On February 3 I brought a group of five other people to this restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had all intentions of having the hibachi grill because I completely love the experience! We were there 45 minutes before the restaurant opened waiting patiently for the opening time. After 11 AM came and went this restaurant still did not open but I noticed people walking inside so I chose to follow with my party. They were still cleaning and preparing the restaurant for opening at 11:08. The hostess came in around 1110 and started answering phone calls for people making to go orders. There was a gentleman waiting there for almost as long as I was who just wanted to place a to go order when the manager rudely said do not take his order a seat the guest first the party that walked in before the restaurant was open got seated at the hibachi Grill and then we were told it would be a 45 to 50 minute wait before we were allowed to sit at the hibachi Grill and we're rudely asked what we would like to do. Unfortunately we had no other options but to sit at the table without the hibachi service. The gentleman who wanted to make his to go order was told that he would have to wait 45 minutes for his food and he said aren't I one of the first people placing my orders how can it be that long then he was told that they had to let the oil heat up to cook the food. I'm so confused shouldn't a restaurant be ready to go before they're opening time?? The food was OK the service was basic we had to ask for a drink refills. I wish i could leave 5 stars, the food is fantastic, but the service and management is TERRIBLE!!! We have came here for lunch on a few occasions over the years(come to PF once a year) but tonight we came for dinner... was told a 10-15mins wait... try 35! THEN took 45 mins for our cook to come out!!! Not to mention everyone at our table was pissed because they were there for 35 mins before we were. It's ashamed because the food is soooo good!! Outstanding! My girlfriend and I were visiting and we needed hibachi STAT! Thankfully we found Little Tokyo right beside our hotel and it rocked our socks off. I got the filet and shrimp combo and she had the scallops. And lemme tell ya -- YUM YUM!! Everything cooked perfectly, the portion was huge, and the lunch special price shocked me -- less than $30!!!!!! Definitely coming back here next trip to Tennessee. read more

I looked forward to coming back here this year since the experience I had was great last year. HOWEVER, this year...we waited 10 minutes before the waiter even showed up.He filled (one at a time) refills for the table behind us...and then finally brought our drinks. The ginger dressing was weak and watery. The soup barely had any flavor. The chef...he did a little knife tossing and tossed the egg in his hat... That is it. The filet was fatty. And EVERYTHING was drowned in salty salty teriyaki sauce. Salty to the point where my tongue feels absolutely gross - 30 minutes after I ate! The only good part was that compared to my hometown hibachis... It was really cheap! I had mixed feelings before even walking into the resturant. Weve visited the other site in Knoxville and it was amazing. This place was not even in the runnings. I can say for certain that our host was great, very attententive and made sure we wanted for nothing but the restaurant itself (at least where we were seated) looked worn out and neglected. The table was heavily stained, and upholstery dirty. The dishes the food was served on were cracked/chipped. The food itself I had to force myself to finish because they used way to much teriyaki. I went here with a party of 8 during the lunch rush and our wait for a regular table was about 20 minutes. We had originally wanted a hibachi table, but the wait was around 45 minutes even if we were to spilt up our party. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop lunch combination, which comes with miso soup, salad, grilled vegetables, and fried rice for around $14. I think this is a very reasonable lunch price for this quality food in a tourist location such as this. The soup was great and this was by far the best fried rice I have ever had. Little Tokyo has excellent service and the food is worth the wait/price. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the Pigeon Forge area and I will most certainly be visiting it again! read more

This was the first place we stopped on our honeymoon as we enjoy sushi on a weekly basis normally. What a huge and terrifying mistake! The waiter was terribly rude and condescending, NEVER bothering to refill (or even ask about) our drinks. The "hibachi fried rice" was as bland and monochromatic as anything I've ever seen. Full of grease and little else. We ordered 3 separate rolls ( tempura shrimp roll, spider roll, and a deep fried soft shell crab roll ) of which we ate a total of about 4 pieces. My wife instantly knew something was up upon the first bite. I, however, optimistically kept trying to eat past the obvious disaster that was unfolding in my mouth. Eventually we asked for the check and left to confront our inevitable sickness from the safety of our cabin. I can't elaborate enough on how bad this sushi was. I'll take a prepackaged roll from Kroger any day of the week over this this. I cannot confirm that real meat was even used anywhere in this dish. What was there was terribly "gamey" for lack of a better word. The other "meat" was made up entirely of crabstick. The rest of the vegetables tasted as though they'd sat out on a cold line all day exposed to the elements. The avocado was especially guilty of this appearing brown and sloppy from the first bite onwards. On top of everything else, when our dismay at our meal was made apparent to the waiter, I observed him and the other staff laughing and joking about our misfortune. Pointing and laughing at our dissatisfaction. The only way this place could get good reviews on sushi is by getting them from people who have never had it ANYWHERE else. Sushi is an art form and this restaurant makes it into a laughing stock. Rule of thumb: If you enter a Japanese restaurant and EVERY soy sauce dispenser is empty on every table, you should at least consider coming back later if not abandoning all hope immediately. 0 for service 0 for flavor 0 for atmosphere 4/5 for plating though... we were totally deceived until we actually tasted it. I suppose that's what we get for thinking that a place like Gatlinburg would have good sushi. If you go I recommend sticking to the abundance of pancakes and soul food instead of being adventurous about it. read more

