The first time I came in I had a coolant leak and spark plug problem With engine overheating. so I took it in to get a diagnostic. the spark plugs were done correctly but the mechanic decided to make a makeshift clamp to fuse the coolant leak..... seemed confident that it was going to fix the problem. Still was leaking coolant And overheating. Took it back because the engine was overheating still and I was still losing coolant. Told me that I needed a whole new radiator and that was the problem. so after spending 1300 dollars on a new radiator The problem kept persisting. after this second job, I had engine plugs that weren't re connected after the job and my car was losing power on the freeway...... took at back to have them plug it back in. my engine cover was also left in the shop And not put back on. The mechanic told me that he did the work on it but when I complained about doing a half job and not properly completing the job he said a different mechanic was the one who didn't do it right. No biggie. they plugged it back and it worked fine. month or two go by, Still leaking coolant and overheating. took it to the dealership because I was over going back and forth with this shop. Dealership tells me the fan right in front of the radiator had been melted off and my car had been overheating which led to serious engine damage and a head gasket repair. I can no longer drive this car. After I spent almost 2k dollars at this repair shop. only 109k miles on it. I genuinely believe this mechanic shop misdiagnosed my car and did a half ass job on my vehicle. Extremely sad because everyone seemed friendly and willing. if you want to have someone take pride in your vehicle and find the root of the issue do not take it here. Unlucky ....

Dropped off the car on the appointment day/time. After not hearing from the shop for a day and half I called and was told "he's out of office. Call tomorrow." Called the next day, and told they will get to my vehicle next week at the earliest. What's the point of having an appointment if my car is going to sit for 7 days+? Cancelled the service and picked up my car the next day. They may do great work but not being able to provide basic scheduling left a bad taste in my mouth.

On the day of the service to get the front, rear and fog lamps replaced (an upgrade) on my car, they stated that the tech called out sick, which was ok with me, so I decided to leave my car. Six days later, I got my car back (in a rush since I had to stop by after work). Everything looked good, but after driving it at night and taking a close look to the work done, it was less than ideal. The labor looked very unprofessional, it looked like I did it myself (and I have no experience at all). The head lights were not aligned, especially the driver's side which didn't illuminate more than six feet ahead of my car. The blinkers were completely loose to the point where one of them fell out of the bracket (at night, I realized I was driving without my front right side blinker). The fog lights were placed modifying the front bumper which looked like it was done in a rush. Furthermore, somehow, they managed to make my "cruise control" feature to stop working and my "ASC" light on at all times, which meant that my stability control wasn't working!!!! The worst is that when I called and made the appointment two weeks in advance for them to fix all these issues, on the day of the appointment, they did NOTHING to my car. My car spent the whole day at the shop, and they didn't check a damn thing, not even because they screwed up the labor!!!! The excuse was that the tech was pulled out for something else, so, that means that they don't care if they screw up. I'm a very busy person otherwise I would have made a complaint to the BAR, maybe I'm still on time to do so. Even though the front desk person is polite, this place has a giant lack of communication between techs, front desk and client. They never gave me a call for an update on the service; nor the first nor the second time that I was there. I was the one who had to call them to ask about my car. If they can't take the job, they should be honest and say "we can't do it" instead of doing a really poor job and breaking down or creating other problems in the car and not giving it the importance that it needs. Sooner or later the BAR is going to know about them. Oh, and last but not least, the labor went from 700 to almost 2k, which I don't mind, but I technically paid for a low quality work and to get my cruise control and ASC control broken. Really low value labor for the money paid.

Three weeks ago, I went out for an early drive with my 2016 GT3 RS. It was still dark out and an…read moreobject flew and hit my bumper causing it to crack as you can see in some of the photos I uploaded. I heard subtle sound and as I pulled off to the next exit my stomach sank seeing the damage. I quickly drove back home and contacted my friend that has a clear bra shop and he recommended Mark at Philip Thearles Autowerks. I got Marks number and gave him a call. He really helped me through the whole process and made me feel much more comfortable then what I was anticipating. Mark answered all my questions and gave me everything for the next step. Truly this was the best person to handle my situation since I do not trust really anyone. This car has been with me for 10 years and it holds a special place for me. I never dealt with this before on such an expensive vehicle. Fast forward Mark was kind enough to pick up the car, send me the estimate all within a few hours before the end of the day. He also had the bumper(main damaged area) off and checked to asses any other damage that could not be seen. He submitted everything to the insurance and I really did not have to do anything other than a phone call to my insurance and a couple emails. Following the next week the parts were ordered since the approval was done. I got text and picture updates of everything that was happening. I really appreciated this as I like to document the whole process. You really can tell Mark and his shop care about customer service and making you feel at ease. What I can say about the final end of the repair since a new bumper had to be ordered and repainted in Lava Orange. It looks like nothing happened! It looks better than Brand new. The paint matches exactly the rest of the car. Another thing that I was a bit worried but as you can see in some of the photos, you cannot tell the difference. When the car was ready I got a nice tour of the huge facility that is state of the art and they are Porsche certified! I am truly thankful for Mark and the shop getting this done within less than a month. I really do appreciate the whole process. No one wants to go through this but Philip Thearles Autowerks is the place to go for your automobile repairs / body shop.
