This is one of the most popular places to eat around. Their battered fish and oysters were excellent. Battered shrimps were OK. I liked their tartar sauce over Ol' Bay Aoli. The sampler was big portion. My daughter and I were so full after eating it.

Was wandering around Seattle center last weekend for a jewelry show and popped in here for a late lunch. I honestly did not know the armory was opened on the weekends haha. My brain assumed it's only opened during the summer so it was a pleasant surprise coming in here and seeing how busy it was. There was a torrent game at climate pledge so lots of people in jerseys. My friend and I ordered fish and chips and a chowder to share. It was so warm and comforting! I made the mistake of not wearing a jacket so it was really nice haha. Service was quick. You order from their little kiosk and they call your name once it was ready. I'll have to make a visit here more often!!

Well it had my name on it so I had what the hell?! Jokes aside, I was craving some seafood after being in Seattle for a day. After hanging out at MoPOP for a few hours we popped over to Seattle Center Armory. It's a food hall with at least a dozen places to eat. As soon as I saw a seafood option I knew I had found my happy place. Menu is simple with fry baskets, sandwiches, and some specialty items. It looks like they've expanded their menu comparatively to older photos. Honestly fish and chips sounded great, that's what I went with! Beer-battered Alaskan Cod, hand cut fries, and tartar sauce. When you use high quality ingredients you don't need much else. A squeeze of lemon and a little hot sauce and I was in heaven. The fish was so hot I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for it to cool down. I devoured this basket. It's a gigantic portion of food. Two generous sized pieces of flaky cod in a crispy beer batter exterior. Absolutely delicious. I wish the sauce containers were bigger for dipping. Fries were simple, yet seasoned and tender. Absolutely zero complaints. I knocked it all back with a Fremont beer. Couldn't ask for more. A very tasty plate of fish and chips that lived up to my namesake!

We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat pre-Lady Gaga concert, this place was perfect. Ordered the fish and chips on the kiosk, waited about 5 minutes for the food. The fish was okay, the french fries were mid crisp. Tarter sauce was stock. Prices were decent, no customer service as you just order from the kiosk. If you are looking for somewhere quick to eat nearby a concert, this place works.

Had a great lunch at Matt's today. I had the Shrimp Roll and wife had the cod - fish and chips. The shrimp roll was so big I could hardly get it in the mouth.

Visiting the Sakura Festival in Seattle, this place totally blew us away from our expectations! Not in a conspicuous place, nestled to the left of the staircase going up to the Armory, there were plenty of tables although there was a large crowd dining then. Not cheap eating, we thought at first, but when the food was ready to be picked up... wow! When do shrimp become prawns? These were some giant shrimp! Well breaded but just cooked on the inside. Delicious! The mussels were an appetizer and just delightful with a choice of sauces. The crab over fries.... I'll eat this every day. Just yum! Fries were good but with fries in almost every order, we could not finish it all. Once cold, the oil saturates... so tip: eat fast! Highly recommended if in the neighborhood!

Super chunky fried shrimp, excellent customer service, good efficient service! The shrimp were big and flavorful . They had other very good options which I look forward to trying next time I'm in Seattle

Waited a very time for a bowl of small soup, but the taste was good. Very thick bowl of clam chowder, and not watery at all. Came with a nice piece of toast also. Inside the food hall, so easily could fit a big group inside. Definitely for tourists but if you are coming, an easy and relaxed meal. Order via iPad screen.

Thank god we made it in time! Visiting Seattles Children's museum and came across Matt's fish basket. And want to SINNNNG the praises of Jorge the gentleman who not only help me order enough/tell me I was ordering too much food but also being AMAZINGLY honest and helping me order "hooked-up" stuff off the menu so that I wasn't paying full price. He could have totally not said anything and I wouldn't have known any better but Jorge literally got me so much bang for my buck. We got the sampler, seafood poutine, crispy mussels and clam chowder. My kids ate EVERYTHING. The food was SOOOO DARN GOOD. My 6 year old and 3 year old finished EVERYTHING on their plate without argument. But it wasn't just that the food was good, I really deeply appreciate Jorge's customer service. Best customer service I've had in a VERY long time. Not only did he help me charge my phone (didn't bring charger with me) but he gave my kids soft serve... I cannot express how thankful I am and how happy he made my kids. This man deserves a raise. I'm serious, if he doesn't get one I'm 100% sure his kindness and gifts with customer service would be deeply desired everywhere else.

