The server was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! We tried the egg rolls (4 large rolls) and tempura mix for appetizers. It was the best tempura mix I've eaten: piping hot, crisp coating, good taste and lots of different vegetables. We had three fried rice: one with pork, one with chicken and a spicy basil with tofu. I took my niece there for her birthday lunch. We ordered 2 lunch specials one soda and water. I ordered an extra lunch special to go for my husband. I think we ordered an appetizer also. First of all it took forever to get acknowledged and get seated. The waitress was a new employee and had some issues answering questions about menu options. My niece received her food about 10 minutes after mine and it was not exactly what she had ordered. The waitress went to the kitchen, which was visible from our table. My niece started to cry and when I asked what was wrong she said the cook was yelling at the waitress. My niece was very distressed over this. She came back to our table and said there was nothing she could do so I requested to speak with the manager, who is also the owner. The owner came over to our table and also said there was nothing she could do. My niece asked if the incorrect item could be returned to the kitchen and the cost removed from the bill, the owners response was again no. The owner was rude and disrespectful as she stood there with her hands in her pants pockets not caring at all that her customers were unhappy. We felt so bad for the waitress as she tried her best to help correct the issue and was treated so poorly. To make matters worse the food we did eat wasn't very good and was expensive. Three LUNCH specials, an appetizer and one soda with tip was about $75.00. This was one of the worst eating out experiences I have ever had and not a very fun birthday outing for my niece. The food was good, but not worth the wait. Starting at 5-stars and then working down... We waited at the front counter for almost 30 minutes. At no time did any staff greet us (or the others waiting), apologize for the delay, nothing. (minus 1 star) A staff member finally came out, asked the party in front of us how many, as well as how many in our party... ok, come. Sat us at a booth with menus and left. More than 30 minutes passed with no further contact from any staff. (minus another star). Finally a young busboy brought over a few glasses of ice water. 10-15 minutes later a server came and took the order. A long wait for the food (another 20-25 minutes), but Thai food is fresh made, so this was expected. The server brought 2 of the 3 main courses out, but left my son without his food for another 10 minutes. (minus a 3rd star). The food was good - tasty and a good temperature. Not huge servings, but not too small either. After finishing eating, napkins on top of the plates, we had to try for 15 minutes to get the attention of a server to get our bill. (minus a 4th star) A 4% "non-cash" surcharge was pre-added to the bill, with a note they would remove if paying in cash. Fearing another 30 minute delay if we attempted to use a credit card, we paid cash and left. All in all, a roughly 2 hour experience! Never any acknowledgement of the delays, thanks for our patience, nothing. The attitude felt like they were doing US a favor by allowing us into their restaurant. read more

