Beautiful cafe on a beautiful street! The restaurants and businesses on this street are amazing. I came by after a long weekend upstate looking for a nice lunch and I'm so happy I found little pecks. I tried a cold brew, breakfast granola with jam, a hearty toast with butter and more jam, and a breakfast wrap. Wow. The cafe fare is delicious. Plenty of outdoor seating. I'd love to try more breakfast and lunch, and actually anything else i can get. read more

A tremendous light breakfast nook, the menu is limited but the food is incredibly fresh and delicious. The espresso drinks are created with expertise. However, I ordered a regular coffee that was bitter (they assured me it was freshly brewed, so the bean were roasted incorrectly), a deficiency I was unable to tame with sugar and cream. The breakfast burrito was delicious. The sign says Coffee Shop. It's hidden between Peck's Arcade/DiDonna's Italian Bistro, a small grocery store, Clemente Picture Framing, Lucas Confectionary; and all part of Clark House Hospitality. read more

They's some good brewers! Absolutely love the decor of this two story coffee house/full bar/loungatorium/eatery/swillery. Got a 3 dollar cortado that was served quickly, warmly, and packed a real nice espresso punch. It also had a little cute art on it! Besides the fact that they obviously have their coffee schwerve happenin' in a big time sorta way, the two story reconstituted decor is absolutely killer. Seriously. Killer. Such a relaxed vibe with some truly unique rooms (check out the upstairs full bar and the downstairs skylit atrium with water feature for examples) give this place a completely and totally habitable feel. Come for the coffee drinks/treats/eats and stay for the vibe. Such a great vibe. Loved the see through walk-in cooler and kitchen prep areas! Strong and free WiFi (just like 'merica!) and rooms all over the place upstairs and down, that offer either privacy or companionship, depending upon which you seek. Totally heading back to this place. If I were an RPI student, this would be one of my go-to jams as a total respite from the dorm/college grind. Amazing food and drink and ambiance, as usual for Little Pecks. However what was unusual is the terrible service I just experienced ordering. Came into Little Pecks Saturday morning looking to grab a coffee and some food. Upon ordering I was greeted by a barista to take our order. Quite honestly I have not been spoken to that rudely in so long, and I was not the only one. Customer after customer she had the same snobby attitude and remarks. Almost makes me regret my 20% tip and hesitant to come back again.....to the barista in the headband...be nicer!! read more

Can't believe I haven't written a review about little pecks yet! First of all, what really makes little pecks shine is the atmosphere. Their garden is truly magical, especially during the summer when it opens up to the outside. Healthy plants everywhere and tasteful design abound. The food is delicious, too. They make a lot of things in house. You're getting smaller portions for a more expensive price than you would otherwise in Troy, but you know that you're getting great quality. Definitely try an egg and cheese on a gluten free roll! They have been using the street as an extended outdoor seating area for awhile in the summer, too, and it's always nice and refreshing to hang out in the breeze with a glass of wine. Well. Troy is quite blessed to have this slice of heaven. So far the best vanilla latte in downtown, especially since it's made from a pink espresso machine and house made syrup. The egg biscuit is small and simple but far from ordinary. Pickles and fry sauce with a perfectly folded blanket of egg and cheese. It's good but it's going down hill. I called to ask about a menu item and they said "we're trying to do away with customers making modifications to meals" yes I get that, cost savings. Perfect venue to while away some time enjoying the ambience of a casual homey cafe. The decor itself is entertaining with unique uses for wares. Servers were extremely gracious and kind. I would definitely return. The lack of 5 stars is the food . 3 of us ordered chicken salad wraps. The amount of lettuce on the wrap far exceeded the chicken salad portion which was no more than 2 tablespoons. The wrap was rubbery and cold. A very disappointing sandwich for the price. It came with chips and a stick of homemade pickled vegetables (carrot or celery) which wa very tasty. I can only think that we came in towards the end of the day when the chicken salad mix had little remaining so the cook decided to spread it out for 3 rather than let us pick another option. If you're anyone that lives or goes to school near Troy, you've probably been to little pecks any crazy number of times! I've been in the Capital Region for about 8 years now for schooling, and have done too many hangouts and study sessions here to count. Location: Downtown Troy is a fun, beautiful place to have a lovely eatery like this. Little Pecks is the cafe segment of this three part business (next door, pecks arcade, is a dinner only restaurant, and on the other side of little pecks is the confectionary, which is a bar). This is in a safe part of Troy nestled between many other restaurants, and a short eye-distance walk from the river which is nice to walk along. It's quite busy in the summer and spring when the outdoor Farmer's market is happening on Saturdays. There is free unlimited weekend parking on the streets, but they added meters to many of the previously free-to-park-on streets which means now you'll have to pay during the week or park just a little farther away (there is still free street parking I can snag on a weekday, but it's only 2 hours). Food: I think the food here is just OK, it's really the ambience and location and it's being a nice place to that I come here for. I think there coffee is just OK, not the best in the area. Breakfast platters are often bland to me (the egg/veggie plate, burrito) aren't really wow-ing. I have enjoyed the egg biscuit on occasion. There menu does change throughout the year. There muffins with butter (if you ask for it, on the side) are delicious! The kale salad will fill you with that healthy glow but again, isn't AMAZING. Ambience: Little pecks has expanded it's indoor area and now there is a beautiful place just right of their main entrance that is a better lit place to study. Just past the entrance, is a dark sort of nook with many tables to study on (and near outlets). The outdoor back patio is a favorite for people to hangout or to study. There are some outlets in the back that they've added too, some in the walls and some near the planters/waterfall area, that you may need to scope out beforehand if you know you're going to need to be charging while you're there! In the winter, the back patio is closed to keep it nice and cozy inside, which they've done a better job of in more recent years. In the summer time, the door is open and it's lovely and breezy! Upstairs, there is a plethora of seating for studying or socializing. Overall a nice place to study or hang. Ambience is the main catch, food is just decent! read more

