We do takeout from time to time and Little Far East has never disappointed! They are very polite when calling in my order and service picking it up is always pleasant. Earlier this year, I was able to talk hubby into going inside and sit down with our 22 year old for a family dinner (I'm always the one going in to pick-up). Let me first begin by saying I'm SO glad I didn't read these reviews before trying bc I would've missed out on a gem in Damascus. I've honestly avoided all Chinese take-out in town bc compared to down county, I knew I'd be disappointed. On this occasion I didn't want to pay for Door Dash and decided to give this spot a try based on some of the dishes they offered. Being a NY transplant, I'm somewhat of a snob when it comes to Chinese take-out. Things like Szechuan being listed repeatedly leads me to feel more confident about ordering (hence why I took the leap of faith.) My boyfriend ordered general chicken, a good neural option to gauge. I ordered him the dinner option which comes with soup and an egg roll. I think it's a good value considering the portion of chicken and rice as well as the two side items. I saw his food and I was impressed even just at looking, the chicken looked great. He really enjoyed all of it. I tried the wonton soup and thought it was excellent, the broth was darker which generally adds to the flavor. I got out of my comfort zone and tried a dish I haven't had before. I tried the beef Singapore rice noodles, spicy. As soon as I saw it, I knew I made a solid choice. There was a Szechuan pepper right on top, immediately knew I was in good hands. These noodles have the heat of Szechuan paired with a curry flavor, and honestly it gave me more of a Thai hear which I was really craving. We shared an order of the Szechuan style string beans. Again, something that immediately upon visual inspection from the peppers and cooking of the string beans would be excellent. Perfectly cooked so that there's a bite, and a lower heat so it can be tolerated among those less favorable of spice. I ordered through the web link on google and had no issue with my food being prepared in time. When I went inside, visual inspection gave that this place was once a spot that people sat to eat. However with the line of about 5 people, the phone ringing off the hook, and the stacks of take out containers I knew that this was more for carry out. I was impressed by the speed of the woman behind the counter and the quality and portions for the price were more than fair. If you're anything like me, and more reserved about trying Chinese take out in a small town, give this spot a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed! We know personally speaking that until the experience I described above falters, that we will remain loyal to little far east! read more

Decent sesame chicken but for the wrong reason. It didn't have much sesame on it and tasted more like sweet and sour chicken. Entirely too sweet would recommend adding some salt to try and balance it out or get something else entirely. Definitely don't dine in. The ac was broken. It's kinda perpetually broken so better to not take the chance. Service was on time for when we ordered it. read more

I used to order from them frequently until I retired and am on a tighter budget now. Today I injured my knee and it was 8:30 pm (they close at 9:30) but they took my delivery order. I told the woman I was injured so it would take me a minute to get to the door. She said it would be 40 minutes but within 15 minutes I received a call that the driver was on his way! I ordered Moo Shi Pork and an egg roll. The food was delicious. I was hurting too much to use the pancakes for a wrap so I just put the pork mixture over the rice. The rice was sticky but light (which I loved) and the pork delicious. I am saving the egg roll and pancakes for a more traditional meal tomorrow. I was just so hungry and happy to be treated so nicely. read more

Amazing food and dine in is nice and quiet, forget any other bad reviews you've seen. People are just picky and entitled. The food is so good, fresh and wait time for pick up and or dine in is relatively fast. Workers are very polite and straight forward. Quality has plummeted under current ownership. Last night I ordered fried scallops and French fries. The fries were excellent. The "scallops" were mini fish cakes and absolutely terrible. False advertising on the scallops. This place USED to have excellent food. read more

Very bad food. Lo mein was old and tasted bad and so did the beef and brocoli. He rice was ok but a lot of burnt areas. Orange chicken was ok as well. Going back to another local chinese food place. read more

I used to come here back in the 1990s and early 2000s and it was great then and it's great now. Something about their fried rice just makes it significantly better than others. Food is super flavorful and not overly salty. Fresh and tasty spring rolls too. My wife got their shrimp w/ vegetables and the shrimp were really large. Such a great go-to place. read more

My wife and I called in an order for delivery. They said it would take 45-60 mins. So an hour and 20 mins later I called to ask if the food was out for delivery. I was told that the driver had come back and I should have my food, which I did not. I was told that she would talk to the driver and call me back. After 10 mins I called them back to ask about them calling me back. They told me the driver had delivered it to another apartment. Which is not acceptable at all. They said they would rush me my order which they did I got to me in less then 30 mins. But the drover then had the audacity to ask for a tip, after delivering it to the wrong house and having it take over 2 hours for me to get my food. Also the food was not horrible but the food alone would not bring me back to the restaurant, the chicken and broccoli had some chicken that was not edible. And the Lo Main did not seem that it was freshly cooked. Would not order from here again. read more

Pretty good Chinese Take out. We just gave them a try during the pandemic, since my favorite Chinese has temporarily closed due to Covid19. The staff was pleasant and our order was accurate. We tried the egg rolls, beef on a stick, fried rice, sesame chicken and shrimp with vegetables. It was all good, just not great. My family said they really liked the egg rolls and the pieces of chicken in the sesame chicken were HUGE. I liked the shrimp and vegetables, but found it kind of bland. The fried rice was on the dry side. They seemed to be taking proper sanitary procedures due to Covid 19 also, which is appreciated. read more

