I really want to like this place since it's so close to home but every time I've gone it's a big disappointment. The portions are so small. French toast is two tiny little slices. And everything tastes really mediocre. I can make a better breakfast at home. And it's pricy too. Last time I went I felt bad for my guests but it was barely edible and not worth the price. Reminds me of school cafeteria food. Service is okay but can improve a lot. I know they're under new management. From another restaurant that has good food so I was hoping their food would have improved. The restaurant itself could use a facelift too to make it look better. Little Green Onion...a very well known Riverside diner. Does it live up to the hype? ...sorta. The portions are definitely generous which is great and the food is good. Not great, but good. With so many other diners in the area, I'm not sure that the dishes we had here were exceptionally memorable. Regarding ambiance, the building is extremely outdated and some parts are straight up falling apart. The service was good though! Criticisms aside, we enjoyed our breakfast here, and would recommend it to someone if they were already in that area, but would likely not come out of our way to return. read more

Been a few months since we have been here. I know it's been sold. My hubby was so surprised when he went to pay the bill today. He came alone to kill time while I got my hair done across the way. Little Green Onion has always been our favorite place for breakfast. Anyway, he ordered 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, with wheat toast and a black coffee. The bill was 26.54. He asked if they had made a mistake, the waitress clarified that was indeed the cost. Wow! If this is the norm going forward for a simple breakfast, we definitely will find a new place to frequent. Well.. I mean I had to try it. Heard about this place for years and it's in the Brockton arcade so let see what all the hype's about. In my youth I always heard about their "taco Tuesday" and as I grew older more about their breakfast. On my way to pick up some cookies so what the hell, let's get some breakfast. Came inside and it was that old school feel which I like. Nothing too special about the layout. Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. Service was ok. Kinda waited a bit for the waitress even though it wasn't that many people and there was enough waitresses to cover everybody but whatever. I ordered my food and the women who took my order had a smile and was polite and soon as she saw my drink low she got me a refill. To me that's everything, keep my drink full and I know you got me. On to the food.. man.. it's NOT the place for breakfast in my opinion. I ordered the country skillet and it was a huge let down. I thought it was universal in every restaurant and thought they always had grilled bell peppers and onions but no. Just egg, sausage, bacon & uncooked ham. I'm no chef but when I make eggs and ham at the pad I grill the ham first. Really just bland tasting food and the biscuits & gravy were a HUGE let down. But now I know and maybe it was an off day today but you only get one shot with me. Honestly if it wasn't for the waitress coming in clutch with that refill I would've given this place 1 stars. I wanted to give it 3 stars but that refill (lol) isn't enough to counter balance how bad the food sucks. Service was good. This is on my mental list of "never again" and if you're reading this I hope you have a better experience with the food than I did. read more

Super great breakfast spot. Staff are friendly and attentive, food is always great and the specials keep me coming back! I wish this place was open longer! It's a 2 minute walk from Kraemer's coffee shop (must try also) making it a perfect diner given the location, food quality, and service. Definitely diner quality food, but it's very homey to me..to each their own, it's really hard to mess up french toast and potatoes. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. I do love seeing the wall of children's art and local flyers posted near the entrance. The kitchen is close to the seating so you can see everything pop out of the cook's window and the server's darting about! I do come often with friends and I think I make myself a little too recognizable, because we've got a favorite waitress. Love coming, going to keep coming. I decided to try Little Green Onions because the other cafe across the parking lot had really terrible coffee the last two times I was there. Unfortunately, the coffee was not any better at LGO and the only choice of sweeteners were sugar or Sweet and Low. I ordered the breakfast special of two eggs over medium, pancakes, and hashbrowns plus I ordered a side of 2 sausage. The eggs were undercooked with the white still runny. The hash browns tasted OK, but were not crisp. The pancakes were fluffy, but not flavorful in any way. The syrup was a really cheap brand that tasted more like corn syrup with a little maple flavoring. I also did not like that they put the pancakes on the same plate on top of everything else. I wished they could have been served on a separate plate like other places do. The sausages were just two really small links for like $3.75. The total bill, with tax, was over $19 for just my meal. I'm giving 2 stars for the servers because they were very nice and attentive. I know restaurants are struggling right now with egg prices and all, but I still feel that LGO is too pricey for the quality of food and the way it was prepared. read more

How many little cafes do you know that take breakfast reservations? Well this place does! We had a group of 10 and they even did 5 separate checks! They have a back room with large tables to seat large parties. Our server Tammy was stellar! She had a big smile the whole time, got all our orders correct and out timely. She was super helpful and very attentive. The food was really good too. I had the Avocado Egg and Cheese burrito and added beans and salsa. The burrito was really good and their beans are delicious! My hubby had the French toast with eggs, bacon & sausage. It was all cooked perfect and very tasty. The Huevos Ranchos looked so good and the couple really liked it. In fact everyone liked their food. I was so hungry I forgot to take photos! :( It was busy on a Saturday morning and it's in a strip mall with limited parking. Came midafternoon on taco Thursday which starts at three. $1.50 ground beef tacos. Big tacos with lots of very flavorful beef. Some people may think they're greasy, but they were juicy just like I really like them. It wasn't crowded and service was very fast, thorough and friendly. Michele brought extra napkins without being asked. Very attentive. Very clean. Extensive Mexican and American menu. All day breakfast. I think it gets VERY busy for weekend breakfasts. This is my favorite little spot in Riverside. I like the ambiance and customer service. It's family owned atmosphere and people make it such a nice treat. I was the taco champion back in 2008, with 23 tacos on Thursday night. Try to beat me or just enjoy those tacos. They used to be $.75 each but now it's $1.50 each on Thursdays. Because of the corona virus we had to sit outside under this canopy as sultry air flows around you. I'm giving this place a 3 star for its basic atmosphere and basic food.
