[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such a cute little coffee shop located within the same parking lot as the Potomac Ridge brewery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We decided to stop I'm for an afternoon pick me up and we're so glad that we did. We both ordered iced lattes to help cool down on a warm afternoon. Had we not just ate a massive lunch, we would've certainly purchased one or two of the baked goods from the clear case by the register. They had so many mouthwatering flavors of cookies including lemon blueberry. Our lattes were creamy and extremely aesthetically pleasing. The espresso was bold, but not overpowering or bitter. The staff greeted us as soon as we entered and were so fast to prepare our order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is small with no indoor seating, but they do have a few picnic tables out back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This gem just opened and is going gang busters in the way of coffee and fresh bakery items. Stopped in today to get a cup of coffee and with so many choices I had to step out of line to take it all in before ordering. I settled on the Mocha Latte, Espresso, Chocolate Sauce, Steamed Milk, no cream. It was made quick and served up with such a wonderful aroma I felt as if Juan Valdez set up shop out back harvesting and roasting beans. The atmosphere is bright, clean and inviting with two of the nicest baristas you will ever find. They serve up baked goods, snacks, chocolates, and even have a little container of treats for all the four legged friends that stop by. Don't drive by here without stopping to get a delicious beverage, muffin, scone, lemon bar or brownie. Make any selection you'd like, you can't go wrong by stopping here. Will be back to update my review as I drink and taste my way through there expansive menu. Fast friendly service - I like it!

service was amazing, run by sweet young adults. a very quaint adorable place with not much seating but a lot of love in the ambiance. the food was pretty good and we got a lemon loaf too. the pastries seem to be a little more appealing than the oatmeal as it was on the sweeter end but overall, highly recommend. i am a barista and could tell the espresso was perfectly dialed in.

Such a great asset to our community, conveniently located between Sharpsburg and Shepherdstown, and just off the C&O Canal.

I'm not usually a huge ice cream person, but it felt like the perfect way to honor her. The shop itself was bright, clean, and welcoming, with several people already enjoying their treats. We grabbed a high table by the front window, which made for some great people-watching while we indulged. The menu immediately caught my eye. The range of flavors wasn't just broad--it was creative, unique, and full of options you don't see every day. That foodie spark kicked in, and I knew I had to go with a flight so I could taste a few. (Brilliant idea, by the way--four little cups of different flavors!) Our picks were: Grilled Lime Burnt Honey Crunchy PB Jelly Espresso Mascarpone Lemon Biscotti Brown Butter Pecan & Praline Each scoop came with a color-changing spoon (such a fun touch), and every flavor was creamy, consistent in texture, and absolutely delicious. My favorites were a tie between the Espresso Mascarpone (though I think it could stand strong without the lemon biscotti) and the Brown Butter Pecan & Praline. The Grilled Lime Burnt Honey was bright and unique, and the Crunchy PB Jelly was tasty but leaned a bit sweet for me. Overall, this was some of the best ice cream I've had--flavorful, high-quality, and true to its name. Add in the kind, helpful staff and the clean, cozy atmosphere, and it made for a really special stop. I left not just with a happy palate, but also with a new tradition: every year on August 22, I'll seek out a new ice cream spot in honor of my grandma. Amy & Alex's was the perfect place to start.

We've been loyal customers for over 12 years and have always appreciated the charm and warmth your store offers. Unfortunately, this visit was quite the opposite. My husband--just a week out from emergency surgery--was on his first short outing. We were both wearing masks for medical reasons. While that shouldn't matter, the staff member behind the register treated us with clear hostility from the moment we walked in. I greeted her politely, but she responded with an eye roll and a visibly unwelcoming attitude after looking at my mask first. That is ableism. Before my husband even entered the store, she abruptly and rudely asked, "Um, is that a service dog?" I answered honestly that our dog was not. Rather than calmly explaining store policy, she became increasingly short and vague. When I asked for clarification--since we've previously visited with our dog after receiving permission--she abruptly mentioned the health department had "just been in," and seemed flustered when it became clear we were unaware of any new policy. The tone throughout was dismissive, confrontational, and deeply unprofessional. Others in the store appeared just as surprised. It wasn't just about the dog; it felt discriminatory and ableist. We were simply trying to enjoy a brief outing and pick up a gift, but left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. This experience does not reflect the Shepherdstown community or the reputation your store has built over the years. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would appreciate a response, and I'm happy to revise or remove my review once this is addressed--it was simply my only way to reach you when other attempts failed.
