Before we took our first look at the menu we we were really taken by the charming rustic, candlelit space. The menu, however, was bland and really limited. Let me start by asking why an "appetizer" of pickles was for $6? As some one pretty familiar with Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine, pickles are usually served with certain dishes free of charge. Needless to mention the fact that they didn't even serve olive oil with the bread that only came with an appetizer order. This place is unreasonably overpriced and completely misses the point of middle Eastern/ Turkish cuisine. For one entré and one appetizer we paid roughly $50 (including 15% tip for average service and tax) for the entré we got a few cuts of meat and literally one supposedly grilled tomato cut in half (barely touched the grill) and a hot pepper with a small scoop of burgul on the side sold to us as "lamb brochette" I would recommend either trying something authentic or if you're after that kind of charming decor be prepared for tiny food samples and definitely avoid ordering their meat (bland and chewy). I was so excited to try this place, here's my breakdown. I went when there were only several tables occupied. Pros: Beautiful ambiance, Little Rascal has small touches that really create a romantic space. Cons: The service. As soon as I got my drink, the table wobbled and soaked my hand. Then as we got our food a roach crawled up the wall next to us. The bartender/ waiter saw it all and just looked away. Mixed: The food was mixed. The chicken we ordered was tender and nicely plated, the zucchini pancakes was completely soaked through with oil. The drink I ordered tasted... flat if that makes sense? Verdict: I'm so sad. Found this restaurant on Resy and was really glad I came. This restaurant feels like it's family run (and I mean that in a good way) although I'm not sure if that's actually true. The inside looked great but since the weather was nice we chose to sit outside in the front porch. The seating area was covered and had a number of fans as well as flowers and other plants. To start we had the chef platter which was a great mix of Turkish foods. I had the lamb skewer which was great and my girlfriend had the meatballs. The portions were huge but felt healthy. Yes!!! Food was awesome, we did the tasting menu and did the veggies and meat platters. It was exactly the perfect amount for 4 hungry souls! He seemed to be the only person working the entire restaurant. Food: -- The wild salmon was bland and small. The accompanying salad was just okay, although the rice was tasty. I just there was more. Of everything. I was hungry after finishing my plate and I weigh less than 100 pounds if that tells you anything. -- My daughter loved the lamb kabob and polished it off. Rude and combative staff, horrible experience. Do not go to this restaurant. They offer a $30 pre-fixe (no alcohol) with items that are not offered with their entrees or as appetizers. Some of these items are meat and dairy free, an option their entree menu did not have. There were 5 guests at my table and 2 of us wanted the pre-fixe and the rest were ordering entrees. The waiter told us that everyone needed to order the pre-fixe, which made some sense but nothing that couldn't be resolved. We were all ordering entrees so the restaurant wasn't losing money and we told them we were fine with timing. Then when we said to separate the bill or do what they had to do, the waiter said he'd sit us on either side of the restaurant, which was just impolite, very rude and unnecessary. He also aggressively ripped the menus from our hands. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I don't make scenes at restaurants but this man was awful. read more

Could be easily missed if walking past to get to the LES. Little Rascal was a tiny restaurant which had $1 off beer and wine for their happy hour. Along with our glasses of Pinot, we ordered the baba ganoush, which came with only four slices of bread. Between the three of us, we had to split the last piece of bread into three. It was really good babaganoush though, definitely recommended. The owner also gave us each tiny warm towelettes that were scented floraly! That was a really sweet touch of hospitality. Because we werent expecting to eat here, but just to grab a drink and a small bite, we didnt get to try any of their menu items. We'll be sure to come back next time for dinner. Middle Eastern food? Never had! Happy Hour? You know I'm in! A nice and dark romantic setting with very nice waiters. I had a fly that probably flew in my glass of wine mid way of eating and the waiter was nice enough to help me change it. Decided to give this gem a try after getting off from work. I wasn't hungry so I chose the Octopus Salad. With the right amount of lemon and herbs-flavor, this was really good! It filled me up quickly. Service is a bit slow, but food and ambiance are great. Definitely my go to Mediterranean spot! Started with Sancerre wine, great and my absolute fave for the summer. Hummus and Cacik starters are amazing, taste like it's straight from the Middle East. They were out of the octopus salad, which made us very disappointed, but decided on the artichoke as a replacement. It was good, especially the tomato cucumber salad, that's finely minced, that comes with it. For my entree I got the lamb kebabs, which is always my go to when I'm there. There's no one that cooks it as well as at Little Rascal. I didn't want the rice, so they substituted mine for a small green salad which was perfect. We stumbled on this bar while we were waiting for a table at a restaurant around the corner and I have to say, I fell in love! The place is so quaint and cute and the atmosphere is very welcoming - the bar tender and waitress (or hostess or all of the above??) were married and this made for a very intimate vibe. Even though it was rather empty, there were a few people at the bar and people trickled in slowly. My SO and I spent about an hour here sipping on sangria and snacking on hummus while people watching. It was such a nice place to kill an hour. The food that the people around us got all looked delicious and I would definitely like to go back one day to eat more than just hummus. The food is outstanding Mediterranean Turkish food. I recently brought some friends from Istanbul who said it's the best Turkish food in NYC, and were surprised by how chic Little Rascal is relative to other Turkish restaurants in the city.
