This is one of my favorite places in Chicago to get a sandwich they have a lot of options but my go to is the Italian with the hot pepper relish that has a nice kick to it. The bread is fresh with a nice crusty chewy crust and pillowy interior and super fresh veg and meat. The staff is always friendly when ordering at the counter and the place has a modern welcoming vibe that is bright and clean!

This establishment been on my list for a while. I decided to grab a sandwich for lunch during the week. This establishment is a liquor store, taproom & sandwich bar all in one. The taproom and sandwich bar are combined. The liquor store is separated. On this occasion, I ordered the West Sider which comes with 9" sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, haus dressing, garlic mayo, oil and vinegar, turkey, pastrami and Swiss (subbed for provolone). I added banana peppers but it was a costly waste. Overall my sandwich was good but pricey. Out the door $17 bucks for cold cuts is too pricey for me. I probably will have to just make my sandwiches at home but it was a nice treat on this day. My west side sandwich was good. The meat and cheese were fresh and the accompaniments were nicely prepared. I like how they shredded the lettuce and how finely the tomatoes were sliced. The bread was fine but wasn't anything special. Overall a nice business in the neighborhood, they had some seasonal coffees in their cafe menu that looked tempting. I would come back to this establishment.

Seamless experience at Humboldt Haus this morning! It was my first time here and the cashier was super helpful. I ended up creating my own turkey sub and it was delish. They made the sandwich super quickly even though it was busy. I'd recommend giving this place a try. Super reasonable pricing also!

My sad looking one slice of turkey and onion (even though I specifically ordered no onion) sandwich.

I ordered the turkey sandwich with no onion. I got onion and ONE slice of turkey. Come on! That's pitiful and sad. Won't be ordering again.

I first visited this spot a few years ago and tried The Westsider, was immediately impressed and so glad to see they are still up and running, thriving and have expanded their menu/offerings with plenty of seating/tables for a cozy coffee shop feel. Not to mention a full bar if you want to indulge in some libations. Plenty of free street parking. The service is speedy fast and sandwiches are delicious! Highly recommend.

Sandwiches are delicious. My wife and I ate the whole thing. The haus sauce was on point. I will say the campfire toast was delicious. Service was quick and easy. The inside was open and airy. They have a bar that you can sit at. I do wish they had larger menus.

Sure doesn't look like corned beef and pastrami to me

Solid food, but overpriced for what you get, they charge an extra 4.50 for an added meat to my Ruben and im not sure if they thought I didnt want the original meat but it was the thinnest Ruben ive ever had.. sure doesn't look like corned beef and pastrami either...

This sandwich shop never disappoints!! Hands down my go to sandwich fix for love or any sub craving! The beast and the haus Turkey sub is my fav, add the garlic Mayo, it's amazing. The servings are huge, they're not cheap on the meat. It's worth every Penny. The west sider and the Italian are also great! Pasta salad is pretty good but the subs are all stars! However skip the chips. This dirty brand potato chips are bad, the flavors all suck and a waste of money. Better off walking down to the corner store for a bag a chips.

We made a reservation at Over/Under. When we arrived, there weren't a lot of people yet and we got seated quickly at a table already set up with our name on it and lots of fun swag. By the time the game was starting, it was packed. TV's lined the walls all the way around so every table was a good table. No one blocked our view. We each received 5 drink tickets and 2 meal tickets. In addition to the fact that we wiped the floor with Kansas, we met some really nice fans from Chicago. They made our visit so much fun, filled with endless laughter and a great time. It was a nice mix of young and older folks like us and the young people were so respectful and friendly. It truly was a pleasant surprise. They gave us their bar stools with backs so that we would be comfortable. I don't know if Steven David, who we also met there works for the bar but he was funny as all get out. He says he's a comedian so if you're in Chicago, look for him at a comedy club. The owners were very friendly and we appreciated chatting with them too. We didn't get to our second meal or order half of our drinks bc we were having such a good time so we gave them away. The pretzels were good and nachos weren't bad. Edible. They also offered free opps for prizes and you could also buy tickets to win prizes. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. Nice neighborhood bar feel, surrounded by great humans, including the owners.

My brother and I tried a few menu items, but our favorites were definitely the wings with the Dragon sauce (sweet chili, sesame, soy and ginger) and the sautéed shrimp with potatoes. Be sure to try their cocktail called "Uncut Gem" and check out the Red Zone room! Enjoy!

I think there were some kind of corporate happy hour happening in the back, but a friend and myself just came in for quick drinks. I usually don't drink on the weekdays, so I ended up just getting an iced tea and him a tequila soda, but because I don't drink, we decided to get an appetizer and we browsed the menu for a minute and ended up splitting the Parmesan chicken egg rolls. Truthfully, I really just wanted to see what that would entail because it seemed a little disgusting or maybe even some kind of high-food, but to my surprise, it was actually a really crispy skinned pizza roll. I'm pretty sure it had been previously frozen, but in that moment- served with a side of marinara, I didn't really care. It was full of gooey melted mozzarella cheese and almost like a breaded chicken nugget center. Pretty decent as far as bar food goes. They also had crab rangoon to which I thought, "hmm are they doing a little too much?!" I'm sure drunk me would have gotten them years ago so what can ya do. Overall, quite a positive experience. The bartender was really sweet and everything wasn't super expensive. I've been in the neighborhood for such a long time, but I've actually never been here and I'm glad I came on a night that it wasn't chaotic.

It was within walking distance ... did I mention it was raining that night? And I was hangry? I was game for anything at that point. We arrived and waited probably four minutes for a table. A couple of the adults ordered a beer, the others ordered a Coke. We ordered a large pretzel and our mains. The pretzel was so good. All the meals were outstanding (a sliced brisket sandwich, some wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a burger). Service was great. It was a little loud when we first arrived as there was an intense Illinois State basketball game on but as soon as the game ended, it was much quieter. We really enjoyed our meal at Jake's!