Overall food here is good. I was disappointed that I paid $3 to have shrimp added to my Tom Yum soup and literally received 3 small shrimp in the soup. Beautiful place with a nice friendly staff who do a great job. If you want a nice peaceful and quiet sit down meal with loved ones, this is an amazing place to have it. There is so much space and there is so much beauty and quiet. I want to emphasize that I love this place because they don't play any of their music and there is nothing but just you talking to your family or friends or loved one. Many places I go to I get really bothered because the music is not what I like plus it's too loud so I can't hear myself. Sometimes I just wanna eat and quiet and silence. If you go into the bathroom, it's also very pleasant. They had this really nice aroma in there and you should see my picture of what it is. It's a Hawaiian salt and citrus diffuser and it was just amazing the smell. The bathroom was so clean and it had three sink stations with soap and no touch towel bars. And they're also about four stalls which is a lot for a bathroom. There was also a nice little piece of furniture in the bathroom. On the way to the bathroom there are some really beautiful Asian and Thai Art that I couldn't help looking at the details of how colorful and how wonderful they Were. The food was delightful and the presentation was beautiful. But I found my Drunken Noodle dish to be a bit salty and still very spicy without added jalapeños that the waiter asked for me. There were still lots of chili pepper tidbits and the hot seeds all over and I had to pick it out individually bc it was too hot for me. Would have been nice to make it mild but this was their version of mild. ouch. I will a voice the drunken noodles next time even tho the veges were good and fresh. I love to be able to look out the window from my questioned and comfortable booth to see the bridge to Grand Forks North Dakota. The parking is also very easy as there are two sides to parking to this restaurant near the big restaurants in this area such as blue Moose. This was such a pleasant experience I will definitely go back again and my friend told me about this place and she says she's here at least once a month or more because she already lives downtown I love this place. I ignored a lot of reviews warning people not to go to go here, I'm hoping with this review someone will learn not to be like me and will choose not to go here. As soon as my husband and I had walked in the host already had dirty glares and clearly wasn't happy to be there, wasn't a great start, still not sure what her problem was. When sat down, I ordered the Thai tea. It was god awfully sweet. Like the candy man himself puked into a cup added some milk and called it a day, and for some unknown reason this place sweetens it more with whip cream on top? Very strange and not traditional Thai at all. Next was the appetizer, I got the spring rolls and to be honest a toddler could have made these spring rolls with playdoh and had so much more flavor. There wasn't ANY seasoning or flavor to it. NONE. I feel like I can't be clear enough, the whole experience was like chewing on a rubber glove filled with random vegetables. They put sauce on the side though so you may think everything would be okay- that is where you're wrong. The appetizer comes with two sauces, an orange one and a brown one; the orange one, when combined with the spring rolls tastes like chlorine water. The brown one tastes like the wet rag used to clean up wine that was spilled behind a fridge and sat for a year. Now we get to the entrees, my husband got the pad Thai, I got the green curry. The pad Thai tasted like it was flavored with ketchup and cheap barbecue sauce, it had tiny pieces of rubbery chicken hidden throughout it but definitely not enough to label it a chicken entree. The curry was so unsettling. I like to consider myself well traveled, I've been to lots of countries, tried lots of different foods and cultures, and never in my life have I ever seen peas in curry. The taste wasn't really anything, nothing to write home about nothing to write Yelp about. HOWEVER, it did come with a side of rice, round one my rice came out and it had a hair in it. Yuck! Lol I tried to order an alcoholic drink and they didn't have peach puree for the peaches and cream so I ordered a mojito and they didnt have mint. I don't drink often so I was just trying to have a drink since I'm not driving but it wasn't meant to be. It's ok. I have a headache anyway and will stick to the coke. I ordered the #2 lunch special with pad thai and vegetable roll. The pad thai was pretty good and flavorful but a bit oily from what I'm used to. I got it with veggies and liked the added texture and flavor to the dish. The veggie roll was ok, nothing special, and the rice was a bit sticky and dry. I ordered the foods to go on 6/6/2021 (saturday) and one of them their Pad Thai had problems. All the noodles were broken into pieces. It was not just overcooked but tasted like porridge. Also, there was no taste; so it was like not having any taste, like flat. First, I spoke to staff there and they asked me to bring the foods back without valuing my time. I spoke to the owner, and she promised to refund my money for the Pad Tahi. According to her, that day, noodle condition was not good. If the quality doesn't meet the standard, they shouldn't have served the food. Regardless of the condition of the noodle, she didn't explain the taste part. More surprisingly, while having a conversation, she even raised her voice like yelling at me. I was very surprised this morning again. That is because even after 10 days, I haven't received my refund. The owner said she would process the refund the following Monday and it usually takes about 5 business day. I just contacted them through webpage message. Even their webpage has a black background color with black input (writing) color and don't allow customers to see/read our own inputs. I succeed in submitting my message (how? I used a notepad to write so that I can read my own writing and then copied and pasted the message; to me, it is interpreted they prevent us to submit our message through webpage) I still have the pad thai in my refrigerator (as evidence) and a receipt. I hope I don't bring the food back today to the restaurant. They need to serve the food with at least an okay quality and need to improve customer service. read more