If I only lived closer, I'd be here almost everyday. The menu is attractive and while little pecks is an all day coffee shop/cafe, some items are only available certain days of the week and time. That means you need to come back and enjoy what your heart desires and cross your fingers that they don't run out before you get there. There is window seating and bar stools in the front and table seating in the back. There's also seating upstairs at the library as well as the covered patio. I love little pecks vibes especially because it is cozy and offers so much. There's coffee, tea, wine, beer, desserts, pizza, open-faced sandwiches, and other snacks. I loved the pecan pie (every bite of it, especially the crust) and the malt cold brew. What a lovely place to enjoy some time with a friend or get some work done for school! little pecks will be seeing me again very soon. read more

Little Pecks couldn't have been more perfectly decorated. This is one of the cutest places I've been inside in a long time. It's very inviting and friendly and makes you feel like you want to stay for a long time. Why not 5 stars? The menu was a bit limited. They only had a few options to choose from for breakfast. The bonus? I'm from Portland, Maine and they were serving coffee from Portland. Hundreds of miles away. Local shops helping out other locally-run businesses. Now that makes my heart happy. The girl behind the counter was very kind. She altered our order to make it better for us. The food was fresh. You can see the chef cooking through the windows. The salmon toast was FABULOUS! The outside patio? Hello. New favorite place! It was so charming. The roof was open on this beautiful day and I could listen to the waterfall from the pipe all day! Good coffee. Great atmosphere. Modern and architectural salvage decor. Such a relaxing atmosphere for you to chill, relax, get some work done, or simply hang out with folks whose company you enjoy. My macchiato, sadly failed in its attempt at surface art, but was good nonetheless. The garden sitting area in the back is a glass enclosed courtyard with a groovy water feature. Very nice to feel the sun there and digest the caffeine. I didn't order any food this time around, but the food I saw delivered around me looked fresh and delicious. little pecks seems to be in an almost constant state of reinvention. Here's the good news... lunch is back! And the egg sandwich on a biscuit is now available during the week, not just on the weekends! Huzzah! I finally had my first one. And while some people might squint their eyes at the notion of "fry sauce and a pickle" on an egg and cheese sandwich, it's actually delicious. If breakfast for dinner can be a thing, so can breakfast a lunch. Sure, it's a relatively small sandwich, but that means you will have room for dessert, for which I have three magic words for you: chocolate. chipotle. cookie. Wow. This isn't just some chocolate cookie with a hint of chipotle in there. This cookie is smokey with a slow, building smolder. I prefer the crisp outer edges. But for those who like a softer cookie, the middle should satisfy. What I particularly love is that both the cookie and the egg sandwich go great with coffee. It's fun to get a pour over and get to select from one of the Tandem bean varieties that are on hand. Or you could go with the no muss, no fuss ready-made batch brew. The pro tip is that you can bring your food to a variety of places within the Clark House Hospitality structure. No need to stay in the cafe seats in the back. Enjoy the covered and heated patio to get some natural light. Or ask the barista if the library upstairs is open, and have a quiet--usually private--space all to yourself. Just as a "long term" update, little pecks continues to satisfy on a daily basis. Still getting my caffeine fix NUMBER REDACTED times a day, enjoying thoroughly pleasant staff and tasty espresso based drinks. Today, I stopped in for lunch, as I am wont to do occasionally. I got a BLT, which was delicious. I got one