After spending the morning enjoying some water sports, my family and I (a party of 7) stopped by Little Nicki's for lunch--and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The service was truly top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. It's not easy accommodating a large group, but they handled it with warmth and ease. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious: Two fresh, crisp salads Perfectly fried calamari Flavor-packed arancini balls Comforting and indulgent buffalo chicken mac and cheese A grandma pie with vodka sauce (a must-try!) Decadent desserts: classic cannoli and cannoli cheesecake Refreshing drinks including a homemade lemonade (so good!), iced coffee, cappuccino, and a macchiato. The portions were extremely generous--we left with plenty of leftovers--and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. I wish I took more photos of the food before it was eaten. I only wish we lived closer so we could return more often. It's a great spot near the lake not right on the water. The portions are generous and even huge. The paninis and wraps are great, Cesar salad w grillled chicken was great, Mac and cheese was super greesy, vegan chicken was a nice alternative and tasted pretty good and the pizza was large enough to share. This place is absolutely incredible. First time here, our waitress Giselle was a rockstar. I've never seen a single server or small kitchen be able to handle an entire restaurant full of people like that. Very impressed. I just love posting an update when there has been noticeable improvement, and our experience at Little Nicki's last night was certain such an occasion. I've probably been going to this restaurant for seven or more years, my first review may indicate if it's still up. We loved it for all it's quaint charm and homestyle Italian fare. Over time, loudly bickering kitchen staff, food being served by 12 year olds who were just lost, and shrinking portions/rising prices through Covid pulled us away from our several visits per month. A good friend told me he had a fantastic visit there two weeks ago, so we ventured out last night. Pretty brave as it was Valentine's Day. We were immediately seated by Victoria, amazing given that we didn't have a reservation. She greeted us with a warm smile, opened our wine quickly, and took our order. She was able to provide a very accurate plate description to my wife when she questioned a dish...so she clearly had menu knowledge. Everything came out on time, hot, and we could clearly see the kitchen staff from our table and noted they were a well-oiled machine. No screaming or fighting such as in the Johnny days. and Victoria and the other brunette waitress were so coordinated in tending to the busy dining room. One delivered, one took plates away while walking by, nothing like the disorganized children who served us in the past. I love kids, but they were way over their heads most evenings. Victoria is amazing!! We are BACK!! Portions were back where they used to be and prices stabilized. Pet friendly outside!!! This establishment was good. All the food was fresh and very tasty. Started with great homemade meatballs and garlic bread and very delicious steamers. I had a cup of pasta fagioli with my entree. It was the best I've had in a long time. Entrees were so so good and large portions. Definitely could have shared since we had apps, soup and salad. Nice cozy family restaurant. The AC is well sufficient in the warmer weather days. As for the food, size is big portion and nice presentation. Well as for the taste, I find it little light on the salt department. Maybe that's good for my blood pressure. The service is a little slow, but it was on a Saturday and it's a family owned restaurant...so I just need to relax. To do that , this place is a BYOB place which is a definite plus. I walked in behind three younger men and they punched in and went to the bathroom to change into their white chef coats .
