I try not to rate a place low unless I have tried it more than once, and I really tried to give Nekojita a shot on 2 different occasions. Both times, I booked well in advance as I noticed the reservations were always weeks out. On both occasions (booked out 2 weeks in advance and 1 month, respectively), we were seated at the bar. You would think that with reservations, actual seating would have been offered...There is nowhere to specify that you want real seats and not bar seating. The first reservation was a catch-up dinner with my friend, so we were fine with the bar seating. She noted it was odd that a reservation was seated at the bar, but we were excited to try Nekojita out for the first time and brushed it off (left spending over $100 total). My second reservation was on Valentine's Day, and it was a mood-killer to be seated at the bar and have to look at all of the other couples getting real seating. I was honestly frustrated because, although I booked well in advanced this still happened. No accommodation could be made because the place was packed. Their reservation portal only asks for contact info, the date and time you'll be joining them, and if there are any allergy restrictions - nowhere to say "Hey, I want a real seat!". On to the food. Respectfully, it wasn't anything special. The reason I returned was that my boyfriend really wanted to check it out. On my first visit, I got the Dantanmen, and the chorizo was quite overpowering in the whole dish. I ended up scooping it out. The noodles were great, and I do commend them on that. My friend ordered the pork & "ube" gyoza. In my culture, Ube is a pretty important ingredient, so we were excited to try it, only for the Ube to be used as food coloring... At that point, it should have been called "purple pork gyoza" and then mentioned that the Ube was used for coloring. You couldn't even taste the Ube, so I'm unsure why they put it in the title when they used it like a garnish. I believe the execution really missed the mark. And on the second visit, my boyfriend and I shared the Osaka okonomiyaki which was really good! The bacon was very thick and the sauces we're delicious. I just don't think the temperature was hot enough to make the Katsuobushi "wave" but it was still our favorite from the night. We both ordered ramen. Again, the noodles were bomb. I enjoyed my ramen - the Golden Gai. I wasn't too thrilled that you had to order so many sides that would normally be included at other ramen spots. The broth and egg were good - though I like my soft-boiled eggs more jammy. My boyfriend ordered the Wagyu Whiskey Shoyu ramen, and he made the mistake of ordering the "hot oil" as a side. It was not spicy at all and was quite salty, which tainted the whole bowl of ramen similar to the chorizo. We were expecting it on the side, but instead, they dumped it all over the wagyu, which then compromised the flavor of the meat. He tried powering through it so as not to waste wagyu, but it was so salty. His ramen was also a bit cold...which was odd because we were seated across from the kitchen area, maybe it's because the wagyu is raw? Either way, not too good. We spent over $120 on this visit before tip. I wish there was a way to just order a standard bowl here without it costing $25. The drinks were good on both occasions. On the first visit, we tried the "Nekokita milk punch" & the nekoesspuresso (something like that) and both were delicious, the first drink was also savory? Which I liked and the second was their version of an espresso martini. The Milk punch, unlike the "gyoza" had another SEA flavor, but one you could actually taste - Pandan! And that was quite pleasant. We also ordered some of their sake, as it's one of my favorites, but at $14 for a tiny glass, I wouldn't order it again. On the second visit, my boyfriend ordered the Spokane Hai, and I got the Neko cha cha. Both drinks were done really well. The foam on the Neko cha cha was delicious. Stopping in for a drink might be the move... but a meal? I say no. All in all, I don't think we will be coming back for food, but I might for a drink. Spending over $100 when you're stuck sitting at a bar isn't worth it and you can't really walk in without a reservation, so if you want ramen, just hit up King of Ramen.

This is a fairly new Ramen house in Spokane that I highly recommend. The food is very tasty, flavorful and delicious. The service is just as excellent as the food. This place is not very big, so for its size it is very busy and I recommend you make reservations even if it's for just one. The ambiance is very chill with dim lighting but the atmosphere is live with tons of smiles, music and conversations amongst all in the restaurant. If you like ramen this is a must try and if you're lucky anime it might be playing on the wall off of a projector.

Had reservations and when we arrived was told we needed to wait since our table was not available. Waited 10 minutes until we were seated. The atmosphere was great and the place was busy! Kaarage was nice and seasoned well. I did not care for the remoulade sauce that was placed under the chicken pieces. Looked sloppy! Ordered the golden gai. The pork was sliced into cubes and was meaty. The egg was delicious! The ramen noodles to broth ratio was lacking. This is NOT your typical ramen broth. If you are into beef broth, then this is the dish for you. It simply lacked the umami I was looking for. The serving size was decent. Also, there are à la carte options you can add to your ramen at a $$. Server was nice and attentive. A definite plus! Overall, it was great to try a new place but likely won't return.

