Pricing is very reasonable and well within the expected range. After the haircut, my son even wanted to stay a few extra minutes to enjoy himself, which says a lot about how comfortable he felt. I took my 7-year-old daughter to Little Scissors in Dublin for a haircut, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. My daughter's hair was well below her shoulders with layers. I clearly asked for a chin-length haircut with face-framing pieces and longer bangs. Instead, the stylist immediately tied her hair into a ponytail and cut off a large section in one go without checking in with me before making such a dramatic cut. I was surprised but assumed she had a technique and knew what she was doing. After that, she simply evened out the ends into what was essentially a blunt cut and cut a tiny section in the front, saying those were the bangs. The finished haircut looked nothing like what I had requested. It lacked the shape, layering, and face framing we had discussed, and it didn't even look like a neatly finished haircut. When I told the stylist I wasn't happy with the result, she responded, "Oh, you wanted more layers." I was hesitant to let her cut more because my daughter's hair was already much shorter than expected. When I asked how she planned to fix it, she simply replied, "That's my job. I do things differently." That response did not give me confidence. Another concern was how rushed the appointment felt. By the time she started my daughter's haircut, the next clients had already arrived. It felt like there wasn't enough time taken to understand what I wanted or to carefully finish the haircut. Cutting a child's long hair is a big change, and I expected more communication and attention to detail. The most disappointing part isn't the nearly $50 price tag for a child's haircut--it's that my 7-year-old now has to live with a hairstyle she doesn't like for the next several months while it grows out. I understand that every stylist has their own techniques, but listening to the client, confirming expectations before making a major cut, and taking the time to deliver a polished result are all part of good service. Such a charming little spot--definitely a step up from the crowded and chaotic Sharkey's locations. I'm so glad they opened up right in our neighborhood! With kids, you know instantly if a place works or not. Mine lit up the moment we walked in--he was happy, relaxed, and actually excited to sit for a haircut. I didn't have to worry about him or hover over the stylists. The team is fantastic too--many of them came from Sharkey's, so you still get experienced hands, just in a much better setting. They've thoughtfully added toys and play areas for younger kids, which makes the whole experience so much smoother. We wanted our kiddo's first haircut to be special, and scoured Yelp for localish East Bay and Bay Area spots that we thought had the perfect vibe for our little guy's first cut. Things we were looking for: the right aesthetic. Little Scissors checked off all the boxes for us. They specialize in kiddo haircuts (especially first haircuts) and also you can book a 'Mom and Dad Haircut' as well. One non-negotiable for the first haircut was a super cool 'chair' to sit in, and Little Scissors had the option of cool cars and a plane 'chair' to sit in for the first do'. Some awesome things to note for other newbies like us ~ after booking the appointment and on the 'Info for Parents' tab via the website, check out the '1st Haircut' link. There is some information to help everyone prepare with fun links like 'Daniel Tiger getting the 1st Haircut' to play before. They also mention what to expect during the first haircut, the parent's role during the first haircut, and extra tips for a smooth experience..essentially this page was golden to us and a nice touch/gentle reminders going into this experience. Upon entry, there are games/play equipment. We checked in with Sascha, and she was extremely calm, friendly, and most importantly, gave us an amazing first experience. Major kudos! After getting adjusted in the 'plane' seat, she adjusted the TV (there is a screen by each car chair), and asked what we would like to play during the session. We chose Mrs. Rachel which was another level of ease :) There were a few pieces of additional entertainment to keep the kiddo occupied during the haircut, while also kept safe. It was honestly such a seamless process and over fairly quickly within a half hour or less. We were extremely satisfied with the first cut. Adorable! We chose to keep a little curl for the grandparents and they gave us a 'first haircut certificate' + balloon. They also have sweet treats (Dip n Dots) for sale. My only note is that this location is in a large shopping center and a bit hard to find. They don't have an exterior sign, and are sandwiched in-between a few fast casual restaurants. We are repeat customers here. We've been coming here since they first opened in Dublin and we initially loved our experience, but since then, they're just ok. They're always anywhere between 5-45 mins late. Their policy is that if you're late by 5 mins, your appointment gets canceled. But if they're running late, you just lose out on your time. Today, they were 35 mins behind. Thankfully their stylist Juanita is so good at her job. I just think that their management could do a better job. Overall, an ok place. (Including when I have tried cutting his hair) lolll but little scissors has thought of it all. I made an appointment online for my son's haircut. As soon as we walked in he was excited to be there because he saw so many toys to play with and fun vehicle themed chairs to sit in. Our stylist was Caitlyn and she gave my son the option to choose which vehicle to sit in and he chose the airplane. She confirmed with him what he wanted to watch on the TV. I showed her a picture of the haircut we wanted. She was super patient with him, taking the time