We came here right when they opened up. They were still getting everything ready, but were very welcoming and assisted us right away. Just like any Italian ice place, they have the popular flavors and they also have special flavors that they change around on a weekly or daily basis. I of course ordered my go to, strawberry and lemonade. The lemonade was sweet and sour, very addicting and the strawberry was used with real fruit. It was definitely refreshing. The Italian ice was delicious, and they have great service, they're just unfortunately on the pricey side compared to some other great establishments. Super cute little spot! All natural italian ice! Fruit, sugar, and water! The person working there was super sweet and let me try all the flavors. All of them were great but I got raspberry and mango! Such a great combo! Everyone else got mango coconut which is the most popular combo! Outside they had some lawn chairs which was really nice since there were a lot of us! It was cool their cups and spoons were biodegradable! Little Lulu's is amazing! They have CBD-infused frui-shees (fruit slushees) and they are incredible! I haven't seen these offered anywhere else in the city. A very welcomed addition to Portage Park! They have delicious all natural Italian ice in lots of flavors with a somewhat rotating menu. You can split the flavors, which my wife and girls love since the combos are seemingly endless! Being Italian, I was a purist most of my life and would only eat lemon Italian ice. Then a tasted the coconut at Little Lulu's, and it changed my life forever! I cannot get enough of it! Thank goodness you can buy their Italian ice by the pint to take home. Worth noting are their sandwiches and soups, which are super tasty! Delicious real fruit flavors that are not too common elsewhere like passion fruit, watermelon, coconut, kiwi and grapefruit. Fave is the passion fruit. Do the words, "best soup I ever tasted" mean anything? Because this is the best soup I ever tasted! I arrived ten minutes before closing when at most restaurants the food is getting stale and the staff is getting cranky. Not here. The lady was so nice as she rang me up, and when my wife and I tried the last cup of soup they had left, we were absolutely blown away by it. Tasted super-fresh. The flavor and seasoning was terrific. They shredded the chicken so that you got some in every bite. No disgusting oil or grease at the top. I mean, just perfect soup! That's the bottom line, it's just perfect soup. This must have been what the soup was like in that Seinfeld episode, only they're actually nice to you here. As for me, next time I get the flu, it won't be so bad because my wife will let me eat as much of this as I want! read more

I cannot recommend Little Lulu's enough. I was searching for a sweet treat option that wasn't cake for my son's birthday party and someone in my neighborhood had suggested Little Lulu's. I had never been to her shop, but that will change immediately. The italian ice was THE BEST and by far the hit of the party. While the kids had mini cups, the adults had adult slushees that were delicious. Literally people at the party kepts saying how amazing it is. I have tried lulu's before from one of their carts at a farmers market but for some reason I think the Italian ice tastes better at their actual location. One of the best parts is that they sell Italian ice year round so no more having to wait for the right season to get your Italian ice fix. The lemon flavor is traditional simple and very flavorful. They also have many other flavors like mango, coconut, chocolate etc. They even give the option to add CBD to your order. There is an upcharge for it but if that's your thing you can get it here. Being a vegetarian I was recruited to taste test the "Cute as a Cucumber" sammich at Little Lulu's Italian Ice shop in Portage Park. This sandwich was SO delicious with many different flavors and textures. What made it so interesting was the base was made of a mashed chickpea spread delicately seasoned. On top of that a thinly sliced cucumber salad made with fresh lime juice, garlic and perfectly balanced dill and other herbs. If that wasn't enough, it was topped with vegan cheese and spicy arugula then grilled to perfection. I had to take one home to my carnivore husband and he absolutely loved it!! I give it 5 stars because it was so good and I can't wait till I can sink my teeth into another one read more
