This is the BEST pizza on the NorthShore. The sauce is different as it is sweet, so I think it's probably a love/ hate thing with this place. That being said, there is no possibility of this pizza just being average. If you like it, you'll LOVE it. I recommend ordering just plain cheese with extra sauce. Boy does their pizza suck. Best thing about it is the pizza is the sweet sauce. But it has a major flop issue, you can't pick up a slice by hand, you must use a spatula. As you go to eat it, all the ingredients will run off the front of the slice. read more

The pizza looked good the chef brought it to the table, right from the oven. It was round, sauce looked good. And the cheese was lookin good, not too much. We bit into it. I thought I was in a candy shop! It did not taste like pizza. I think you have to acquire a taste for that substitute for a pizza. This place is bomb.com! The pizza is so delicious. You can get the sweet sauce (highly recommended) or the traditional sauce. A large pizza is enormous and only like $12. We usually get a banana pepper and pepperoni pizza and it's just wonderful. Can't be beat on quality, quantity and price! read more

I am a huge fan of the pizza at Little Italy...HOWEVER, after my experience there last week, I've had to rethink my opinion of the restaurant. I was absolutely unimpressed by the service--the employee was downright rude right to our faces. My friends and I were craving some pizza after the beach around 8:30pm, and when we ordered, we got snippy remarks about how there were no slices left, and when we needed a second to order, the employee was outwardly annoyed. He was slamming the oven door open and closed, and when someone he knew walked in, he was throwing the F word around left and right. I even had to tell him to stop being rude right to his face. NOT IMPRESSED with the service here, but again, the pizza is great. read more

Great pizza and it is thing crust. I bought a pizza half buffalo chicken and half mushroom but the half with mushrooms was raw and the mushrooms were to thick so they had trouble cooking which watered down that half of the pizza not allowing it to cook. I ended up bringing up a slice to show the cashier and she was very rude about handling my complaint but questioning me I said it was raw pizza. I proceed to show her the pizza then she looked at me like I was wrong and told me they could make me another pizza in a very condescending way. I wasn't purposely looking for a refund or new pizza but I wasn't going to eat half of the $20 pizza that was raw. Despite all that the cook Garret was a wonderful man that immediately justified the situation but making another whole pizza for me even offered toppings but I declined on the toppings. I was then told the his sales manager had went on vacation and didn't tell him so he was getting the wrong orders of veggies for everything. I blame the upper manager on this one. What the heck, Little Italy? I've been a staunch supporter for years, defending you against naysayers and ignoring your lack of flash in favor of your spectacular food. Now you hire some new guy that needs to wear a hair net & doesn't, that doesn't keep the garlic, cheese, red pepper, or S&P shakers clean, and that doesn't notify customers that their pizza is done when they've been waiting in the shop the whole time, so by the time they get it's cold. Seriously? What. The. Frak. I've gone a couple times with this new guy at the helm, hoping it was just my hate of unrestrained Hipster hair(that halo headband don't count, guy)that was making it less enjoyable. Nope. The thing that finally clinched the loss of stars was the time we tried to shake garlic onto our pizza & the shaker was so covered in grease & straight up grime that we couldn't get any out. Then, when I brought it to the guy behind the counter's attention he didn't clean it. I hate sweet pizza sauce. I love Little Italy. That ought to say it all right there. It even oversteps the boundary of a "hint" of sweetness--no, it's overtly there and present through every bite, yet they've managed to do it in a way that's not overpowering. The thick cheese goes a long way towards balancing the sweet-savory dimension, and the crust is just crispy enough to hold it all together. A great local joint that's a step apart from the innumerable Greek or Chain pizza places. read more

This is by far my favorite pizza. I have become a Beverly regular, and this is definitely somewhere you should check out if you're in the area. I don't know any pizza like it around me. Now, it's the kind of pizza you will either absolutely love or absolutely hate because they use a sweet sauce, and I personally love it. I called tonight to order a pizza, someone picked up the phone and said "We're not taking any orders for at least a half hour." click. No "I'm sorry, we're really backed up now, it will be at least an hour wait." They wouldn't even take the order and hung up before I could ask why. Why would someone call back after that? Beverly is a city of 1,000 pizza shops, and none of them are good. This place is considered the best, and I think it's brutal. The tomato gravy is as sweet as sugar water, crust not cooked, and cheese the lousiest. Coming from Boston area, I guess my tastes and standards are high for pizza, but this has to be one of the stand out "worst pizzas ever" for me. read more

Long overdue review. I've been going here since "Mama & Papa" came up here from Jersey, & opened this place, many years ago.. There have been at least a couple of changes in ownership since then, but the pizza is still great! I suppose I can understand why some don't like the sweet sauce, but I say, try it before you judge. To me, it's amazing! The crust, & the toppings are also great. I'd call it "medium thin". I also love the old time, Beverly storefront atmosphere (I grew up here, so this is "retro" to me). Beer & wine also available. I'm a pizza aficionado; as such, I have no one favorite pizza. This, however, is one of my favorites! read more

this is my favorite pizza in the area! you will love it if you love sweet, thin pizza with plenty of topping options...do not go expecting bubbly Italian or greecy Greek pizza.. the prices are really cheap in my opinion, a large with three toppings is only about $13. Not bad pizza. Nothing compares to the Pizza Nazi's pizza though. The old owners used to make the BEST PIE in Beverly. Plus they used to fight in front of you making the experience that much more enjoyable. This pizza's sauce is decent but not like the original. The staff can be a little friendlier too. back in the day a little old angry Italian lady would literally scare you out of this place almost before you got your food but it was till worth i then and its still worth it now. They just started serving alcohol a couple years ago here and that's always a plus in my book. This is the original home of the signature 'sweet' sauce Sicilian pizza in Beverly. obviously if your not a sweet sauce fan i don't recommend it but if your open to different kinds of pie hit it up for sure. a good compliment to the sweet sauce is to get salty topping such as salami or pepperoni (believe me its unbelievable). I absolutely LOVE this place!!! The sweet sauce is out of this world. Some people don't like it, but I adore it! If I had to pick one pizza to eat for the rest of my life, this would be it!
