Fun concept with a cool menu themed after astrology signs and aesthetic drinks! It does take a while to get them though- service was very slow despite it not being too crowded. Standouts were The Archer (tropical flavors) and Sweet Justice (looks like ice cream and tastes like a prnstar martini!)

(Overall: B) - The vibes are immaculate coming from someone who is not a big fan of astrology. Though I think the menu wording oversells a bit, I love the astrology sign themed drinks -- it was more impressive that my drink of choice was my sign too. Drinks are reasonable quality and worth a visit for sure. (Water Bearer - Aquarius: B) - Flavors of yuzu and plum blend so well and brings me back to Japan with those pleasant floral and fruity notes. Missed opportunity to elevate the presentation given colors of purple of the butterfly pea flower, yellow yuzu, and intense plum. (Star Maiden - Virgo: C) - Conceptually sounds very intriguing, but concerned that the menu may be overstating the contents. Found it very entertaining that "marshmallow root" was lucky charms; arugula-infused mezcal sounds fascinating for that spiciness, but that was not tastable to me.-. only the arugula garnish, which is strange with marshmallow. The Little Dipper became hyped up for their zodiac inspired drinks. We arrived at 5:30 with reservations we made 2 weeks in advance before a concert. I would say the drinks here are definitely an acquired taste. We tried each other's drinks and we had mixed feelings. Our drinks came out one at a time so it took a little longer than usual for all of us to get our drinks. Our server was very friendly and was very informed on the drinks and food that were popular. Since we arrived so early we were informed that sushi and hand rolls were not available until 7 which was a bit of a letdown since we had to leave around that time. This place is definitely is on the pricer side with drinks being standard to nyc prices. Especially in midtown. The actually place itself is quite small with only a couple tables plus the bar. I'm not sure if there was another area as we didn't stay too long. From what we saw it's definitely best for smaller groups. I would say try it out if you are interested in astrology but definitely go at a later time of the day.

My husband surprised me by taking me here for Valentine's Day-and it was so much fun! The ambience makes you feel like you've been transported into a cosmic dream. From the cosmic ceiling to the constellation light sconces to the menu that reflects the four elements - this place does a theme really well. If you're into astrology and you like a strong cocktail, give this bar a try. Their uni tots are solid too!

An astronomy and astrology-inspired cocktail bar tucked away in Midtown. Interior: First impression, the interior is a bit tacky and the inside is very small. It feels like a speakeasy. It is in a touristy area so keep that in mind. Food: They serve a variety of handrolls and small bites. My only concern was the handrolls were being made from a small cart that was inside the bar. It was very dark and I could not tell if there was any ice or proper refrigeration of the fish. From what I could see, the raw sashimi was sitting in boxes in room temperature. The seaweed was soggy but the flavor of the handrolls were decent! We also got the uni tater tots which were fun and the chicken & caviar, can't go wrong with either. Cocktails: I was left wanting more with the cocktails. They were astrology-themed which is a fun concept. The taste and presentation was just not there. I wish it was executed better because the idea has potential. As mentioned by many other reviews, the drinks need more work! Service: Super attentive and friendly server. She was great with her recommendations and came to check on us multiple times! 10/10 staff and only reason this place is 4/5 instead of 3/5 stars.

Cute ambiance, intimate settings & animated shooting stars. Friendly staff that engage at perfect timing. The table had the Chicken Bite & Caviar as well as the Tuna Caviar. The chicken bite dish was good but the dip over powered the caviar and with the tuna dish there was too much of a 'sea' taste. As for this Aquarius I enjoyed the Water Bearer my friend enjoyed The Archer, don't be fooled by the descriptions. I also tried Grounded it has an acquired taste with the mezcal but it's doable.

Service was excellent. I enjoyed their unique drinks, I think this is something they do well. If you're adventurous and like to try creative cocktails and appreciate a more intimate setting, this place is great for that. I would not seek this place out for dinner again as their selection is limited and expensive. I had the 'dry aged burger dog' and the burger wasn't worth the price.

I stayed at the hotel next door and saw this door open with paint designs and said, that couldn't be a storage facility. Went to dinner and looked up the location to find out it is a cocktail bar!!! I love hidden gems like this. I reserved for 7 but Resy changed it to 2 which is bad because you are required to put a card down. Anywoo, we went down there and it was so cool and beautiful! Black light art going down stairs and you turn left and see a very cozy dimly lit bar with an astrology theme. They had room for us so we had some great drinks! Be careful though, you will run up a hefty tab. The drink menu is broken out according to your zodiac which was cool and great music. Tried the Water Bearer and Sweet Justice. They all literally sparkled!!!! Waiter was so nice and fun. Will definitely come back for drinks again.

Not saying it's a terrible cocktail lounge but definitely was not a favorite especially in the city. The cocktail lounge itself is very cute. Speakeasy vibes and intimate. It's a small lounge serving cocktails inspired by astrology. I actually came here for a girls night with a friend who is very big on astrology. The whole concept we did love but unfortunately wasn't impressed by the cocktails. I'm a libra and definitely hated my drink which was sad but the basil overpowered the taste. Fortunately, the waitress was very kind and noticed I didn't like the drink and offer me another one excluding it from the bill. The next one i had was a Sagittarius and it was ok but also not the best. After this I ordered a Leo and definitely couldn't finish it because I didn't realized I ordered a bourbon which is not my favorite. we then ordered a Virgo, scorpio, Gemini and Pisces . Out of all them the Virgo cocktail was the best- more on the refreshing side. As per small bites this is where I was really disappointed. We ordered crispy rice and the chicken caviar. The chicken was like popcorn chicken but too salty and the crispy rice did not feel fresh instead it was a little too fried making it hard to bite. I really wanted to like one drink but unfortunately i did not .

This place is so intimate there are very limited seatings. The drinks are all so creative and delicious... and strong lol! The food is on the pricier end but when else would you get to eat caviar with chicken! The hand roll seems to use fresh quality fish also. Overall a fun place to go with a close friend to yap or a date.

This place is to the right of Goldie's, fyi! We got the Sagittarius, Leo, and Aquarius cocktails. Btw, they give you a round of complimentary shochu shots to start-which is always a plus!

I saw the ads on TikTok and was super excited to try this out. Made a reservation for six of my friends and we were all hyped. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. To be clear, it's in its soft opening and not totally ready. There's only five cocktails on the menu - options are limited compared to what's listed on the website. And the drinks...need some work. While I applaud their desire to be experimental, most did not meet the mark. The Pisces cocktail tasted like nothing, the Taurus cocktail tasted like pure Mezcal, and the Libra cocktail tasted like cough syrup. The Leo drink tasted fine, at least. The uni tots are good, but it does seem like odd combo. There was a sushi chef available for rolls, which is great. Unfortunately, we were most excited for the tarot card reader that the ads had, but no one was available for that last night. I want to be clear - the service was lovely and we had no issue with our servers. And we really, really want this idea to succeed! It has a lot of potential and I love the idea of an astrology lounge. But it definitely needs to improve if it wants to stay competitive.

    Terry K.

So much fun! I've been to a bar with my friend with astrology themed drinks before, but this one was the best. We can right when they opened at 5pm, and the bartender was phenomenal. Answered all our questions, made us the most delicious drinks, and the atmosphere was so cozy and cute. Will definitely come back, especially to bring out of town friends.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way.
