I've gotten a take-home bento a few times so far and honestly everything they make is delicious. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall and so it's easy to miss but it's worth stopping by. The takeout boxes are small so they mostly fill it with meat and side dishes and less rice.

Found this cute Taiwanese restaurant at walnut. They have many bento choices with very reasonable price at $8.00 per bento including tax. It comes with a soup togo. I placed my order by phone on Monday special black bean fish filet, with a lot of side veggies (rice noodles, egg, fresh steam broccoli). One thing that I like about my bento is that it's not too oily or salty. This small restaurant is getting better by ordering items by phone in advance. You can find their daily special bento menu on the Facebook. I heard their porkchop bento also is delicious and I will definitely come back to try it.

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. Do not waste your time or money here…read more The moment we walked into Fu's Restaurant, it felt like stepping into a sauna. It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. The place was practically empty, which honestly should have been our first red flag. We decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. My colleague and I were offered water or hot tea. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. There are plenty of better places within the same plaza than to dine here. I don't expect this place to last long anyway.

The price point felt very fair, especially with the dumplings coming in at $14.85. Ambiance was casual and clean, jazz music with nice wall art. The food was good, the scallion pancakes were perfect for splitting between us. I also really appreciated the balanced portion control; it felt like just the right amount of food without being overwhelming. We were only ones in the restaurant near end of business on a Sunday night. Service speed was expected as cook to order. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for a simple and reasonable meal in Walnut or near Mt. San Antonio College. FYI photos are of the wall art, food was devoured.

The owner was incredibly kind, made small talk with us, and even gave us a free sample of their boba milk tea, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was absolutely amazing. It honestly reminded me of the food I had in China because everything tasted so authentic and flavorful. Every dish we ordered was fresh, delicious, and cooked perfectly. You can really tell they put a lot of care into the food. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. They even have a great promotion going on right now where you get one free order of xiao long bao per table, which is an awesome bonus! The customer service was just as impressive as the food. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. Overall, this was an easy 10/10 experience. This time I tried the clear broth beef noodle soup. The broth was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but it was still rich in flavor. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, and the sliced beef was tender and paired perfectly with the broth. We also ordered the mix stir-fried rice cakes, and they were cooked just right--soft, chewy, and packed with flavor. The mix cones with beef, chicken, and pork. Definitely another dish I'd order again. But the real star of the meal is still the Xiao Long Bao (buy one, get one free). These soup dumplings are absolutely incredible! Each one is filled with rich, flavorful broth, so take your first bite carefully unless you want to wear the soup. I even included a video in my review to show the best way to enjoy them. After 30 mins, they brought out a new one, we can still see and smell the burn, but this time is not as bad so we decided to take it, BUT it's visible lack of meat (2 pieces of really small and all fat preserved meat with some sausages). So we asked them to give us more. They brought out some more, yet, it looks like burned charcoal. All black and hard. It even makes a clear sound when it hits the plate. It's so hard and tough and unadvertised (Photo attached). We couldn't believe what we saw and made a complain to the waitress, who is really nice and apologized. Not her issue. It was the kitchen. The quality of their food is inconsistent, but most importantly it's the way of unwilling of fix it. They remade the food without care, and it "felt" like they purposely reduce the meat and then gave us more meat that was burned like charcoal. (It 100% felt like they did that on purpose.) Just need to watch out if you decide to go. Really disappointed.