Carry out is fast and the food always hits the spot. Hot & sour soup and egg drop soup are good. Steamed Dumplings are very good as well as Pan fried Dumplings. Horrible. Bad quality meat, no taste. The phone operator couldn't understand what I was ordering due to lack of English and when I arrived my orfer wasnt ready. He haf to ask me to point to my choice on the menu and he had to literally make a phone call for help. Then he asked me to wait another 10 minures for my order. "A-OK" is about right for this place. Been there since the Weiss shopping center opened, had about a dozen different owners, occasionally employs a high schooler to deliver. Pros: some very unusual and strong dishes, especially their takes on Double Cooked Pork (great sauce, really exceptional) and Spicy Fried Eggplant (also has an interesting and tasty sauce). Have some unusual and interesting appetizer options including Spicy Wonton (a giant wonton marinated in soy sauce and chili oil and perhaps some other things) and tender Steamed Dumplings. Soups are a weak point, but edible. Cons: This may be a personal thing, but they cook everything in a really outrageous amount of oil. I mean, every bite is shining with oil and dripping with it. My family got stomach aches from the amount of oil in each dish. Eventually we would strain every carry-out dish we ordered when we got home, and it was STILL too oily. We even asked them to cut down on the oil, and they would either A) ignore us, but claim they had or B) steam everything and serve it without sauce or anything. Just steamed meat and vegetables. Insert ironic "yum" here. So it's a real mixed bag. With the recent improvement at the Sky Kitchen, the Little Far East II has some serious competition. I simply stopped ordering there because I was so bothered by the amount of oil in each dish. Dining in is moderately better, but still too much for me. I switched allegiances. That said, it's still very popular and most families in Damascus seem to favor it. Try it and see what you think; but if you tried the Sky Kitchen instead, I'd understand. read more

I eat here sometimes twice a week, can't believe I didn't review it. This is mainly a take out/delivery place. The inside is so uncharming and drab that it's actually kind of.... charming! I get take out 75% of the time and eat in the rest. Food is great, and vegan friendly. Vegetable soup (ask for without chicken/beef stock) is fantastic. I almost always get Kung pao tofu, and I ask them to throw in some broccoli, they are fine with it. Also the string bean Szechuan style is great (ask for with out meat bits). It's kind of boring since it's just string beans, but the sauce is great, and when mixed with rice and hot chili oil, lovely! They are fast, nice, and accommodating. Family run, so it's a toss up of who's waiting tables. The delivery guy is legendary. read more

First time there today, and it was Friday for lunch. I was shocked to see that General Tso's Chicken wasn't available as a lunch special, as that's my 'standard' for trying out at Chinese restaurants. So, I got the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special, which came with a spring roll and fried rice. Upsides: Not busy at all, staff was super friendly, food seemed to come out pretty fast, somewhere around 5 minutes. Kung Pao Chicken was pretty tasty with a lot of chicken and a lot of peanuts. Seemed maybe a little over-salty, but not bad. Two big scoops of fried rice, and enough chicken, this was a waist buster for $5.88 after tax. Downsides: Spring roll must have been prepared on the surface of the sun, because even after 5+ minutes driving away, it was a fate worse than a Hot Pocket. However, it didn't have much inside of it besides cabbage, no meat/veggies. Fried rice was bland and not like the fried rice I'm used to at other places. Barely any traces of fried egg in it, and no other veggies or meat within it. Not much flavor in it, but worked well when mixed with entree. All that said, I'd try them again. read more

I must say I am very impressed with this restaurant. When I called to place a delivery order the lady on the phone was very nice and took my order without any issues. I asked her if she accepted credit card and was very pleased to find out that the restaurant accepts ALL credit cards!!! Yes, all!! It gets rather frustrating at times when I want to use a particular type of card (financial discipline :-D) but find out that it is not accepted. So I was told that my order would take 45 minutes to deliver. I have no problem with that considering the poor weather we were having but was very pleasantly amazed that they actually delivered much sooner than that!!! And I would have to say that the food was really goood (orange chicken, beef with broccoli, hot & sour soup, ma po tofu, and singapore noodle), flavorful and fresh, and the price was right! Thanks to all the good Yelp reviews I decided to stop in and have a sit down dinner with my family. Orange chicken and Mongolian Lamb - very tasty and without an overabundance of MSG. I'm sure there's some MSG but I don't have a problem with that. It looks like they just recently renovated as a couple of regular carry-out customers mentioned that to the owner. Will certainly be ordering some take-out when I'm in the area again. read more

Ordered first time last night. Mongolian lamb and salt and pepper shrimp were good. I would order these again. Kung pao chicken was ok - just chicken and peanuts, no veggies. Mapo tofu didn't have any meat, was sweet, and used frozen peas and carrots. Definitely would not order again. So mixed feelings ordering here again. It was ok overall but not great. They have a friendly staff but the food is gross. I ordered vegetable soup and shrimp fried rice. I don't feel like these are complicated dishes. The vegetable soup was very murky with not a lot of flavor or vegetables for that matter. The little broccoli I did get was not even steamed.