a few weeks ago, but was lazy and didn't yelp about it. Sorry. It was ALSO DELICIOUS. The only flaw in the To-Go BLT, is that the tomatoes used are juicy and delicious. It had a negative impact on the structural integrity of the bottom bread, which was wonderfully light and crisp on top. They were very thick and flavorful tomato slices though. I came here for a pizza dinner and for coffee in the morning. During COVID, they have a cute little set up outside with multiple tables and they had a live jazz band playing. The food description is a little misleading. I was anticipating a sandwich shop but what I found left me very surprised. The mussels were absolutely delicious. Mussels and corn in a tomato based garlic broth that left you wanting "more bread to dip please". We ordered a simple house salad that was far from simple. Great job. No need to wash this plate. The $1 coffee refills have me hooked for my light Sunday computer work and the Sunday NYT paper. I enjoyed the atmosphere, came during a week Day morning and it was calm and chill. Something I appreciate while still waking up. I got the breakfast biscuit sandwich with bacon. While delicious I found to be a tad pricy for what it was $7 and change. If adding bacon is $2 I expect more than 2 half pieces placed on it, making it a single slice of bacon. The biscuit was great, the zucchini pickle perfect and the sauce was a much needed and tasty addition... but $5 for a little egg and cheese biscuit I was bummed, and upcharge for bacon. I am not so impressed with both the food and the service. It takes more than 30 minutes to get my take-out ready, which are just two breakfast sandwiches! The waitress did apologize for the delay. But the real problem is with the cook. Clearly, the cook did not have any interest in cooking at all. The scrambled egg is squashy and the overcooked toast is separated from the scrambled egg (they call it "scrambled egg over toast", which I assume they don't know what is "over"). The bacon I order is missing, as well. So clearly, someone made the food with no respect to both the food and customers. Disappointed! read more

The biscuits with habanero jam- fluffy, buttery and divine. Don't let habanero scare you. It isn't overpowering and it comes with butter as well. The jam is sweet and a bit savory. There is flaky sea salt on top of your butter. The attention to details makes little pecks fantastic. The decor: the inviting wallpaper, vintage plates and adorable trays to the seemingly simple and/or sorta remixed nostalgia like food and drinks options- malted cold brew, pasta frittata or biscotti granola. Tandem coffee is carefully brewed. You can opt for drip coffee or get a pourover cup at 3.50, which is a sweet deal. The thing I love most about Little Pecks is this: here you have this sweet, adorable place, with a sweet, adorable name--effortlessly serving refined, dead-sexy food before noon. It was "Almost-Mexican" brunch day when we visited, so I ordered what I considered to be the weirdest item on the menu: chickpeas in a mole sauce with fried egg. It was served in a styrofoam bowl on a cafeteria tray. No frills, no bells and whistles. And yet, it was rich, flavorful, satisfying, and interesting. I loved it. I also enjoyed my iced mocha coffee, and returned to grab a malted cold brew to go after taking a sip of my husband's. The Little Pecks atmosphere is also adorable, from the pineapple and floral wallpaper, to the retro espresso machine, to the kissing birds on the to-go coffee cups. My very first taste of downtown Troy after my relocation to the Capital District. I was wowed. Attentive, talented baristas and the cooooolest decor! I ordered a new and different latte and the hashbrown breakfast bowl. Super casual atmosphere perfect for lingering to visit with friends. Prices are up there so not the kind of place I can patronize on the regular but highly reccommend this establishment despite that as its also a destination for dinner and drinks during the evening hours. read more