Very good fried sushi! We had the OMG and Spicy tuna. Both were tasty. The miso soup was average. The ginger dressing on the salad was the worst I've ever had. The Hibachi (we just ate in a booth, not at grill) were huge portions. We could have shared 2 plates amongst my husband and 2 sons and me. And still had some left!!!. The steak was a little better than the chicken, but both were good. The fried rice was very good, and my youngest loved that it didn't have tons of those icky veggies in it! Service could have been quicker. Took 20 min to get our soups and salads. But they were friendly, so that made up for it. We will be fighting for the Leftovers for dinner. This place has delicious food, which is the reason I always come here. However, the service at this restaurant is continuously the worst service I've ever experienced at any restaurant. It's not bad service once or twice but literally every time I come here. The waiters/waitresses are rude and the wait for the food always takes forever. I was a little apprehensive about trying a sushi restaurant in a place like Pigeon Forge. But Little Tokyo was one of our best finds while staying here. It's a locally owned sushi bar & hibachi grill. It's very clean and the sushi was surprisingly fresh. They have some very unique rolls, my favorite being one with shrimp and almonds served with an eel sauce (sorry i don't remember what it's called). The best bet for (non-pesco) Vegetarians is the hibachi part of the menu. Do Beware that the soup that comes with your meal is a very oniony chicken broth based soup. However they did bring us a bowl of miso upon request. The service was very friendly and attentive. This is the place that the locals go. read more

Everything was fantastic! We sat at a regular table because we didn't want to wait for the grill but food was fresh and hot! I had steak and chicken which was cooked perfectly and some of the most tender steak I've ever had at a restaurant especially a Japanese place. As I sat waiting for the sushi bar to clear an employee (who turned out to be the manager named Frit or so she told me) sat down at the sushi bar and had a 20 minute conversation with her friends while multiple sat and waited for the space to clear. After the space cleared I sat and order a hibachi dinner. After waiting 45 minutes the waiter came up to me and said I can't get the cooks to make your food. The same manager Frit then came up to me and lied saying my food was almost ready just after the waiter told me it hasn't been started yet. I refused the food at the point. The manager was more then happy to push me out the door with no apology. If I could leave no stars I would. Utilize their specials such as lunch specials or early birds specials! Same amount of portions served at the hibachi grill, just caught the early bird (mon-fri, 3pm-5pm) dinner special. Wasn't busy and great service! Chef did great with my 2 young boys (5 and 2) and interacted with them. Foods delicious and this meal was our cheapest meal while on vacation and we expected this to be our most expensive and we ordered Sushi but did not order soft drinks or alcohol, just water for everyone and Japanese noodles for my youngsters as they also shared our meals and still had plenty of leftovers. I'm being completely honest.. Service: 2/5, the gentleman who came around for us to put our drink order in was a little arrogant. Next, when asked about napkins he brought them out but then acted as if the restaurant was on a budget and handed them out carefully. Did I mention that getting a refill came after I had finished the course of my meal? Sushi: 3/5, if you're looking for a unique well prepared sushi this is not the place. The sushi is very generic. Hibachi: 2/5, generic, generic, GENERIC. The rice was actually very good, however the steak was just 'ok' not anything to marvel at. The shrimp were unfortunately over cooked :/, and they were fishy. (Granted you're in pigeon forge) Overall I'm not impressed and the rating was very misleading. I've been on vacation from New Orleans to Florida , and now here for the last week.. And have wanted nothing more then quality hibachi and sushi.. I didn't find it here. There was no seasoning, the sauce wasn't great. 1/5 is my final rating. If you're craving good sushi, this is not the place. The place was nice, service was good but would not go there again. -For starters we ordered ginger salad which was prob the worst ginger salad I've ever had. The ginger dressing tasted gritty, the lettuce was pale, and it was swimming in lemon which was so acidic I couldn't even finish it. -The sushi wasn't what I expected either. I had a double dragon roll and a French kiss. He had spicy tuna (forgot what else he had) -My dragon roll I think had egg? I'm not sure but it had this weird gritty taste to it that just overpowered everything else. I ended up picking it out just so I wouldn't have to taste it. The French kiss roll just had too much going on, it was like having a buffet of seafood stuffed in your mouth and you can't really taste what you're eating. Props to the spicy mayo that I had to put on these rolls to make them taste better. -My boyfriend had spicy tuna, which had kiwi on top and it would have been delicious had it not been for some coconut sauce they put on top. Why ruin the roll? The other roll he had was just plain, and he ordered another roll with tempura chicken, but they cut a giant piece of salmon on top that overpowered the roll as well. I don't think they know how to balance their rolls and their cuts were all just too big. On the upside we had miso soup which was probably the highlight of this place. Always have problems here. It is always filthy. Wait staff are terribly rude except one young lady. Soup is salt water with a couple slices of mushroom and scallions.
