A very cute and trendy place that is just ok! Stopped here while in town visiting friends! Off the bat things were great! We were able to make a last minute reservation, were seated right away and our server greeted us right away!! Then our toddler needed a diaper change....there was no changing table in the restroom. So we had to change her at our table. (Pad was placed down for sanitation). Once our food arrived things started to shift a bit. Two of our meals came right away, then all of our condiments (ketchup, hot sauce, jelly, ranch, etc), then the next two meals and finally a side. Spacing seemed a bit off especially because the restaurant wasn't that busy! My hot honey sandwich was delicious! Chicken was perfectly cooked and breaded!! The fries were also amazing!! My friend's frittata on the other hand, was seriously overcooked and there was a funky smell coming from the cast iron. I ordered the filet and it was probably one of the best I've had in awhile with Brussels sprouts and fries. Just went to the Vault. I will not have to worry about my next visit, there won't be one. It was supposed to be happy hour. It wasn't. Service was slow and bad. Bartender didn't even know how to make a old fashion. No happy hour food menu. Took 55 minutes for a hamburger and a flatbread. I could have waited longer after tasting it. Not good. The old fashion was terrible. Obviously their still was broke, the bourbon they used tasted like bad cough syrup. I had really good expectations going in and bad coming out. Like a bad song. Came here for a birthday dinner and the staff was very attentive. The restaurant is small and has a nice ambiance for a date night. They have a large drink list and food. We ordered several appetizers and the steak tips and egg rolls were great. We ordered steaks all were done well. Overall a great time out and we will be back. read more

Stopped in for the first time. We sat outside which is a cozy little area in the front with two tables .They have cute solar lamps on the table as well as some floor lamps which are a great touch. Our server was wonderful. Friendly and very helpful when it came to working with my food issues. I ordered the Filet and my husband ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop. Our dinners came with a salad which was very tasty. Dinner- Filet 6 oz- The presentation was nice. The Steak however was overcooked. Our server agreed and apologized and took it back to the kitchen. Unfortunately she left my potato and the asparagus which were so overcooked they just shredded when I attempted to cut through them. I covered it with a napkin to keep warm. She returned a bit later this time with a very very raw steak. So we had to send it back as it was too raw to eat. I told my husband to go ahead and eat his dinner at this point as he was waiting for me. They refired it but at this point it was no longer juicy from being cut into and refired. My potato was cold as well. I just ate it since I was hungry and I want to eat with him. Tomahawk Pork - Looked delicious. The flavor was good, the sweet potato mash was good but he thought the pork itself was tough and overpriced. Our server gave us a complementary dessert. We chose the Limoncello Cake. Wow!! Amazing. They don't make it in house sadly because I might have purchased one for a birthday coming up. I also had an Espresso Martini which was good. Not everything was perfect, steak gets overcooked. A bit of heat, we were just a little thrown off by the tomato paste like sauce underneath. For entrees I had the mushroom ravioli - good. Not a fan of the kale with it, would have preferred spinach and it was very heavy. Definitely recommend but would go with a lighter fair next time. My husband had the mussel appetizer for his entree - he loves a garlicky white wine sauce with his mussels which it seemed like he would get based on the menu description. It was more or a light red sauce. Our server Kelani (I believe that was her name) was very attentive and kept our glasses full! First of all, I love to check out new spots and The Vault has been on my list for quite some time. This dining experience was well overdue and it was finally time to celebrate. I found out that they do take reservations on Open Table, but the weekends are booked out for months. Fenton is about an hour from my house and I didn't know if I would be able to snag a table, so I decided to spin the wheel of fate and head to Fenton anyway. I love downtown Fenton; it holds a very special place in my heart, so going back to visit was a welcomed adventure anyway. Walking through the door, I was greeted by a warm, friendly smile. I explained my long anticipated journey to The Vault and the hostess remarked, I have a special spot just for you! WHOOP WHOOP!!! What a Kismet Night this was going to be. The Vault was on SLAM for a Friday night. The layout of the space is unique with two floors and a bar located on each level. Plush velvet booths line the perimeter and oversized, leather sofas create a communal space for larger groups on the main level. The 1st floor bar is quite expansive and a private table for 8 can be reserved in the former vault of the building. A tall stairway leads you to the second floor, which has a very hip vibe and fun interior. The bar upstairs is much smaller, but the bartender kept the party rolling! The second floor was most certainly where the party was at last night. We were seated with a fun group of locals who kept us entertained for the evening. They even bought me a few drinks for my belated celebration. By this time, I was starving!!!! I couldn't wait to try a few items on the menu. Being a more upscale restaurant, I thought the menu options were fantastic and the price point, spot on. The crafted cocktail & wine list is quite extensive. The cocktails were AMAZING! My favorite drink was the Alarm Clock: Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur, Simple Syrup, Lemon, Dandelion, and BUBBLES!!!! Did you hear that....BUBBLES!!!!!!! OMG.....the best drink, I've ever tasted and that says a lot! I indulged and had two of them. I also tasted the League of Shadows, which contains Valentine's White Blossom Vodka, and The Principal, which was so unique in flavor: Mammoth Rye Whiskey, Mammoth Coffee Liqueur, Cinnamon Infused Carpano Antica, Vanilla Infused Nocino, and Ango & Spiced Cherry Bitters. The Vault is known for their seafood and prime beef options on the menu. We ordered the Shrimp Rockefeller, Mussels A Diablo, Crab Hush Puppies with caper remoulade, Seafood Crab Bisque, the Hand Cut Filet Mignon with Mushrooms, Asparagus, & Diced Potatoes. We went a little overboard on the food, but we were able to split everything. The Shrimp Rockefeller was amazing, the sauce for the mussels packed a little heat and the addition of sausage to the sauce, perfection! The soup was rich and creamy, served with a generous amount of crab meat on top. The Hushpuppies were good, and the 8oz. Filet was perfectly cooked. We ordered mushrooms for the steak, which I recommend. They also make their own steak sauce, which is a bit more on the sweet side but pairs perfectly with the meat. For dessert, we opted for the Caramel Mascarpone Cheesecake with Strawberries on top. One word: Divine! Overall, I would give The Vault 10+* if it were an option! I wanted to like The Vault, I really did but unfortunately our experience kept me from leaving with a positive opinion. While the service was friendly and the space itself is absolutely stunning- the food and its execution left a lot to be desired. I ordered the steak at my usual temperature, medium rare, and it came out well done zero pink. Sent it back and asked for rare this time to air on the side of caution and it still came out well. By this time my dinner companions had already finished their meals. I ate maybe half of the steak out of pure hunger but sad to say, I did not enjoy it. I boxed up the rest of my steak but I tossed it out when I got home. I'd maybe stop in for a drink just to enjoy the ambiance but I'm in no hurry to eat here again. read more

