I ordered takeout from Thai Inbox in Wilmette and overall had a good experience, but with a couple of surprises. I got the combination fried rice and an order of crab Rangoon. The rice had great flavor and was nicely cooked, but I was a little confused to find broccoli in it -- something I've never seen in fried rice before. It made me wonder if it was being used as a filler. Also, for a combination fried rice, I was expecting more protein variety, but only received one shrimp, which was a bit of a letdown. On the bright side, the crab Rangoon was cooked to perfection -- crispy, golden, and deliciously creamy inside. I'd definitely come back to try other items, but I might ask a few questions before ordering next time! read more

I'm trying to save half my meal for tomorrow, but I keep on wanting just one more bite...it's so good! I must also comment on their consistency. My wife and I have been ordering from here for ten years, have had several different dishes, and not once have we ever been disappointed. The quality is there, every single time! And to me, that's the mark of an excellent restaurant. Unfortunately it's a bit of a drive, but no other Thai place (Or most other places, the food is generally awful where I live) around me delivers this kind of quality. At least Wilmette is a nice place to drive through. read more

Wow, comparable to Elephant Thai in Edgebrook and also Lai Thai in Morton Grove. What I like about Thai Inbox is that it's just 5 mins from Old Orchard mall - and that's a big plus for convenience. It's easy to park in this strip mall and the place is bright and clean. The service was excellent and the food was really good. The presentation was kicked up a notch from my typical brown bag lunch and I enjoyed that. The lunch specials were all very tasty and I'd like to come back here to try the other dishes and some Thai beer that I'm unfamiliar with. Hope to visit Thailand soon, so I can get an idea of the authenticity of these dishes. read more

My first experience with Thai Inbox was at their Glenview location. I thought the food was fairly good, but were not exactly the flavor profile I was looking for. Though it may be that I ordered different dishes at this location, I was happy with what I got. I recommend the green curry, but I'm also guessing all their other curries are fantastic. I also really enjoyed the Garlic Dish with beef. The next day I was actually really craving this as my leftovers! I'm glad I gave Thai Inbox another go! I'm looking forward to trying some of their other dishes as well. read more

GREAT Thai food, one of my favorites in the area. Prices are a bit higher than my local spots but their pad see ewe is so flavorful and delicious!! The egg rolls are fantastic too, definitely will be trying more on their menu the more I order. I ordered over the phone with no problems and picked up the food within 20 mins of ordering. Once you get there, you have to call again (their number is on the door if you forget) and they'll bring the food out to a table outside the entryway. You'll have to get out of your car to pick it up but that's totally fine because of how COVID safe it is! Other than it being slightly more expensive than other Thai in the area, this spot is definitely a north shore Thai staple. read more

Skip this place. I ordered beef pad thai and crab rangoon. The beef pad thai was unflavorful. The only thing I could taste was the fish sauce. Other than that there was no flavor! I was starving before ordering and couldn't even finish eating the pad thai for lack of taste and flavor. The crab rangoon should've been called cream cheese rangoon because every bite was cream cheese. I highly doubt there was any crab. The Thai Ice Tea was also bland. How can a Thai restaurant mess up thai iced tea? Not sure but was really disappointed in this place. I read the reviews ahead of time anticipating a good meal only to be disappointed. read more

Thai Inbox is a great option for Thai food in Wilmette. They have all your favorite Thai dishes and they prepare them really well. A few of my favorites (5 stars = amazing!) -Beef Salad -Pad Kee Mao -Tom Kha Soup Although I really enjoy ordering food from here, I do wish their portions were a bit bigger to match their price point. My biggest regret is that they don't deliver to California! I have family in Winnetka Illinois, and whenever I get to come home and visit, I always ask for Thai Inbox. I came back to ask and they informed them of this and they told me that they have no plates. They are exclusively to-go...how is this possible? We tried the lunch specials at Thai Inbox, carryout. Each lunch special is $8.50 and comes with a spring roll and a can of soda. The spring roll was quite tasty and the sauce they give you with it has a bit of a kick. The portion is the right amount for a meal. Partial to the container it comes in as well, a divided plastic container so that the spring roll doesn't get soggy from the food. Would say the food is more on the saltier end but tasty nonetheless. read more

