Yep, it's little. This tiny gem holds only 4 tables but carryout business was brisk on the Sunday evening of our visit. Service was warm and friendly, and the owner emerged from the kitchen to greet us. A chop suey joint it's not; the food is Chinatown caliber and every dish is carefully prepared. We began with chicken egg rolls. Those were delicious, but our entrées - spicy garlic chicken and sesame chicken - were bursting with flavor. Portions are very generous. Our only grumble is their nickel-and-diming customers for sauces and rice, which should be included in the price of the meal. But they do have a generous rewards program. read more

I called and made a 6 pm dinner reservation for Christmas the week before. When we were on the way, I called to say that I was running late. The response was that we are not accepting eat ins today, so whoever made the reservation made a mistake. The person had no remedy for their error just that we could get take out in 2 1/2 hours. The manager, Stephanie, was in the kitchen and busy so could not talk to me. I was told that she would call me back and was hung up on without taking my number. I have always tried to give business to this restaurant particularly when it was really struggling during COVID and was going to lose its lease. Great carry out. Lan's does have a few tables but it's more of a neighborhood take-out. Their food is always fresh and tasty. Quality ingredients, beef is always tender. We had a fantastic dinner on Friday night. We feasted on potstickers, shrimp toast, pork fried rice, a ginger garlic steak dish, spicy garlic green beans and sesame noodles. It was our first time in the restaurant so we wanted to try a bit of everything. Every single dish was fantastic. We also shared a pot of hot jasmine tea. We are full and happy and apparently I was forgetful in my bliss. I actually forgot my purse in the restaurant that had my license, credit cards and much more cash than I normally carry. Little Lans tracked down my name and cell phone number and called me that they had my bag. I was blown away by their honesty. The food alone would have sealed the deal because we enjoyed so much but their thoughtfulness was next level. Little Lans now has a loyal customer and I highly recommend. read more

Had a great dinner. Despite being very busy with carry out orders, Brendan was attentive to our table. The Rangoon was very generous, with a sweet and sour sauce that seemed to have a honey taste to it, better than most we have had. The spicy Szechuan beef was just spicy enough to be enjoyable, and the Japanese veggie curry with rice was also aromatic and fresh. The miso soup was enough for 2.5 servings and tasted freshly made. The service had occasionally been spotty , but in the last several years it has become reliable again. So I have supported this place all through Covid. Always tipped 15% on all orders I pick up. So we ordered Garlic Shrimp, and it was total mush! Could not eat it! So I called the restaurant and simply said "we really didn't enjoy this dish, please just give us a credit on our next order." My total bill was $126.00. The woman owner decided to defend her dish, and tell me that the shrimp prices are very expensive, and no to a refund. So I got back in the car, drove the 15 mins to take it back. No apology, totally unacceptable reasoning. So Little LANs I cancelled the entire check, plus the 15% tip, and you will never see us again, and I truly hope you learn from this. DO NOT EAT HERE! I said I live 240 ft away (I normally walk), and the snotty guy (not the owner) insinuated why can't I walk. I said my heat was out and I'm sick (I've been freezing to death all weekend in a Hoffman Property apartment). He said he couldn't come until 8:15. I said defeatedly Well, I guess I'll starve. Love this family-owned restaurant! Jeffrey and his mom are attentive, sweet, plus the food is delicious! This is not the typical greasy, Americanized Chinese food you get at some other Chinese restaurants. The food quality and quantity are generous and their dishes use fresh ingredients. The restaurant itself has about 5 tables, but is nicely set up and in a great location. Street parking is easy, the neighborhood is cute with many other stores in the area if you're looking to do something before getting a meal. We had: Potstickers: Delicious! The skins were the thinner kind and were a little chewy, but the filling was perfectly balanced and it was fried just enough to have that crisp and chew. Crab rangoon: These blew me away. I'm used to small crab rangoons, or rangoons that skimp on the filling. The crab rangoon here were huge, with plenty of flavorful filling. Family Tofu: This was surprisingly my favorite dish, being a non-vegetarian. The tofu was thick and meaty, the veggies were all super fresh, and the sauce wasn't overpowering or too cornstarch-y, like so many places can be. Asparagus & Pea Pods: The veggies were large, surprisingly fresh and tender, with the lightest and most basic of sauces, that just let the veggies shine. Beef & Broccoli: This wasn't the usual greasy mess you find at other restaurants. The broccoli was tender, the beef was velvety soft, with a delicious brown sauce. Basil Chicken: This one was admittedly a little salty, but loved the chunks of chicken and the simplicity of the dish. Chicken Lo-Mein: The chicken was super tender and soft, the veggies were fresh, the noodles were bouncy/tender. The pot stickers were delicious on the outside although the "stuffing" could have been of higher quality. The cashew chicken was good although there was very little chicken and lots of vegetables. Perhaps that is the way they serve it. In all, it was okay but we have had much better. read more

