As they say when it ain't broke don't fix it! This thin crust hand tossed pizza has been consistently great for the past 40+ years. I don't know if its the sauce,cheese or toppings but it has a real delicious flavor and hasn't changed since day one. Its not raw tomato taste or overly cheesy. Roccos pizza was recommended to me by my coworkers. I was able to make my first trip the other night. The inside definitely has a 90s feel which I totally appreciate. This was great pizza ! It reminded me of Bianchis pizza but maybe a little better for sure. We also tried the steak and cheese (not pictured) , I would recommend toasting the bread but I really liked how cheesy it was. Rocco's has the BEST pizza in Danvers. Hands down, no competition!! While this no frills pizza shop might look unassuming, they pack the punch with their pies. We've never gotten a topping combo that we didn't like, but I very highly recommend adding fresh garlic to any pie you order. They add huge flakes of it - exactly what the doctor ordered. Love this pizza place. Small and just perfect located in downtown. It's been there for as long as I can remember. I always try and get some Rocco's pizza whenever I go back to visit. It never disappoints and always leaves me smiling. They have a plethora of Italian dish options but the pizza is the best. We even ordered a few Whoopie pies this time around too. You really can't go wrong with the pizza. Thin crust, perfect amount of cheese and toppings. Absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly and the storefront itself is classic. It has a warm feel to it and reminds me of growing up. Definitely recommend whether you dine in or take out. read more

Just WOW. What a great experience. Found this place from a google search for sheet pizza and delivery to a nearby park. Very friendly staff when calling to inquire so I went ahead and ended up ordering three sheet pizzas to be delivered for my sons first birthday party. The weather wasn't cooperating and although the party was covered the delivery driver had to walk from his car to our party. This guy trucked it out of his car into the torrential monsoon with our three sheet pizzas. He deserves a raise. THANK YOU. The pizza was fresh and delicious. They opened only a half an hour prior to its arrival. Multiple people at the party commented on how good it was. A few people mentioned going there when they were kids and it's just as good. Not sure if I was living under a rock never trying this place before but I'm a fan! Can't wait to try more items for takeout. Bravo! read more

I ordered a large cheese pizza approximately 4 moths ago and I absolutely loved it. When you picked it up the tip bent down, crust soft on inside and crunchy on the outside, nice amount of grease and cheese. I have since ordered again on 4 different occasions and it was not as good, very disappointing. I'm seriously considering buying somewhere else. I don't know if they have a different cook? read more

I picked up a couple subs here on Thursday 1-9. Please check enclosed picture of my Large Italian The only thing large about this sub is the bread they put it on and the amount of lettuce they use to fill space that should be occupied by meat & cheese. Check it out, would you be satisfied with this? On top of that they did not include the hot peppers and oil I requested. The other sub I ordered was a small ham & cheese, once again the amount of meat and cheese was minuscule. Based on this waste of money I would not return here nor would I recommend this place. read more

What an old school gem! If you are old enough to remember what good pizza tasted like, this place will feel like a time machine for your taste buds. Clearly frozen in time, and that's a good thing! Pizza is thin and salty with a nicely seasoned sauce. The outer crust comes out very crispy. The pepperoni is the star of the show. Cupping style with very distinct, old school flavor. I spent a year searching for the perfect pepperoni pizza in MA and this is it. Actually I found it on my 4th try, but sent a year looking to see if there was better, and there isn't! ;-) Thank God I only live 20 minutes away. Ordered a Buffalo Chicken Calzone got a BBQ calzone. Never heard of BBQ Chicken Calzone. I was looking at the menu I didn't even see a BBQ chicken. The guy offered to make a new one. I figured how bad could it be. These guys are American got how do you confuse Buffalo and BBQ. Was suppose get Ranch gave the wrong sauce. Undercooked the dough is chewy. Haven't had Rocco's for a long while, so we ordered last night. Everything was terrible. The pizza was so greasy and the dough tasted stale. The chicken wings had so much sauce on them, they were soggy. On top of that, the online ordering system adds $1 fee and the tip is automatically calculated and added as a default. You can change the tip but defaults and adds on automatically. We won't be ordering from them again. read more

