I had some time tonight to run errands and grab takeout so decided to try this place through Uber eats. I thought the pricing was a little high but if I feel distant we are in the area a lot so I'm always looking for new places. I ordered a turkey wrap and the eggplant fries. The turkey is definitely fresh carved and the highlight of my food adventure here. I asked for no mayo and the cranberry sauce was a nice complement to it. Unfortunately ordered it with tater tots and they were just really greasy. I also ordered the eggplant as I had planned to bring it back for my husband, unfortunately it did not come with the sauces at a referenced in the menu and it's all soft and mushy. Definitely not crispy as pictured and with no sauce it's literally just mushy eggplant. I'm not driving back there so for the price it was not worth it and we are tossing it. The order was ready on time but if it's not ready correctly then it's irrelevant. Great food Great service I was there Thursday night July 18th, 2024 they were busy but ran polished as a good restaurant should. Rachel, My server never let my glass get empty. The food came out hot and fast. The sticky nuggets were amazing and the staff even the manager Tommy took the time to check on our table while you could tell how busy he was, when the check he came to make sure everything was as great as it was. I was impressed with the food and drinks; The atmosphere was really cool with old wood and English telephone booths. Have you ever driven down Route 1 in Old Saybrook and seen a Tudor building that belongs in the UK country side, red roof, white stucco walls , with a few chimneys and ornate windows? I've never really thought twice about the place before but I have since learned it houses Little Pub which may now be one of my favorite shoreline establishments away from the sound. I went here for a birthday lunch not really know what to expect other than the reviews looked good and I already found many things on menu that I would consider ordering. We arrived and were immediately sat at a table for two. It took a bit for our waiter to come to us but it wasn't a horribly long wait. We were able to pace ourselves with the meal as our soups were out before we placed the main meal. There was a good runner which seemed to expedite the service. Oh did I mention there are other Little Pubs in the state? Because you certainly wouldn't believe it based on my first experience. Also. we went the weekend after Thanksgiving and Little Pub was festively decorated for Christmas & the winter months. Something about this extra attention to detail always makes me happy. When I am not dining on tacos & tequila, I'm scouting out French onion soup in the fall. Little Pub had it on the menu so I made sure to order it. It was tasty but not quite a revival with my all time favorite. I did love the onion ring stings that topped the soup. I opted for the Buttermilk Chicken Crunch Wrap. I loved the balance of flavors in this wrap (butter milk fried chicken, avocado, pick, bbq sauce, ranch dressing and cheddar Jack cheese; the menu states the wrap has tater tots but I don't think mine had any). The wrap is then lightly grilled to seal the everything together. I'd order it agin but there are so many great looking choices on the menu! The cocktail menu was fun and I had a hard time selecting what to drink. I went with the Cosmo special. I love how it came in a chilled stainless martini "glass" which kept the drink nice and cold! I'm getting hungry as I write this and wish I could be at Little Pub for dinner tonight. I'd probably be trying out the Birds N Bees Chicken Sandwich. read more

Stopped by yesterday for a late lunch. Unfortunately, we just missed the band. We ordered the nachos to start. They were ok but at least better than our main meals. We both ordered burgers, one with tater tots (clearly frozen) and one with fries (they were luke warm and def tasted as if they were reheated) His beer was room temp so not very good. He worked with us when organizing this at a difficult time after losing a family member and helped us choose popular menu items and made other good suggestions to make this both affordable and nice! On a recent trip to visit the CT shore (from Northampton MA) , my 3 girlfriends and I were looking for a moderately priced , cozy, casual, and delicious place to eat dinner and grab a drink and we found it all at Little Pub in Old Saybrook. The hospitality and service were excellent. Tony ( not sure if he's the owner or manager) was so kind and friendly and made sure we got a table on a very busy night for the restaurant. Are there no decent dining options around Old Saybrook because I can't understand why anyone would come here. The building is cool, I appreciate the wooden columns and open area. The service is fine too, didnt even need to wait during dinner rush on a