Let me begin by saying I did come in around 8:30 and they closed at 9... so I take responsibility for part of the experience. I was greeted promptly but the seating was limited because they closed the booth sections. I was seated and it felt like almost 10 minutes before the server showed up... fortunately with a glass of water. I ordered based on the recommendation of the waiter... the Spicy Pad Thai... which came with either a miso soup or a salad with ginger dressing. The salad was much to desired and the waiter recommended the salad over the soup. When the food arrived, I requested something to spice the meal without even trying it, just to speed up the process. Awesome decision on my part because I believe the waiter forgot as I saw him walking around chatting with his colleagues. After about 5 minutes he must have remembered and brought some chili sauce. I had already consumed half my meal... There was no apologies to be had. He didn't even ask how everything was. I basically finished my meal and waited for about 5 minutes before he showed up again. Come on man... there are hardly any tables in here... at least try to show you care enough for a decent tip. Portions were on the smaller side for the entree/rice combos. But the flavor was amazing!!!! Pad Thai didnt look like it had flavor, but it was bomb! The bulgogi was lackluster at best hardly any flavor the meet was tender however it wasn't by any stretch of the imagination true Korean barbecue. It was sitting in a clear-ish kind of bra off with what appeared to be steamed veg not stir fried. I got the stirfry noodles I am they were just plain greasy no seer or char at all. Lettuce wraps were also disappointing. They were served with romaine lettuce which doesn't work too well -and the meat mixture was some sort of curry fluorescent yellow and the sauce was some kind of sesame dressing which I did not care for. Now, we showed up and there was a great sign on the door "Monday's - Dollar Sushi Night." WHAT?! What does this mean? We were promptly seated, handed a quarter slip of paper with the $1 Sushi Selection (as pictured). The actual handrolls come with 2 pieces, there are an assortment nigiris, tempuras and teriyakis as well. Our first round was (as pictured) egg rolls, California roll, JB roll, Crunch Salmon roll, edamames and salmon tempura. Overall, exceeded expectations for $1. We also ordered tofu pad Thai and it was significantly better than I expected. Again. Why hasn't I heard of this place before. Finally for dessert, we barely made it through a quarter of the mango sticky rice, which was garnished with black and toasted sesame seeds. All of this for $19.38. 2/2 would return. read more

Like many restaurants little Bangkok has a "please wait to be seated "podium. I arrived in an early time, about 515, though there are lots of problems another weekend events so several tables were taken. There were tables available however and no line. I waited for five minutes at the podium and though the sushi bar attendant and a bus boy saw me, no one seated me. So I left and can't comment on the food. Not a great experience. read more

I've ate here a 100 times probably, and my opinion of the joint has gone from great to average as I've been to other places in large cities. The good: Service has always been good. The fried rolls are pretty good. The entrees are average; my favorite became the pineapple fried rice, which actually has more of a curry flavor, but I still like it. They deliver! Which is awesome, but they do charge. The bad: what separates Little Bangkok from great places is the attention to detail: entrees are good but not especially flavorful; raw fish is it exactly what you expect in ND (tough and more fishy), I love nigiri but I will not order any raw fish in the Dakotas anymore,I've been disappointed time and time again. Sushi rice is too vinegary to me. The building is also getting a bit run down and it's dirty--a glass- panned door greats you when you walk in and it doesn't look like it's been cleaned in years (see pictures). Parts of the wall have the paint chipped off and and gouges in the dry wall. There is a difference between a "hole in the wall joint" and a run down building, but over the years it's been edging closer to the latter. Word is that the local management is malignant, which could explain this. I can also attest to this since I worked here a few years ago. The bottom line: Little Bangkok offers decent food in grand forks, but those that have been around will be delighted when they get to a fresh sushi joint out of town. read more

I ordered carry out from Little Bangkok today. I've eaten carry out here a few times with no problem. Today, I ordered Chicken Thai Fried Rice. The fried rice costs $14.05 after tax, not a horrible price, but not the cheapest either. The meal was bland and disappointing, but that wasn't the worst part! 2 hours after eating my meal, I started to feel sick. For the next 45 minutes, I was in and out of the bathroom, if u know what I mean. I'm not typically one to complain about my food, but $14 for food that made me sick is unacceptable. So, I called and asked to speak to a manager. I told him I wanted a refund because the food I ordered made me sick. He put me on with the owner and she asked me what the problem was. I explained to her what happened and that I simply wanted a refund. She refused to accept that her food was the problem. She told me, "That's simply not possible." She persisted to tell me that I can go to the hospital and she would pay my medical bills to prove her point, that the food wasn't the problem. Further belittling me. If you're looking for some tasty morsels from the Far East, this is worth the stop. Being a Grand Forks native I can say without a doubt that this is the best place for sushi in a 70 mile radius. The experience begins with either soup or salad. Definitely go with the salad. The ginger dressing will piss you off because you'll constantly crave it afterwards. If your not feeling sushi, try the rice or noodle dishes. They will fill the void in your life left by a constant barrage of Midwest food.
