My favorite instructors are Amy K, Amy B, Maddie, Moji, and Sabrina. It's an actual workout. Not as challenging as Lagree but still quite challenging especially if you push yourself. I love that it's a small studio which makes it very intimate. All the instructors make it a point to remember your name and I love that. I recommend doing a stretch class if it's your first time. I strolled over for a reformer class today and was lucky enough to get a private class (because the studio *just* opened about a week ago and the classes have not yet filled up). I doubt one will be able to draw on that kind of luck for long. Véronique is a skillful and thoughtful instructor, and it was a pleasure having her put me through my paces on the reformer. As for the studio (a sunny corner one block of Haight street that has been home to an Auntie Pasta [remember that place??], a web design firm, and most recently, an architectural office) it's been beautifully renovated. It's bright, clean, well organized, and all the equipment is brand-spanking new. Soulful Pilates gest 4 stars for awesomeness, and a one-star bonus for being so close to my house.

I have been going to Heartcore on and off for over 6 months, and I've enjoyed every class I've…read moretaken so far! I appreciate the Off Peak class pricing in this economy, and I tend to book those classes since they're cheaper. These classes are often taught by Krystal and Sunny, and they've quickly become my favorites! They're so patient with newer members. I don't like being touched by instructors during my workouts when they're trying to correct my form, and Krystal+Sunny are able to tell me verbally how to correct my form without touching me. I get a great workout and I'm noticing results - my biceps are getting more muscular as I've become more consistent in the last two months!

Unfortunately, the studio has a noticeable odor at times, which makes it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the class. Cleanliness and air quality are especially important in a hot yoga environment, so this stood out. Additionally, while I respect the experience of the instructors, a lot of classes felt weighed down by negative energy. A yoga space should feel uplifting and supportive, but at times it came across as tense rather than encouraging. Bringing in young instructors who project more positive, fresh, and motivating energy could really enhance the overall atmosphere. I believe this place has potential, but a few changes could make a big difference in how students feel during and after class.

Her last gave me the perfect amount of soreness for a few days. I do feel stronger since I'm have been doing Pilates for a few months now. I had a class with Beyzu Nur a few days ago she was ok in comparison. She covered all the muscle groups but her class felt more like a checklist she read off. My tips if you're new is the yellow spring is good way to bump up the tension or remove to drop down the tension a notch. If you're using the ball against the side of reformer: use the belly of the ball against the middle of the wood plank on the side of the reformer to be more stable because there is more surface area making contact. If your standing on one leg, your leg should always be touching the side wood of the reformer. Moving closer to or away from footbar when standing can make the movement easier or harder.

As a mom of three finding "me time" is a rarity, especially with a newborn, but I'm so happy that I used this time on finally trying this class! I decided to start with the Beginner's Foundation class with Sofia, and she was awesome! Sofia was upbeat, patient, and super attentive throughout. She made sure everyone in class had great form and she kept the energy high the entire time. The class was pretty challenging and worked muscles I didn't even know could be targeted. My abs, hips, lower back, and core were all on fire and sore for days(in the best way!) My partner joined me, and we both walked out of the studio smiling and sweaty, trying to plan our next Pilates session. The vibe was perfect for beginners as it was welcoming, supportive, and overall motivating. Can't wait to return to WestCore. We are officially hooked!

I am still a beginner in lagree, and have taken a few classes already, but Mona recommended strongly that I should have taken a foundations class first. I understand that each lagree studio works differently and has different techniques, but she might have been right. However, Mona was really supportive of me, fixing my form throughout class and I really appreciated that! The reformers here could tilt up/lay flat, and it def seem bigger than most reformers I've tried. They have so many big dyson fans around the studio! A suggestion that I would make would be having small amenties in the restroom; hair ties, spray deodorant would be a great touch. If you forget to bring grippy socks, it will be $15 and they have it right in front of the studio.
