The newest iteration of Clara Li & Ken Cheung's restaurant after so many years at Great Wall on Pine Street in the outskirts of Northampton will delight aficionados of the true cuisine of southern China where they come from with a few dishes from Hong Kong for good measure. Essentially a take away though there are a few tables that can be booked. South China Pork is yummy, as are a variety of seafood dishes. Dishes can all be made with tofu for vegetarians. I especially like steamed tilapia with black bean sauce. Can also be had deep fried. Pork with Green Beans delights. New addition is hand pulled noodles, in broth with shrimp. Little Wall is strictly a take away place. Expectations for a full service dine in restaurant are not the reality of Little Wall! read more

We went to Little Wall on a recommendation. It is a small restaurant with minimal seating area and mostly are equipped for takeout. As strict vegetarians, it is difficult to find tasty authentic Asian food. On each visit, Staff was very helpful in helping me choose from items that did not include meat, fish or eggs. The food was very fresh and well prepared. The fresh pulled noodles were a treat and the Tofu Snakeskin Roll was amazing. I just wish it was closer to us! read more

Came in for lunch with a 3.5 year old child. 1st, I observed the woman taking orders disregarding a customer waiting for take-out as she simply asked for a fork--multiple times -- "get it yourself--they are right over there" ( in a very non de script, non intuitive bin on a window sill of sorts). THEN it was our turn to order. The place has a total of 3 places to sit. A window counter top. A tiny table for two. A round table for 6. I order some noodles and soup for the child. The strange angry employee--says "Where will you sit." I point to the round table--she tells us we can't sit there, it's reserved. She asks me where I'll sit again, quite angrily. I look at her and tell her she will be able to find us. The table for two was taken. That left us with only the counter to sit at. This is a small place, given it's a one room small small place. It was weird she asks us where we''ll be sitting. We sit at the counter. The angry worker begs us to sit at the table for 2. The table for two had a woman sitting there already. The woman was still seated. The woman who was at that table whispers to us "good luck". I'm wondering why? I must have missed her dose of abuse that she got prior to us arriving. I tell the worker we're sitting at the counter because the seat height for the child is closer to the table/counter. They do not have a high chair or booster. She says she will not be liable (for what?) Our food comes out. She again asks me to change seats. I again tell her we're fine and happy. She delivers soup to the lad. I ask her for a cup for the soup. she refuses. I request again, saying he would like to sip his broth. She says she has no cups. I point to the table for 6 (with 4 people seated) and say we can use a tea cup. She gives us a plastic sauce dish for take out mustard. I scratch my head. She comes out again. I walk up to her again saying I need a cup. She gives us a plastic disposable cup (yes the kind that melt under heat). the kind you'd put water in at a water cooler (and only cool water) Food was meh. Amherst has tastier authentic Chinese. Downtown Noho has a decent authentic place too. If you're from NY City or Boston area, you'll find nothing special about the food. Eat here with kids only if you like being abused by staff. It would have been comedic had we not been hungry. read more

Excellent. Most of my go-to dishes like the stuffed tofu from the original Great Wall are at the Little Wall. A new and delicious addition are the authentic hand pulled noodles. They're made fresh onsite by a guy who obviously knows what he's doing. I get them pan stir fried with beef but I believe chicken pork and tofu are available as well. You can order the noodles in a soup too. The Little Wall is mostly take out. I'm glad there's still really good Chinese food still around town. read more

I am so happy that Little Wall has opened! What a gem of a restaurant for downtown Florence! I have always been a fan Great Wall and I was absolutely floored by the food and menu of this new venture of theirs. My husband and I really enjoyed the chicken curry and the crispy fried salt and pepper chicken wings. There are a few tables in this restaurant if you want to dine-in, and takeout is quick and easy. Don't miss it -- but take the extra step to order in person. When it was Great Wall, the best dishes were on the "special" menu; now they're the daily specials, which are only found on the chalkboard. It's worth it, because the food's still great - and they still have the best chao fan/chow fun noodles within hundreds of miles. It's so hard to find Chinese takeout that doesn't serve everything in brown salty goop, let alone one that uses local seasonal produce to come up with inventive specials like chicken or tofu with sweet corn -- so don't miss this little gem. read more

Delicious little gem in the center of Florence. The staff is so friendly. The chicken pad Thai and wonton soup are my faves.

The pad thai with shrimp was really good. The owner is working so hard, that I think some folks are turned off by her behavior, but I think it's just that she's constantly working. So, I recommend this little spot in the middle of Florence! read more

Fans of the Great Wall Restaurant in Florence will appreciate the new Little Wall Restaurant which includes many classics from the gourmet menu as well as some new ones (e.g., Pad Thai, Curry Chicken, and Noodle Soups). I am very sorry to be writing this review. We've been Great Wall customers for years. Little Wall is little, all right: The free container of rice has shrunk to dollhouse proportions. No more fortune cookies. No more delivery. With the exception of the crab rangoon, which is still the same, the dishes seemed lifeless. I ordered the new chicken skewers, assuming they'd be grilled. Instead, three deep-fried chicken nuggets on a stick. Thai wings were sort of anonymous, more sweet than savory. They are at a new location, and maybe they'll get themselves together, but right now it's just depressing. read more
