Some order to-go, but one of my favorite places to enjoy lunch is under the "umbrella-ed" tables in the quaint courtyard. Recommended lunch items: Interwood Club sandwich, chicken lo mein, hot ham & turkey po' boy. The location is a perfect breakfast/lunch spot for those in the area, whether that be "locals" working nearby or passer-throughs on the way to or from Bush Intercontinental Airport. Not sure if this is recent change or not but there is ZERO way to get into this building unless you work there. Visitor parking lot was blocked off with a chain and fence. One small sign for the deli lead to a loading dock with no room for deli parking. The main entrance was locked with a security gate that you needed an access badge to get into. It may come as a disappointment to Larry B (seeing he did an elaborate play on "Jung") but this deli is actually called Interwood Deli. So as Larry stated, it is tucked away in a building that is surrounded by trees off JFK (about 5 minutes away from IAH airport). This deli is small with a few tables but there is usually always an open seat as most people order their food to-go. I work at a building across the street from this quaint deli and it has been a god-send. Every office worker around this area knows about this deli (its like a hidden secret). There aren't many food options around in this area except fast food joints or the usual chain diners. I've been frequenting this mom/pop deli for about 3 years now and I'm not sure where I would go if it wasn't around. It was ran by a husband/wife until the husband got sick about a year ago so now its just the wife running it. From what I've been told, the same woman has been at this location for almost 15 years(?) doing what she loves--talking with customers & making her homemade sandwiches. So the menu isn't huge but sufficient enough to give a decent amount of options. There is a breakfast menu as well as a lunch menu. Their breakfast tacos here are probably one of the best breakfast tacos that I've tried and I basically need to get one everyday. For their lunch menu: you can pick from fresh salads, a variety of homemade sandwiches, burgers and a daily special that rotates every day. I probably tried almost everything on their menu and my personal favorites are the breakfast tacos (of course), grilled chicken salad, grilled chicken sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, and shrimp fried rice (one of the daily specials). If you have some time to burn before your flight (M-F) or just in the area and want to try out a local deli then this place is a must-try. The "Andy's" have really done a wonderful job with this deli. The deli was good before with previous ownership, but they have revamped the entire menu and added a Vietnamese flare that is extremely delicious. Our entire office gets excited for Pho Wednesday and I enjoy the Pork Vietnamese sandwich and Chicken Vietnamese salad on a regular basis. I had a soft spot for Janie, who used to run this deli, but I have to confess...the new ownership (Andy Sr and Andy Jr) has taken the operation to a whole other (better) level. Pho Wednesdays are a can't miss (as good a Pho as you will find, anywhere), and several other items are really outstanding...the Vietnamese sandwich...Italian Sub...Philly Cheesesteak...Fried Rice...frankly too many to name. Prices are very reasonable, service is friendly, and the setting (basically in the woods!) is charming. This sandwich/cafe is in a multi-tenant office building. It is a one person operation and it runs very well . The food prep area is up front, well organized, and clean. The sandwiches are really good and there's an outside table area where you can enjoy your lunch alone or with friends/co-workers. I find myself drawn to this cafe. read more

Ok this is a neat place. I am working at a hotel just down the block for a few weeks and this is close with good food and really cheap. I will be back. Actually named Interwood Deli, this corporate lunch counter offers a nice alternative to the Texas shaped waffles and bagged eggs that you get at most of the area's breakfast hotels. It's very clean, quiet and located at the end of a hidden hallway in an executive building. Breakfast starts at around four dollars, hot lunch plates around seven dollars. If you're near here, it's worth a try. They open at 7 o'clock. Note: Siri missed taking me to the location by about a block. Check the address on the sign. read more