to show him how gentle the clippers were. I chose this place for my son's first haircut. I was extremely glad that they were able to book an appointment in the morning for the same day. I was anxious since it's my son's first haircut - I wanted to the place to be just right and experience too. Going by the tone in the voice of the person booking it, I was feeling better about the choice. So here are things which went very wrong and I would caution other parents too- 1. My son is just little over a year, unexpectedly - we were delayed as I accidentally left some of the things I needed for him at home and had to come back to get it. In total I was 15 mins delayed. When it was just a little over 5 mins- I got a call from the man taking the appointment (who I think may be the owner) telling me that it is unacceptable, and the only grace period they allow is for 5 mins. I told him I understand (gracefully, I admit it is my bad). After that he continued to again suggest to not repeat it ever and his tone was extremely off - now was that required? This began to taint my experience. 2. I go in and apologise to a hair stylist for being a little behind- the hair stylist, looks confused and blank says - I'm not your stylist it's this other person. Regardless- I go to my assigned stylist, who seemed nice. 3. This was my son's first haircut. I was told I would get a certificate and when I asked about a photo On the call, they said we don't do photos yet, but certificates they do. I was ok with that. Once the cut was done- I was told they were out of certificates and that I need to come back to get the certificate! Really?! How well organised are they. 4. I booked a family haircut- I was told I could get a cut with my son and my husband can go after- seemed like a good deal. Soon when my son's haircut started I asked for mine and was told the same hairdresser would do it for all in a sequence. So in order to ensure we are good on time, we requested to skip my husband's as this isn't what was promised over the call. After the services were completed, I get another Rude text saying "you were a no show for your appointment" if you do this again we will limit your bookings. Communication is key, it would be great if they can set the right expectations and communicate that from the outset. This was extremely unprofessional in my opinion. I only cancelled because it wasn't what was promised on the call. 5. While I was paying for the service, it seemed the owner called the Stylist (I could tell it is about the cancellation) and she had to sharply tell him that she's with a customer and will need to talk later. I could tell there was an uncomfortable exchange going. What went well (for the stars I gave)- the stylist was nice, the haircut went well and my son got a balloon. I don't recommend this place for anyone considering a first haircut for their child. Not worth it. EDIT- removed 1 star. I never received a call for the certificate. So assuming it's because of the review. Anyhow, you've been warned! read more

I was searching for a place to take my son for a good haircut and I found one...Little Scissors - Dublin. It was easy to make an appointment, clean, friendly staff, and my son said "it doesn't hurt". His turned out GREAT and they will work with children who have special needs...BONUS!!!!!! My son saw Stella; she was patient, easy to talk to, and did a great job on my son's hair. I will bring him back and bring my daughter. There's a small play area for kids with sensory toys, a small slide and books about haircuts. There are even special vehicles for kids to sit it, regular chairs, TV's and gaming consoles...think Sharkey's but smaller and calmer...another BONUS! I got lucky and booked a same day appointment at 10am as I've been holding off on getting my sons first haircut and decided on a spur of the moment. My sons stylist was very kind as we discussed my sons haircut as we were wanting a fade but came to an understanding children don't always cooperate and may not receive the results we hope for so agreed with her recommendation. Thankfully my son was mostly chill but doesn't always last. she noticed he was getting annoyed so she moved us to sit In the regular chair on my lap and was able to keep going. We were fortunate to achieve the taper fade to an extent. Since this was my son's first cut she saved the first snipped pieces and my son received his certificate along with a balloon. Over all I was so comfortable with the experience and how the stylist was super patient with my son. Watching the other stylist interact with the other children was also super reassuring seeing how patient and kind they were to the little clients. Went here for the first time with my family for my daughter who is 4. She chose to sit in the helicopter chair which immediately set her at ease. The stylist was kind and patient and very good with kids. They didn't mind letting my two year old son sit in the empty car chairs to play. They have a good amount of interesting toys and a toddler swing and slide that my son had lots of fun playing on. He was having a grand ole time while he waited for sister to finish up. My daughter got a lollipop at the end but there was also an ice cream freezer that I didn't let my kids indulge in. Booked with Stella based on reviews we read. Took my 7 year old son with long hair there for a trim. I told her 3 inches and she even pinched his hair to confirm length and it was correct. She ends up chopping off about 7 inches and now my son looks like Ellen Degeneres. How does a simple long hair trim on a boy end up with the back of his hair shorter than the rest? The worst thing about it is why not ask along the way before chopping?? She asked afterward about the front after already demolishing the back. My son hates his hair and can't stop talking about how much it bothers him. I wouldn't recommend her for anyone with long hair. The place is nice though.