I ordered edamame and a chicken pad Thai and I'm not sure why, but there seemed to be a very small portion of chicken in my pad Thai. I felt like ordering extra. Otherwise, it was OK. My mom and sisters found this place after moving to Wilmette in June. It is our go-to spot for Thai food! The restaurant is clean, bright, and has friendly workers :-) We love the pad siew tofu or chicken and pad thai. Both are flavorful and at least for to-go ordering, they serve 1-2 people per container. I also enjoy their thai iced tea!! I'm a fan of it really sweet, though this is more in the middle of the plain to sweet spectrum for those wondering:). Also, the wait has always been reasonable for pick-up orders. This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to in Northshore. Due to covid, they are currently only doing takeout and deliveries. The staff is always very polite and prompt. The interior of the restaurant is very clean. The seafood pad Thai and the tilapia trio entree are my favorite dishes to get there. The seafood is always perfectly cooked and not rubbery! Even with takeout, the quality is still great. For example, fried dishes like crab rangoons will come in a ventilated container. I think they are pricier than most casual thai restaurants but it is reflected in the quality. Since they are located in Wilmette Commons, there is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. read more

Solid Thai food and super nice service!! At the moment (as of 4/29/22) they're only doing carry out and delivery but the lady who took my order was very considerate. Their lunch deal is amazing also - I got the pad kee mao with chicken, a soda and a veggie roll. Super flavorful but not too salty. I was passing by and decided to give this little place a try. I ordered for pick up one pad Thai with chicken. They put together my order in about 15 minutes. When I got it home it was still hot. Had a lot of flavor with a sauce that really saturated the noodles. All in all it was good. read more

This is a very small Thai take our restaurant that has a small free parking lot but it was super full when I tried parking to pick up my food at around 4pm for a late lunch. I wanted to like this place a lot since I'm a huge fan and supporter of the smaller no chain places. Sometimes the best food comes from these places! My experience here didn't start off the best unfortunately. When I called, they didn't have the noodles for the normal Pad Kee Mao since they said their noodle machine was broken. This leads me to believe they make their own noodles? Instead I ordered the Inbox Kee Mao which is the same thing except for egg noodles instead of flat rice noodles. Fine...I can handle it. I also ordered a fried wonton appetizer cuz I was craving some fried goodness! When I went to pick up at the location around 4pm, parking lot was full. I kind of put my flashers on and just dashed into grab the food. It was ready for me and I left to eat it back at the office. When I opened the bag, there was no utensils of any kind :( Thank god I had some extras at the office otherwise I would've been looking ravenously at my food with on proper way to eat it. I always feel carry out orders should include utensils without you asking for them :( First ding on my experience here. Secondly, I opened up my box of fried wontons and thought I had ordered the wrong thing. These wontons were flat triangle shaped pieces of fried dough...they barely had any filling (please see my pictures). They were tasty...but there was a negligible amount of meat inside. As I started to eat my dough, I realized that there was a little bit of meat inside but it had somehow gotten flattened out during their cooking process so it wasn't a round ball of meat like a wonton should be. It was just poorly made and this place needs to figure out a proper way to make fried wontons. If you can't make something right, don't put it on your menu and serve it. The upside is that their homemade sweet and sour sauce was bomb and that made the deformed "fried wontons" a better experience. Lastly, I dug into my inbox kee mao. This dish was awesome and I would definitely get it again if I ever craved it. The portion size was decent for what I paid and it was tasty. I'm not sure I would say I'd come again because based on my experience, the food is inconsistent and I've lost trust in this place....perhaps when I'm feeling thai again and starving at work will I turn to this place. There is a window-facing counter and a few stools here if you want to eat in, but generally this is mostly for carry out or delivery. The place is pretty bright and kind of cutesy, it's actually very clean and if you don't mind eating at a counter I would do that. I ate in with a friend and ordered the Pad Siew and their egg rolls. The food came quickly and was really good. The egg rolls were delicious (but a little skimpy on the chicken, and not filled very well). The Pad Siew was also really good, good flavors, nice portions of chicken and some broccoli. I tried a little of my friend's Chicken Satay, and they were pretty generous with that, and the peanut sauce went perfectly with it. Overall, the portion sizes were pretty standard; I have yet to go to a Thai place that serves up really big portions. The prices were also pretty standard for a Thai restaurant (although a little cheaper than some sit-down restaurants) with most of the noodle and entrees ranging from $7 to $10. They had a container of mints and other candy and I grabbed a lychee candy on the way out. It was so good! But then again, lychee anything tastes good to me, so I may be a little biased. Sometimes ordering shitty take out has the silver lining though which is you won't overeat and feel like crap. You will feel like crap because of the msg headache and grease. My friend & I came to Thai Inbox Wilmette for lunch today. I ordered Crazy Noodles with shrimp and a side of jasmine rice. The service was speedy. Uplifting pop music played while we waited for food in a comfortable environment. Our food was tasty. I enjoyed how my dish had wide flat rice noodles. I feel as though the extra width of the noodle contained the light brown sauce in a flavorful way. With onions, vegetables and shrimp, this stir fried noodle dish satisfied.
