Spuds hit the spot when we needed lunch break after spending some time walking around Green Lake. What really stood out was the excellent customer service. Not only was the employee taking our order very friendly, but he explained portion sizes and made suggestions. He followed us outside offering condiments and then brought out all of the things we requested! The pieces of fish are very big, but they are kind of flat, which allows them to be nicely crisp, but have a bit less of a fleshy texture. I found it satisfying for an afternoon snack, despite not being exceptional. Adding garlic malt vinegar and Johnny's seasoning salt leveled up the satisfaction. The fries were more on the limp side, and while not my favorite, were again, satisfying. I also enjoyed being able to sit outside and look at the lake. While I would suggest other options for a more elevated Green Lake experience, I highly recommend Spuds for anyone looking for a quick satisfying bite in the sun and breeze.

Had a delightful experience grabbing a snack here. The service was extra friendly and kind. They even brought my food out to me. I'd definitely come back. My fried oysters were really fresh and tasty and the cocktail sauce tasted homemade. The inside was clean and bright with lots of places to sit. Will def be back to try more! They also have lots of vegetarian options too.

This was my first time at any Spud location. I've seen mixed reviews of other locations, but for some reason never looked into this one. One day when walking around Green Lake and getting hungry, I decided to give it a try. Not sure if I got lucky on that day (it was a Sunday), but the customer service was noticeably wonderful. The cashier greeted us with a big smile and just seemed so welcoming & attentive. I haven't had service like that in awhile around here. As for food, just wanted to go simple & got the cod fish and chips. This being a local chain, I didn't expect much. When I bit into the fish, it was way better than I expected. Crunchy on the outside, soft & flaky on the inside, and most important, flavorful! Sometimes when I get fish & chips, the fish is bland. Not here. The fries could've used salt, but otherwise they were nice. The condiments were great too. Tartar sauce, lemon, & vinegar (I think it had garlic in it?). There were also various hot sauces that were near the register. When my partner grabbed one of the hot sauce bottles, the two workers behind the counter noticed and confirmed that he made a choice they would have made as well! It was a cold day so most people sat inside. As we ate, more people arrived and I realized there weren't enough tables for them, so it got a little crowded. The prices are a bit high, but overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and will return!

SPUDS FISH & CHIPS on Green Lake is an institution for North Seattle Locals... Nothing more satisfying than a double fish & chips with cup of Chowda after a walk around Green Lake. First of all what a lunch time view you'll have while dining. However it's not the view it's the decades of quality fish deep fried fish served to perfection that keeps me dining. Every meal has tasted the same since I first stated dining here back in the 80's as a young punk swimming at the lake all summer long... The variety, quality and serving size is epic . Prawns , Claims & Fish on top of a mountain of some of the freshest Idaho potatos aka French Fries accompanying my order. Kudos to management for always having exceptional staff to handle my orders, it does not go unnoticed. Well I'm not sure I can elaborate anymore about how sensational Spuds Fish & Chips on Green Lake has been... So you're gonna have to stop by and grab a bite!

Came here for fish and chips with the family on a sunny and cool day. They were tasty, served hot and full of crunch. I like that service was able to get condiments available on hand. Location is easily accessible from around the lake after quite some walking. When craving for fish and chips I would come to Spud!

The staff are the best ~ so friendly and smiley. Their fish and chips are top tier but I mainly became a regular for the staff. The fish is always is a sizeable (if a piece is too small, they give another small) and I'm always well-satiated after single w/chips. And I love that they allow dogs on the patio And almost everything they use is compostable. Ambience is eco-fun.

fish and chips! (1 piece) such a big piece btw

yes so fire! a little walk away from the bus stop, but spud's is worth it forsure. the crispiest, yet juiciest fish. the fish portion was HUGE and not too fishy, and the chips (fries) are to die for. definitely try the seasonings and dressings they provide too, you wont be let down. the tartar sauce is light and creamy and bright. service was 5/5! super friendly and helpful, as it was our first time. theres indoor and outdoor seating across from a huge park, which allowed us to people watch. overall, super clean place with super clean food. not greasy at all, and in fact felt really clean to eat. one of my favorite fish and chips spot in seattle & ill be back!

I consistently have great service here. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The fish and chips are delicious, and I always get the vanilla milkshake! The space is clean and overlooks Green Lake, making it a great spot to dine in if you want to enjoy your meal fresh

We arrived around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and were told the wait would be about an hour and 15 minutes. We asked about the bar, and after about five minutes, two seats opened up. We ordered the Dinghy chowder sampler so we could try three different chowders. We came for the clam chowder. I thought the flavor was good, although the texture was a little different for me. The biggest disappointment was the regular clam chowder. We don't eat bacon, and they told us the bacon could not be left out. Since clam chowder was the main reason we came, that really took away from the experience. A few minutes after we ordered, a couple sitting next to us at the bar asked the same question we did: "Is there bacon in the award-winning clam chowder?" When the server said yes, they said, "Okay, never mind. We don't want that." So we weren't the only ones asking. We ended up having the lobster chowder. Overall, 3 out of 5. The experience was okay, but because we couldn't really try the clam chowder we came for, we don't plan to come back.

It is somewhat difficult to get a reservation, because the space here is very small and packed with tables. The one downside is that it is a little tight and can be difficult to hear. But I'll take that for the opportunity to eat here. And as long as you go in with the mindset that you might drop some serious coin on the meal, you're gonna have a phenomenal time. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. I'll be back for more!!

So we got top two sweetest, followed by two in the middle and the last two. It was fun because we were really able to tell a difference in taste this way. Super rich (normal), and the accompanying flavors were strong and also fatty. It was a little heavy for us on this night. Great option if you don't like seafood, but if you do, go for the Halibut instead. We had a couple next to us who got the Halibut and I could smell that we missed out on that dish. So I would highly recommend you get the Halibut (even though we never tried it. I can just tell it's amazing). Dessert was Spiced Chocolate Pot De Creme. Again, fantastic!
