wind up" watch, that had a clear glass bezel (back plate), allowing one to see all of the complex little inner workings of the watch, when it was running.. Somebody had taken a lot of time to hand make this watch out of parts of other watches and I managed to pick it up for $5 at Roots Market. Unfortunately, it wasn't keeping time properly, so I stopped in one day, while walking my kids home from school. After being briefly "greeted" (sized up), as if our patronage was disturbing them from the really important happenings that happen in a clock repair shop, all three people went right back to whatever they were talking about/doing... after standing at the counter for a few minutes, watch in hand, in my abysmal idiocy, I, ignorantly & rudely, excused myself, and asked for someone's assistance. I then showed him the watch and asked if there was any way to fix it, possibly, by replacing the spring... The clerk acting annoyed for my having the nerve to pull him away from his of coffee 'n convo with his coworker, once at the counter, he took, what was a thinly veiled, obvious, & intentionally harder look @ me than at the watch, he then proceeded to "manxplain" to me all of the reasons why it was "beyond hope"... to say that I was "spoken down to" would be a gross understatement. Making me feel very foolish, he attempted "explain" to me, the way one would speak to a child, how the issue couldn't possibly be the spring... DUH... "that it was likely the 'gems', or one of a few other possibilities, none of them fixable..." I should have known that questioning his answers wouldn't have helped, from the look on his face, in his mind, there was never even a possibility that I could have had even a basic understanding of how watches work... Needless to say, I left pissed off and never went back. It really makes one wonder how a small business could survive with that level of incompetence and/or lack of customer service... The place is also expensive, which sucks as much as the people working there that day... read more

I took my dirty, filthy, painted-over, beat up grandmother floor clock to get refinished last month and WOW, I wish I had a before and after picture to share with you. Ed did an incredible job! It was done in a shorter time than he predicted and it cost a little more than I had anticipated but it was worth every penny. I go to the National Clock & Watch Museum in Columbia because of my fascination with time pieces and Ed did a job of museum heirloom quality. I couldn't believe my clock could ever look that beautiful again. read more

if I could I would give Lititz watch a minus five. after moving to a different apartment , my grandmothers clock would not run. contacted Lititz watch and was told it needs a good cleaning, for which they came to my apartment, cleaned and serviced the clock, which cost 176.00 dollars. 30 days later, the clock stopped working , contacted Lititz watch again, and was told the clock needs a new movement, and would cost 900.00 dollars. needless to say the clock now just sets in my living room , not running. avoid this company ! read more

Manger was rude to customer when politely asking to make public aware of holiday hours on voice message of business phone rather than having customers coming to the business to see note on the door that they were closed. There was also no notice of hours changed for the holiday's on website. They did not care who they inconvenienced. Manager copped an attitude with customer even when customer was willing to give them the business of a repair of a clock, but manager was condescending in his tone saying that he was entitled to have off to spend time with family. Customer expressed that the point was all about notification of their hours on the business phone and website. Owner later came into conversation but did not provide any satisfaction to customer. Manager stated he apologized but this was denied by customer saying that he did not, only implied it in his defense when speaking to the owner, after interrupting customer's conversation to owner. I would highly caution anyone wanting to do business here. I would avoid them and seek another business to help you, they simply do not care who they inconvenience. read more
