The owner acts very fake. She is trying to hard. I would not recommend. Coffee was ok but I have had better and Al or less expensive.

As a first-time visitor from out of town, this spot earned a place on my list of coffee shops that…read moreI'd actually love to visit again! The vibe was busy but comfortable at the same time. The busy-ness was a testament to its popularity, yet it was comfy and relaxed because there was a variety of seating areas where one could enjoy their beverage and/or food. Many were reading, listening to personal headphones, chatting with friends. The atmosphere was lively. I loved that the menu had a variety of items on it... Definitely something for everyone. This is one of the few shops that have a delicious cardomom syrup. I actually ended up ordering a second beverage because the first one was so delicious!

I visited this spot this morning and had a delicious cappuccino! The barista even put a little…read morebunny on it. So I was really hoppy about finding this place. Until I entered the bathroom. And saw the "under" orientation of the toilet paper, which violates the original patent for toilet paper holders from 1891, where the paper clearly goes over the top. The "over" configuration: * prevents the roll from brushing the wall * makes it easier to grab with one hand * reduces accidental unrolling * and, most importantly, does not make decent people feel like they're living in a lawless society. What you have here is bathroom anarchy. I must admit that tile and brushed metal fixtures actually look really nice, which somehow makes the backward roll even more upsetting. It's like a beautifully plated meal served on the floor. Moreover, the ceiling contains approximately 400 judgmental eyes observing you while you attempt to live your life. The wallpaper on the ceiling (on the ceiling!!!) has a pattern based on the "evil eye" motif (sometimes called nazar), which shows up in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern design. Traditionally it's supposed to ward off bad luck or jealousy. All it does in this case is confirm the establishment has abandoned reason and at least one of the people who work has met a psychedelic mushroom. Still, the vibe everywhere else in this place is amazing and the coffees are very very good!

How did I make it to nearly 50 years old before discovering Biscoff Cookie Butter? Honestly, I feel…read morelike I wasted decades of my life living in complete ignorance. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.

Husband had (and shared) cappuccino chunk, which was also extremely delicious and oh-so-creamy! Expect to be back to try the soft serve too - it's supposed to be even better than Jimmie Cone!
