    Little Brown Jug, Maybee Michigan
    Dennis A.

We were looking for a new experience on a gray , winter day. We had heard of Little Brown Jug Bar and Grill in Maybee Michigan mentioned as having AWESOME burgers. So we took a drive into the wilds if rural Michigan. Msybee is s cute little town, basically a crossroads set in the farmland. The place looks like your typical small town bar and grill, instead it's really nice and welcoming, clean and nicely decorated. Was pretty busy with local residents, always a good sigh. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. We first ordered the pretzel bites, arrived hot, crispy and salty with a nice cheese sauce( yummy) . My wife got the 1/3 lb burger loaded and I got the 1:/2 BbqBacon burger. Boat were WONDERFUL, a juicy and on a toasty bun, well seasoned and with generous condiments, possibly the best burger I have had EVER!! I want to give a shout out to the curly fries, a big amount, hot crispy, double fried I am sure!!! So if you want a great burger give them a try

Cold beer, great food, and remarkable service from the bartender! It was so wonderful we left and then came back with friends that same evening! The 3 large size rooms of the restaurant/bar were very clean and cozy! Family friendly and yet perfect for an evening out with friends. The menu looks super delicious. My wife had the fiesta smothered chicken and I snacked on some tater tot kegs while I enjoyed a couple High Life's. Enjoy!

Had tacos here. $2 each on Wednesdays. Excellent. Good cold draft beers. Beautiful place. Very clean inside. Our waitress, Jean, has been working here for 40 years. What a sweetheart!

Everyone we've talked to said, LBJ was a great location with awesome food..... Well it's $80.00 dollars will NEVER get back (1) Drinks. Gin/tonic good, vodka/cranberry HORRIBLE! Cranberry had no taste, and no vodka! (2) Appetizers- onions rings and fried pickles, good. Hard to screw up. (3) salad OK, self made at their little salad bar. (4) MEALS..... HORRIBLE!!! We had Sirloin Steak and Shrimp and Fiesta smothered Chicken. No seasoning or flavor on the steak or shrimp and both were tough. the broccoli also had NO flavor. The baked potato was good (that's it). The Fiesta smothered Chicken (smothered meant, with cheese and NO SAUCE) ....AGAIN no flavor or seasoning on the chicken and very tough. the Broccoli also had NO flavor. *only good thing was the peppers/onions and canned mushrooms * Best thing about the dinner, was the nice drive out there. Soooo bummed out.

Jeth the owner even stopped by our table. He is Hilarious. Even made some thing that was not on the menu for our granddaughter.

I just love being here around this time! I would like to note that the stone parking lot is across the side street, just something to keep in mind. Plenty of spaces though but not marked. We were greeted by super nice hostesses and great servers. I'm really glad the one lady isn't working there anymore because I never wanted to come back after her. Since new, friendly staff is here I will definitely be back. I don't drink but the bar area is a little smaller for the crowd this place gets. Otherwise the restaurant itself is very family friendly but if you want to avoid the band noise don't come past 7-7:30 on a weekend ( I can't say if there's music on other days). Great for groups, singles, couples, etc. I came with the family and our server was so sweet, I felt bad having to move with a toddler in the group because of the noise. Our next server was very patient and attentive. All the food was so good, a little on the pricier side for the portion sizes but delicious nonetheless. Definitely make it a point to get on the patio and look out on Wampler's lake. My little paradise close to home.

The tour guide even called ahead and told them that we would be there early. Our dinner choices had been called in advance. When we arrived there was only one waitress to try to serve 54 people. Apparently the two other waitresses did not show up for work. After two and a half hours most of our people had not received their food yet. We were on a time schedule for the bus driver. About half of our group were senior citizens. Some of them were diabetics. If the tavern was having problems they should have notified the tour operator and tried to make adjustments for the meals. If you only have a few people for dinner I'm sure it would have been a completely different situation. My wife and I ordered chicken Alfredo , it looked like watered down Mac and cheese with a few pieces of chicken mixed together.

We got the spinach artichoke cheese dip, calamari, beer flight, fish tacos, sliders, truffle fries, power bowl with blackened salmon. Too bad their Fog's Mac & Cheese comes with bacon and pulled pork, but it was possible to replace the meats grilled chicken with no up charge. They wouldn't let my FIL have two cheeses on his slider without added fees. Our dinner portion was $99.64. The spinach cheese dip is light on spinach and rather salty. It's so-so. I spilled the mason jar as it slipped out of my hand back onto the table. Oops. The water dumped enough all over the table and our dip and chips too. Guess we are done eating that then. We cleaned it up the best we could with the thin dinner napkins. No one came back by this check up on us and take care of the now water logged table. We should have put in our order earlier. The calamari is too bad, the meat is tender. Crust is just slightly crunchy. The fries are maybe a bit undercooked, wilted too. The sliders are good. The fish tacos aren't bad, meat is still tender. The rice is blah. The Mac & Cheese is good, creamy. Cavatappi noodles are a great noodle for this dish, holds creamy goodness in each bite. The grilled chicken is dry. The power bowl is meh, the veggies seemed to be sautéed in the sweet chili sauce, not for me, would have rather have a soy sauce based sauce for this power bowl. It was way too sweet for me. The blackened salmon is not too bad, although a tad dry. Service got better after our order was placed, the start of it wasn't so good.
