Our first time here in the Garland District in Sookane to try some Pho.
    Faran S.

Was our first time at Little Noodle in Spokane, was a small building but had some awesome and fun art Work and they even had a little bar. We both ordered pho and my wife picked smoked pork belly for her protein and I picked smoked pork. The wait was a little longer then usual, but it was well worth the wait. The broth was super killer and meat could've been cut up smaller but that's OK. The cilantro added freshness and jalapeños added spice which I really enjoyed and we was given dipping sauce and didn't know what they were but they were delicious. If you want a nice little restaurant and wanting Pho head on over to Little Noodle in the Garland District in Spokane you won't regret it.

We decided to enjoy a couple of cocktails and apps before taking our dinner to go. So glad we did! We just love the vibe in Little Noodle and its bar Itty Bitty Buddha. Great cocktails and great service. I wish I would have gotten a better picture of the apps (totally forgot the soup dumplings - a fan favorite) all together. I did get a pretty good one of my delicious Tri-tip Pho. My husband on the other hand, devoured his Bahn Mi so fast I didn't get to snap a shot. Id say it's a "good problem" if you eat the food so fast that you forget to take a pic first. If you haven't already...you really should go check it out for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

    "Spring roll"

Shrimp spring rolls are full of noodles and some shrimp. A few pieces of pale Romain? And one basil leaf torn in half. Very disappointed. I'm used to fresh veggies and herbs.... Carrots, cucumber, mint, cilantro, etc.

    Tonkotsu ramen.

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it was anything but ramen. The noodles were hard and looked like yakisoba noodles, it came with cilantro instead of bok choy, and had pickled veggies. It tasked more like a pho dish than ramen because it had a sweet vinaigrette taste to it. I've had tonkotsu before, not here, and the broth is meant to be hearty, smooth, and rich in flavor. The garnish is the pork belly, soft boil egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, and mushrooms. This was not that dish. I'm sure their other food is probably good but if you want Japanese ramen you won't find it here.

Staff were nice and friendly, but it took while them to notice us when we (total of four people) came. And inside the restaurant was humid. The soup in our ramen bowls we ordered were not hot enough and way too salty. I don't think they should be lukewarm like French meals. The soup in ramen bowl suppose to be hot when it was served. Also, the noodle was so mussy and stuck together. The egg in the ramen was like eating salt. The smoked pork was fine. I noticed at least a menu was misspelled and means a totally different dish. I mentioned it to a staff, but she really did not care about it. The wall in the restaurant was painted so cute, though.

The traditional Old Fashioned done perfectly

Pho. Take out. Easy to assemble at home. Broth had great depth. Overall better flavor than other pho.

An inverted escape room where it's a a bit challenging to get in (given that the bar is mostly hidden behind a bookcase), but once you're in, you want to stay. The gentleman at the bar was friendly and very knowledgeable about the many spirits they offer. It's a great date night spot, or to just hang out and enjoy the ambiance.

You could easily (and maybe have...) walk past it and not even know. I found my way in and was faced with a dark room and a wonderfully lit display of liquors. They infuse many of their own and offer flights of infused whiskeys. The drink menu has options that feature many different spirits. I chose a gin and citrus drink that was a wonderful blend of bitter and refreshing. I made myself sip it slowly, but it was tasty enough that I could have thrown it back. The bar tender was friendly and attentive, as well as knowledgeable. The room seemed to be recovering from the recent Hoopfest...there were coolers and some things in the back of the space. There were also a LOT of bottles on the counter behind the bar. I don't know if it is always like this, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back for the drink and to show it off to friends.

I liked how even though the place was small, the mixologist wasn't in our face and he paid attention to what he was doing, taking care with our orders. They have a nicely stocked bar with more options across the board than I would expect. But the reason this gem shines is because of their creative and delicious drink menu. I highly recommend trying it, especially if you enjoy trying drinks you can't get anywhere else that are made with quality ingredients and perfectly mixed flavors. Even if you aren't an adventurous drinker, I think you'll find something that will appeal (although I'm sure they can make a delicious version of your favorite drink). I write this because I'm super basic about the cocktails I like and rarely venture out of my comfort zone, until something sounds good. I don't like brandy, never heard of peacorn (peach and corn) syrup, but the Peacorn Sour called to me, and it was soooo worth it. I also tasted S's cocktail, though I've forgotten the name, and it had bourbon, which I don't like on its own at all, and I thought it was good. Not drink an entire one on my own good, but if I liked bourbon, this would be fantastic! good. (S confirmed the quality.) We'll be going back, and I'll look forward to whatever new delights they have to offer.

Wouldn't you know it? I wrote a review over four years ago about their five star barbecue shrimp. It's the same still. It will make your tongue dance and cry. The shrimp and grits are amazing. But that was all that was great. It seems that everything is cooked on the highest temperature. We got hushpuppies and whipped honey cornbread for appetizers. The hushpuppies were dense and while they lack flavor - I did enjoy the sauce that came on the side. It was spicy and had a nice flavor. Although it was obvious they do fry the hush puppies and fish in the same oil. The honey corn bread was burned and tasted of burnt oil. It was oily and had a strange taste and was overwhelmingly sweet. (You'll find that burnt is a common theme.) My Cajun burger was good but the buns were burned. The meat was juicy and had a nice flavour. The fries were seasoned well and were crispy while being soft on the inside. The pork ribs were decent. The sauce was nice. They weren't fall of the bone tender, but still tender enough. The coleslaw on the side was very sour and spicy. It was more like spicy sauerkraut rather than coleslaw. The seafood boil was underwhelming small especially for the price. The shrimp were overcooked. The clams were very small. The muscles still had beards. The potatoes and corn were cooked nicely. It needed more salt and sauce. The sweet teas came unsweetened and while it did came with sugar on the side - the grains were too big to actually stir in. And I would like the mentioned that my cup of water had black specks floating around in it. All in all - I wouldn't return.