Such a neat little place! The decor really gives The Vault a cool vibe. My husband and I stopped in because The Laundry was closed, and we were super happy with our visit. We split a Seafood Bisque, and we both thought it was some of the best we had ever had. The soup was thicker than I expected, and had a rich flavor. The crab and shrimp were plentiful, so I would defiantly order this again. My husband wants his own next time. We split a Kansas City Strip Steak and ordered a Zip Sauce on the side. The highlight of the dish was the Asiago Gnocchi. They are deep fried to a crispy brown, and have a tender cheesy interior. I could have been happy with a plate of just gnocchi! The steak itself was good, but not as outstanding as I would expect prime aged beef to taste. However, the accompanying mushroom brandy sauce was to die for! Buttery and creamy, with lots of mushrooms - Yum! It turned out we didn't even need the zip sauce, which didn't taste like I was expecting - too much vinegar or Worcestershire I think. We also split the Lobster Rolls. Both had lots of lobster meat, but I liked the hot, buttery roll better than the lobster salad one. It seemed like it needed more seasoning. My husband and I stopped by on a Friday without reservations and had about a 45 minute wait which I found totally reasonable. I came here for dinner with a small group. We were small enough to be able to eat in the old vault. Which was so much fun though, you definitely have to be willing to sit completely straight for the entire dinner. Being the vault was nice because it definitely helped to muffle the other tables noise. Our waiter was a lot of fun and very helpful in making good suggestions. There are a lot of fun drinks. One of ladies I was with had the locl red wine and she loved. It is made especially for the restaurant. I started with the seafood bisque at the suggestion of our waiter. It was so good and just the right amount of everything. I would definitely have it again; in fact I think I would always have it. I went ith 1/2 roasted chicken. It was good but parts of it were dry. The Polenta was nice and crisp. The vegetables were not overwhelming. Overall, it was a decent dish just not one that I would have again before trying more of the menu. I took the cheesecake home for the next day because I was completely full. The cheesecake was the right level of firm and tartness for me. The Strawberries were good. Parking is free and there is plenty of it around downtown Fenton. I would definitely come back. read more

We had noticed The Vault as we pass through town. It's website had a variety of interesting options. I called ahead at the end of the tournament. Although there were no available reservations, we were put on the waitlist. When we arrived, they were able to see this outside immediately. The drinks were a nice pour with spheres for of cubes. A great start. The meatballs and the crab hush puppies, both are insanely delicious. They could be a small meal unto themselves. I had the lobster rolls with fries. Yum! The fries were fresh cut and well done. The peppercorn aïoli was off the hook for dipping. My wife had the steak tips, Diane. Again, absolutely delicious. And our daughter had the steak frites. Perfect. Maybe it was the balmy mid 70s temperature on the Fenton streets, maybe it's because it was our anniversary, maybe it was because the team took home the win, whatever it was, everything really seem to be perfect. read more

I have been here 2 times now. The first time I was here with myself and one other person celebrating a joint business venture with my business partner. The bartender was very arrogant and had a poor attitude towards us. We spent $220.00 and left thinking the service and hospitality was poor at best. Almost a month later again to celebrate the next phase of our business success, gainst my better judgement we went there again this time there were three of us we once again had the same bartender/server and once again very rude. We spent $360.00 and I personally had the pleasure of being insulted by our bartender/server. I just tried to make her smile and she responded with a very rude reply to me. My boyfriend and I had a reservation on valentines and drove an hour to eat at Andiamo in Fenton but were turned away bc we were 1 min late after their "Grace period". Needless to say we were upset. I wanted to just go home at that point but we found The Vault was open and looked nice and was open until 10pm. I called to make sure they were still open and could serve us dinner and verified they were able to seat 2 people on Valentine's Day. They weren't too busy and when we walked in at about 9:30 and the host sat us, gave us menus and told us they closed at 10pm so we should order our food ASAP. We briefly explained our frustration about Amdiamo and she assured us "we came to the right place". We quickly picked out what we wanted to eat before the waitress even came over to take our drink order. She casually told us the kitchen was already closed. The second let down of the night on Valentine's Day. I REALLY wanted to go home now but my bf convinced me to get once nice drink so that we could have "something fancy" on Valentine's Day.