I hate rating restaurants poorly but we've tried the pizza twice and it's absolutely awful. Everything tastes super salty (and I love salt so that's saying something), there is no flavor to the cheese - honestly no flavor in general. Toppings are just a whisper of flavor. The worst cold sub I have ever had! I ordered an Italian with everything on it an there was literally one piece of salami, 2 pieces of cheese, 3 pickles , 5 small pieces of lettuce, 8 small slivers of onions and this huge sub roll. Not impressed with that, so do not order a sub. The pizza looked and smelled delicious though. The service was good. I may have to try another time, but only for the pizza. read more

I hadn't tried Rocco's before but my friend lives down the street and we got a cheese pizza. I thought it was delicious. I have gone there two more times recently and the pizzas were great both times. I got a sausage and pepperoni, and today the chicken bacon alfredo. I looked this place up after I moved to the area. Small family owned and run place, very friendly. The pie is essential thin crust very similar to the New York thin crust, but not the same. Regardless, these folks make a good pie that simple, no frills. Loved it. If you didn't grow up eating this pizza, there will be no nostalgia effect and you will probably not enjoy it. I find the place to be an uninspired dive kind of joint, with terribly greasy pizza even for a plain cheese. The crust is thin but the cheese is low quality, leading to your hand dripping in grease as you fold up a slice and have at it. The sauce tastes canned is nothing memorable. There is a much better pizza joint about 150 meters down the road and unless you're going for some weird greasy nostalgia, you'd be better off walking past Rocco's and going there. read more

Three generations of pizza makers under one roof. When considering local joints I really don't pay too much mind for silly things like ambiance, I simply care about its cleanliness and the taste of what comes out. Rocco's definitely delivers on both. My typical place to stop and eat on my way to Crane Beach (or coming back), their subs and pizza are really excellent. I've seen a lot of people complain about the greasy nature of the pizza, it is on the greasy side, but I don't count it as a negative, the pizza holds up and the dough (made fresh daily) is really tastey. They have a pretty typical menu, but everything is prepared well. I reccomend Steakbomb sub, or a hamburger calzone with cheddar cheese bacon and bbq sauce (first dish I ever had there it was fantastic!) If Rocco's has been around so long they must be doing something right. I highly reccomend giving them a shot. read more

7.25.07 -- This is the first time I've eaten at Rocco's Pizza. I ordered a steak cheese and mushroom sub and a soft drink. It was eerily quite when I stepped in at 6pm. I was there to meet three friends for a meeting. I asked the order-taker if he was the owner, he said, "no, but I do everything". He has worked there for 20 years. He was nice, but not much of a talker. A waitress came with a tray of drinks. My cup of coke tasted a bit flat. My steak sub arrived soon after. It was good. Verdict: If you need to get a quick bite, Rocco's is an option. It's well lit and looks clean. However, there's no ambience; it's atmospherically dull. Nothing wrong with that. read more

GREASE truly is the word! The pizza from this restaurant was extremely greasy - and not in a finger lickin' good way! We ordered a Greek salad to split. The dressing was your average Greek dressing. It was good but nothing fabulous. The salad itself was rather "blah." Iceberg lettuce, one or two half slices of cucumber, a few tomato wedges, crumbled feta, and a few olives. Again, nothing fabulous. The pizza we ordered had pepperoni (note: these were little slices of pepperoni where the edges curl up when cooked - not my preference but kind of cute swimming in all of the grease), half mushroom, and half fresh sliced tomato. Did I mention the puddles of grease on top of this thing? Also, the crust was almost none existent. Thin crust can be good from time to time, but this was a soggy, limp thin crust. The sprinkled oregano on the pizza was the best thing about it. Overall, stick with pizza from Giovanni's - even though you have to pick it up! Or Panini Pizzeria - they now deliver!! read more