I asked the waiter (or owner??) what's authentic and he recommended the Ma Po Tofu, Crispy Duck, Manchurian Beef. We got the Ma Po Tofu and some other pork dish and really liked the tofu dish. Will return to try his other recommendations. Small place, friendly and prompt service. They've been there for 17 years. Ok this is not a great place but subpar. Most reviews are two years old and my recent experience tells me things have changed. Service is 3 stars. Solid and thoughtful. Food was really 2 stars and on par with a Panda Express in terms of quality. They have some good items but they don't seem fresh in terms of ingredients. I get the sense of frozen foods and things not freshly made. Had the Kung pao and spicy tofu and they were acceptable but not worth it. I got beef soft noodles and the steamed dumplings. The steamed dumplings were decent, but I kind of wished I'd gotten something other than the noodles. They were alright, but I've had better. I picked up lunch from here for the first time today. Walked in, but no one was there to meet me. A chef came out and after a couple minutes (which was all fine, as it allowed me to go over the menu). I ordered, and and said I'd be back in 15 minutes. I returned 35 minutes later, food was ready and hot. Took it back to the office, and dug in. The pot stickers were fantastic. They were fresh, and even though I ordered the fried instead of steamed (like I normally do) they tasted like they were recently made, not just thawed and cooked. I also had the Orange peel chicken. Again, the chicken was fresh, white meat. Every bite was consistent, and delicious. The sauce, though plentiful, didn't pack as much flavor as I expected. It also carried hints of other citrus, including mango. Overall, this is a nice takeout place. Based on the small size of the restaurant, I'm not sure if I'd dine-in here often, but I'll certainly order out from here in the future. read more

We just visited this restaurant and had to get up and leave after my husband ordered a martini and was served with a drink that contained about 30 dead fruit flies floating on the top. I guess they had not used their shaker in a while, and didn't bother to wash it before making his drink. What's even crazier is that they served him the drink that way. We didn't get a chance to try any food because we were too disgusted. We were the only customers in the restaurant. I guess most customers order take out from the place, but after what we were served, I have no desire to ever try it. We will never go back. read more

I have been ordering from Little Lan's for nearly 20 years, and I absolutely love the food. With that being said, due to my most recent experience, I will never order from there again. I ordered take out from Uber Eats, and my order was incomplete, and my sweet & sour chicken was missing. I called the store to politely tell them that the order was wrong, and the manager, who's name is Anna, proceeded to blame Uber Eats, claiming that I never ordered sweet & sour chicken, despite the fact that it was on my receipt and I paid for it. In an effort to get on the same page with her, I offered to send her a screen shot of the receipt, and what happened next put me in complete shock. She began screaming at me on the phone, telling me that "it's not her problem that Uber Eats got my order wrong", and went on and on, not even giving me an opportunity to talk. Once she got down from her soapbox, I asked her if "this is how you talk customer?" and her reply to that was "would you like for us to send you your missing food? Yes or no?". I said yes, and ended the conversation. 15 mins later, paranoid that this Anna woman might tamper with my meal, I decided to call back and tell her not to bother, I'm just going to request a refund on Uber Eats. Her reply was "sorry, we weren't sending the food out to you anyways, Uber Eats wouldn't let us". So basically, had I not called back to cancel my order, I would have been sitting there waiting for my MISSING food, assuming it was on its way. She couldn't even bother to call me and tell me that they weren't sending me my food. Listen, my family has been in the restaurant business for over 50 years, and the one thing I know is that employees who don't care about there customers this way, don't care about the food they serve either. I don't know if this restaurant is under new management or ownership, but I'm never going there again. At least until this Anna woman is fired. Great Chinese comfort take out food for a rainy night. The front desk is pleasant,personable and prompt. I stopped into order cashew chicken, garlic vegetables, and vegetable fried rice I waited only 10 minutes for the food. It was delicious.