Saturday... which should tell you plenty. My party was immediately seated, and our drink orders were promptly taken. The wait for our drinks was not long at all. We ordered a few apps and our entrees. The pretzel was fine and the question dip was fine at best. Nothing exciting but not bad. The entrees though, holy hell they were bad. I ordered the dragon roll wrap. I'm a huge seared tuna fan and this sounded like a cool wrap including fried rice and ginger. Others at my table ordered mac n cheese and chicken tenders. This is where things went south. As I put the dragon wrap to my mouth, I smelt that fishy bad fish smell. As I took a bite, my suspicions were confirmed. It was the fishiest, most awful tuna ever have I eaten. Disgusting. The Mac n cheese tasted like pasta with lumpy flavorless sauce on it. Gross. The chicken tenders woody with soggy bland fries. The waitress asked if I didn't like my wrap which I appreciated and I told her I was fine. I wanted to leave and didn't want to be offered a dessert or something else gross off the menu. On the up side, the things not prepared in house were fine, like the tater tots and pretzel. This is a new and trendy place to go to in the Old Saybrook area. This area is full of great restaurants and to succeed here you need to be good. First of all this is a chain restaurant located in other parts of the state, so they have a lot of backing to make it successful. The best thing about this this restaurant is the wide variety of food choices, plus the the reasonable prices. It is conveniently located on the Boston Post Road. This restaurant is crowed on the weekends, so it might be wise to visit it on a less popular time. I went at 6pm on a Tuesday and there was a 30 minute wait. They are organized on getting you seated. They text you when your table is ready. They also show you how many people are a head of you. They also have a kids menu, so it not just a pub, but a family restaurant. I going to attach their menu and provide a review on the food. Started with the Crispy Eggplant Fries. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious I had the Chicken Cheesesteak sandwich. It had sliced chicken breast, sautéed broccoli rabe (it was a little hot) , Roasted red peppers, melted provolone and caramelized onions. It was a good combination of flavors. The Steak Fries ( New York Strip) was a delicious ,tender and cooked to perfection . The Cilantro-Lime Chicken Salad was also good. Oh wow! This was such a fun place to eat AND the food was perfect. Literally no complaints. The waiter was quick, friendly, and to the point. Everyone in the room was served promptly and they all checked in with each table regularly. A+ all around. The bathrooms were clean and very nice. Having kids with us it makes it easier when the bathrooms are clean. We had our 1 year old and 7 year olds with us. The menu was very good with a lot to choose from and reasonably priced! We had a few things: Ahi tuna tacos. Perfect! I've never had them before but these were so so good and fresh! I had the fish and chips and while I can't complain about anything in particular it was very Average. Not much taste and fries were very soggy. OVERALL: This place is a SOLIDLY GOOD restaurant. I have been here at least 6+ times & I love everything about it. The interior is spacious but warm, cozy & inviting. ALL THE STAFF are ENGAGED, helpful, pleasant & EFFICIENT. I have sat at the Bar numerous times & sat at a table in the Tavern area. There's great music that's audible but doesn't drown out conversation at the table. The Bar area is ample sized: probably can seat 15 people & has 3 flat screen tvs with always several different programs on including current sports games. The menu has an awesome varied selection of food. Appetizers, Salads, Burgers, & a fantastic array of Entrees. I haven't been able to get past the Grilled Blackened Salmon with Napa Slaw Flatbread sandwich because ITS THAT GOOD. It's a Staff favorite & it's EXCELLENT every single time. I had the Large soft baked pretzel that was outstanding (although not a huge cheese sauce fan but oh well. The mustard was DELISH!) I had the potstickers too and they were solidly good. I've been to little pub many times with my family and we are never disappointed. The Ahi tuna tacos is a big hit with all of us! The nachos and the tailgate pretzel are amazing appetizers. This time I got the salmon salad without the glaze on the salmon. It was so fresh! The hamburger salad is also one of my go to favorites. there is plenty of seating and a really cool ambience. I'm surprised at the extreme negative reviews of little pub. I have been coming for years and have always had a pleasant experience. The food is fresh and prepared well. The cocktails, especially the "little pub libations" were excellent. The Picklewings are killer and the ranch homemade and perfectly paired.
