I stayed next door at Streamline Hotel with rooftop bar (cool but one-time thing--far from peaceful). Anyway, this is right next door. I wasn't sure what to expect because while most reviews are great, some are very low (mostly due to service). I sat at the bar and had good service. I didn't love that the credit card up-charge wasn't indicated on the menu, but they did come back to explain that you only pay the advertised price on the menu if you pay with cash. Whatever. Anyway, the Chicken Parm was a much larger portion than I expected and very good. Definitely recommended! Pasta was good but a little thick for Angel Hair (no big deal). Bread was good. Overall, even despite the up-charge, you get great value here based on size and quality of meal for the price you pay. Go for it! read more

Fish had no seasoning and came with a slice of lemon. Large portion but seasoning is needed. I had the Lasagna which was very thick and cheesy. Red sauce was sweet and good. It's the beginning of bike week (yikes.. need to plan better next year) so were looking for a good restaurant that wasn't overcrowded with tatt'd, harley wearing, loud bikers. The supreme shrimp at $30 had 13 large shrimp just a tad over done and saturated in their butter sauce (order it light on the sauce). My wife had the eggplant parmigiana which was a very large serving so she shared some of her pasta with me and it was perfect. She devoured the eggplant, no sharing of that veggie. The table was set with a cloth top and a paper overlay, paper napkins at the tables but surprisingly the bar patrons got cloth napkins which should also be at the tables for the prices. I was craving Italian and we passed by here and turned around as it looked appealing. It was 6pm on a Friday and there were only 2 tables of customers, so we were happy they had room for us. The I side is very cute, and they also have outside dining. There's is a nice bar when you walk in, which looked nice. The only odd thing was that the music they had playing was a radio station, so you heard commercials. Very odd. Our server was super friendly and quickly got the glass of wine I ordered. There were a variety of wines you could get by the glass. The menu was full of a variety of pastas, as well as chicken and seafood dishes. I wanted pasta, and settled on the gnocchi. They brought Italian bread while we were waiting, along with a pesto topping. It was less than 5 minutes later and our food arrived. It was piping hot, and looked and smelled wonderful. Our server brought parmesan cheese and I was ready to go. This gnocchi was great! They were light dough balls that practically melted in your mouth. The sauce was every bit as good. Service was great the entire time. My reasoning for 4 stars is that we felt they were trying to turn out table over so fast, even though there were mostly empty tables. I'm a first generation Italian with experience in the hotel restaurant industry and although the food is very good, there are other considerations that take this rating down. Way down. 1. The owner doesn't engage with his clientele. He, after all this time, we should know his name, but he has never even introduced himself. In fact, he FaceTimes his friends or family at his bar, which I find very rude. 2. We frequently visit Limoncello in NSB, Little Italy on Beach Street, and Tiano's at Daytona One and are friendly with the owners who appreciate our friendship and patronage! 3. Lastly, we gave him an opportunity before we left to say thank you and goodnight, he couldn't even make eye contact. We will stay with our favorites and not return ... he (nameless) will not understand. Hopefully this will help others choose wisely. read more