TL:DR - Lots of food for the value. Fries take up most of the actual container. Shrimp and sauce were quite good. But this is just too much of a good thing. You couldn't eat it as a sandwich with how big the shrimp were, and just all the oil and fried batter was too much and made me feel sick. All in all, if you're used to fried foods, you'll love this spot, otherwise it won't sit well. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I think you'll either absolutely love this place or never want to come back. I'm pretty much in the never want to come back camp, but I can easily see other people really liking it. To just break it down bluntly, you get a HUGE amount of food for the price. Pretty much the entire takeout box was filled with fries, and my shrimp po'boy was on top. So you'd barely be able to close the flaps if you took the entire sandwich out. So again, this may be a reason to come for some. The fries themselves were delicious, crispy and crunchy, perfectly seasoned. The shrimp on this po-boy were HUGE. I mean, each one was literally the height of the bun it was served on. You couldn't even close the bun, I had to eat one shrimp by itself, lay them all sideways, and they were still spilling out of the bun. The bun was perfectly toasted on the inside, nice and soft in the middle. The sauce for the shrimp was delicious as well. The shrimp itself was about 1/3 batter and 2/3 shrimp meat, which is pretty good. All that sounds great right? So what's the problem? Well the problem for me is that it was just too much oil. Between the heavy sauce, large amounts of fried batter, and then the ungodly amount of fries on top of that. I barely finished any of it, I just felt sick from all the fried carbs. I started taking the batter off most of the shrimp, scraped off most of the sauce, and only eating about a third of my fries and felt super slow and heavy the rest of the day. So if you love greasy food and it doesn't bother you, you may love this place. If fried fast food is a once in a while treat, this may leave you feeling nothing but regret.

Fried oysters and fries -cup of clam chowder and a $4 Diet Pepsi$40 lunch that I didn't want to finish.
    Barbara K.

Fried oysters were expensive and super over fried. Fries were pretty good. Clam chowder tasted like it came from a can. Service was excellent, but if the food's not great, I won't be back or recommend. $40 not well spent on lunch this time around!

Solid and quick fried fish when you crave it. Located in the Armory, it's a convenient location. Wait time after ordering varies but is generally not too bad. Fish is super crunchy, if a bit greasy. Only 1 sauce is included with your order. In the handful of times I've visited, half the time they are out of dole whip. There is ample seating in the hall and it's not too loud.

This is located in the Armory which is the food court near the space needle. Interestingly this is the only one with a 4+ star review so I chose this. The portion is huge. I really mean huge. When I ordered the seafood basket I had no idea how big it is. There are two pieces of everything so far $20+ is not bad. You get 2 fried fish pieces, 2 fried prawns (they are huge) and 2 oysters. They also pack a lot of fries which is not bad but it is just fries. I was glad the lady taking the order reminded me that the portion is large so I didn't try the clam chowder. This is just decent gesture to warn customers so I'm grateful. Relatively speaking this place is not as crowded as the burger place next door but I think this is better if you like seafood.

Very cute. Very sophisticated. Very "rich auntie enjoying oysters on a work trip." But who was I kidding? Those oysters were NEVER going to fill me up. So I got back to my hotel, got comfortable, and did what needed to be done: ordered Mama's Crawfish and Seafood House. I went with the fried catfish and shrimp basket, which came with fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Now the catfish and shrimp?! Mama did her BIG ONE. Everything was seasoned perfectly, fried well, and exactly what I needed to close out my Seattle trip. I thoroughly enjoyed both. The sides, however, didn't move me. I love fries BAD, but these weren't amazing enough for me to stuff myself when I had perfectly good catfish and shrimp sitting there. I didn't bother with the coleslaw or hushpuppies either. I know where my priorities lie. Overall, Mama's absolutely satisfied the seafood craving. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'd definitely skip the delivery and go dine in so I can get the full experience. Because apparently oysters and wine are just my pre-dinner now.

We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

It was also SO loaded with garlic that it could've repelled 20 vampires. Literally, all you could taste was heavy salt and garlic. The clam linguine also suffered from the same problem. It was a pile of overcooked linguine, and again, heavy on the salt and garlic, light on the pesto. The $65 filet mignon was a joke. Don't ever order this. We asked for it to be prepared medium rare and we received filet that was cut in half and completely well done. Unlike the clam dishes, the steak was under-salted and accompanied by potatoes that were cooked to different levels of done-ness and some chewy asparagus. Dessert was the only thing that we enjoyed. I had the fish and chips, which are three pieces of Alaskan cod - coming with fries, tartar sauce, and ketchup. These were seriously awesome. I have to first talk about the beer batter on the outside, which has a phenomenal crunch. It's craggly and crunchy in the best of ways - with a consistent crispiness across the entire fish for every piece. I don't think I've ever had a crunch this good on fish and chips. The oil is clearly fresh, and it's served with basically no delay from the frying. I also loved the cod inside. It's super moist and flaky. Obviously, the fish doesn't have a lot of fat, but it makes up for it with a disappearing texture where you barely even need to bite through. They've clearly gotten the formula right on the fish. If that wasn't enough, the fries were easily the best I've ever had with fish and chips. They were hot, thick, and fluffy - a perfect combination that led to delicious results. The portion on these was great as well. If I had one complaint, the tartar sauce wasn't very good. It felt like it was missing both fat and acid, and tasted closer to ranch than what I was expecting a tartar sauce to be. I just didn't end up using it for the fish. Yes, this is pricey. The 3-piece order cost me $26 before tax/tip. That's quite expensive - despite a solid portion size. Is this the best fish and chips in the city? To me it's between this and Pacific Inn Pub. They have a much better tartar sauce and serve a larger portion at a third less of the price, but I think the actual fish and the fries here are better. I would say it's a toss-up - you can't go wrong with either one. Overall, a fantastic new opening that I would love to bring people to. 9/10