Nekojita Ramen - Recent visit #2. Another incredible meal and evening at Nekojita Ramen. What outstanding food, good times, and service. The crowd and staff were having fun! We enjoyed the vibe!

Went for dinner right when they opened at 5pm. They squeezed us in as we did not have a reservation. I would highly recommend a reservation if you would like to come here as the place is on the smaller side. The service was awesome and everyone was very friendly. I got the dantanmen ramen and it was okay. I wish the broth had more flavor and depth to it. The noodles were good, and had a nice bite to them like ramen noodles should have. We also got the sake b&b pickles and those were very good and I would order it again. We got their kah-rah-ah-geh chicken and that was very well cooked and the sauce they had with it was good. The ambiance is nice and it is a smaller restaurant that makes it feel more cozy.

Get the Waygu Ramen. So good.

The whole atmosphere is dark, cozy, moody, and feels more like a hidden lounge than a typical downtown bar. Between the lighting, music, books, and dramatic cocktail menus, the vibe alone makes the place worth visiting. We tried the espresso martini, Painkiller, and Bloody Verde. The espresso martini was smooth and easy to drink without being overly sweet, and the Painkiller had that creamy tropical flavor that somehow still worked with the darker speakeasy atmosphere. Keeping it honest though, the Bloody Verde just wasn't for me personally. I can still appreciate the creativity behind it, but the flavor combo just didn't match my taste buds. That being said, if you like savory spicy cocktails, you'd probably feel very differently about it. Service was friendly, drinks came out looking great, and the music really tied the whole experience together. Definitely feels like one of Spokane's more unique cocktail spots if you want something moodier and more relaxed.

The atmosphere was really enjoyable -- the space has a great vibe, the drinks were well made, and overall it feels like somewhere that could become a favorite spot downtown. The food was decent as well, though not especially memorable. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the positives. From the moment we walked in, we felt more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests. The host greeted us while remaining seated at the bar and simply told us to "sit anywhere," which immediately set an odd tone. When I asked for paper menus, I was told they only use QR codes. Normally that wouldn't be a huge issue, but the menu was around 15 pages long with tiny font, making it frustrating to navigate on a phone. Once our food arrived, we essentially never saw our server again. No check-ins, no refill offers, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks -- nothing. Meanwhile, staff members were gathered at the bar loudly talking among themselves and openly complaining about being there, which was uncomfortable to listen to as customers trying to enjoy a night out. Eventually, we had to walk up to the front bar ourselves just to pay our bill. That was the most disappointing part because the restaurant truly has the foundation to be excellent. The ambiance and drinks are already there, but hospitality matters just as much as the food. A little attentiveness and genuine customer service would have completely changed the experience. We absolutely would have ordered more drinks and likely stayed longer if anyone had checked on us. Hopefully management takes service more seriously, because this place could be great with the right staff culture and attention to guests.

Upon my encounter with one of the bartenders, I was told that they only had one burger. It was a double burger and it came with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a delicious pickle. It came with some fries and a dipping sauce that always was a good adjunct to the burger. But this restaurant is very pricey for inconsistent food. We've been twice now- didn't love it enough the first time but wanted to give it a second chance. The lemon pasta was divine the first time- but my carbonara was unflavored paste- I literally thought I had COVID and lost the ability to taste food but everyone else's food tasted good so that theory didn't hold up. This time I ordered the lemon pasta and instead of creamy, delightful and tasty it was a little bland and watery. The waitress "fixed it " by offering me more Parmesan to thicken it. I'd added prawns- they were nice. My companion ordered the veal parm- the tomato sauce wasn't amazing and the breading was a bit heavy. He wasn't impressed and didn't finish the dish. The risotto was just OK. Again, it's very pricey for just OK. The food isn't trash but if you've had great food you don't want to pay so much for just ok. We would rather spend the money at Luna or Francaise or Wooden City. Dessert was yummy. The first time we went we arrived first seating and it looked like the AARP theater crowd, the last night we went seemed like a galantine's preview! So if you're there for the drinks, appetizers and ambiance it's quite nice. I can't endorse it whole heartedly because the entree's weren't consistently good enough to give the full 5 stars. Service was fine and we tipped accordingly. Good luck!