Took my wife here for a quiet midday meal during our November vacation. The place had a nice set up and only a couple other people there during our time. Our server informed us she had only been there a week, so she was worthless when it came to asking for suggestions regarding the choices. I ordered the chicken parm, along with a side of meatballs and sausages. The chicken and sausages were very hard to cut, as they were overcooked, as were the meatballs. I requested to change it to the lasagna, which appeared hot when it came out, but once you got down to the bottom, turned out ice cold, which may have indicated the untrained use of a microwave. My wife's veal parm had the same issue of being overcooked, but she felt bad that I requested a new plate and decided just to stick with the poor example of a meal she received. As if the meals were bad enough, the manager/owner would not stop coming over to the table and striking up meaningless conversations. I understand greeting the customers, but leave them alone to enjoy their time. Instead of the serving checking on the new product brought to the table, she instead watched Family Feud from the bar. To top it all off, the place did not offer a veteran discount, on Veterans Day? All in all, I would say the place is too overpriced for poor product and service. This place was deceiving! The ambience was nice and we had the sweetest server. But then the food happened. Our bread was burned (black) at the bottom and we couldn't tell if we were given a clump of herbs or butter to spread on it. The entrées were tasteless! That's putting it nicely. They used an entire tree branch of rosemary on the tilapia. It was pan fried with absolutely no seasoning. Just a huge branch of rosemary that completely engulfed the fish. The mashed potatoes were just there. No butter, no salt, no cream. Tasted just like Idaho instant potatoes straight out of the box. Don't get me started on the seasonal vegetables. 2 huge zucchini chunks barely cooked, BUT that's where seasoning was used... on one side. It was raw, hard, and Luke warm. My husband didn't believe me, so I kept hitting it with my fork so he could hear how hard it was. Guess who didn't finish their pasta dish? He didn't. The only thing on that plate that tasted like anything was the mozzarella that was used to cover up the bland chicken breast that looked boiled. Almost $100 wasted! Don't bother! read more

Italian food is the dish I can't stay from, and the first restaurant I look for when I travel. Thus I came upon Rossellinis during my recent Daytona trip. It's located right on the strip, and the flavors & portion sizes are very close to my favorite Italian place back home. I called literally a couple of hours before and was able to get seated on a Memorial Weekend Saturday night. Despite them having a few large tables, service was pretty attentive. Vacations call for bottles, and mine was their Casteggio Moscato. Light, sweet and with the fizz a good Moscato should have it was a refreshing wine fit for the start of summer. Since calories don't count on vacation, I started with their caprese al forno. Picture your classic caprese salad with fresh basil leaves & large slices of beefsteak tomatoes. Before adding in the mozzarella, drizzle it in sweet balsamic and bake it in the oven. Yep, the sweetness was baked in & tasted great. Chicken parm was next, and just like with my spot back home it took me awhile to finish the generous filet with its melted mozz, robust marinara (boosted with pepper flakes) and al dente pasta. Bread was served with something that looked and tasted a little like pesto, but with the the wrong color and consistency. For dinner, I had the pasta carbonara, my daughters had pappardelle with bolognese and kids spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was drowning in sauce. We were with another mom and daughter who ordered an appetizer and entree to share. Server asked if she would like the kitchen to put the entree on two plates and she said sure. They were quite surprised when the check came to have a $4 charge for that. The crazy thing is even after my friend expressed her surprise and frustration, the restaurant argued with her about it being on the menu. Keep in mind, the plates were tiny, nothing extra provided other than two plates. It wasn't the $, but the principle. One plus was the server was really friendly. Appetizers and salads delivered at same time even though I requested that the serving be spaced out. Server forgot to bring my glass of wine and did not refill water. Plates were left on the table throughout the entire meal. We ordered the Antipasto, Caesar salad, angle hair pasta with meatballs and Veal Parmigiana. Mediocre Antipasto, no anchovies on the salad though clearly part of the menu description. Veal was over cooked. Angel Hair pasta and Meatballs were very tasty. The ambiance was clean and pleasant. I'll go back again because I'm hopeful that improvements may be made. My opinion is that the clientele is constantly changing as it should being a resort area. Horrible. Horrendous. Never ever will come back. Here for a holiday basketball tournament and had the players and parents split at different tables. Asked for bread at the players table and waitress said it was coming. After 15 minutes we asked again and she said it's coming. The waitress didn't even go back to check she was at the bar the whole time and never even checked in on us. The players did not get their food until 45 minutes to an hour after the fact that the parents were done eating. Also the food did not come out all at once. One plate came out every 10-15 minutes. Waitress came out to refill water an hour after we were done with our first glass. Waitress and kitchen got basically every order wrong when they came out with each plate. We had to send back every single one because they either had shrimp on it for some reason when no one ordered pasta with shrimp. We also had children under 10 who ordered simple buttered noodles and got their plates last! Moral of the story never ever go to this restaurant. read more
