Carly cut my hair a couple of months ago and OMG my hair has never grown out so beautifully. I haven't been back in a little bit purely because the haircut came out and has grown out so good I haven't felt the need to trim just yet (don't worry I will be back in the next couple weeks) I have naturally curly/wavy medium thick hair. Finding a stylist who can accurately cut curly hair with my bangs has been next to impossible until I found Carly. Call me crazy but I drive 45min from Providence RI, and it is 1000% worth it!!!! They are very fairly priced and the environment felt super supportive amongst the hair stylists. I even got a deep cleansing treatment and it was so lovely! 100000/10, if you have naturally curly hair and need someone who can properly cut the curls to give the bounce, volume, and longevity of a hair cut you deserve. Um.. This is my first time dying hair from black to blonde. I was expecting platinum blonde balayage. Below is the result done by Julia 5 days ago, from 2nd sitting. Total spent money around $1000 (specialist + tips). During initial consultation I was told it's around 2 sittings. After first sitting I was forced to give a fixed amount of tips. The 2nd sitting they no longer requested me to do so. After 2nd sitting I was told I had so much hair and it's really hard to dye to blonde from black. If I want the color lighter and more black hair to be dyed to blonde I can come again. Hm.. I think $1000 is too much to get a result like this. It feels like Julia doesn't have experience dying black hair to blonde (otherwise she should have told me her comments from day 1 evaluation so I know what I am getting from the money I paid). I am so happy I found Liv Salon and my new color and stylist, Nicole! Where do I start? I needed an appointment for highlights and a cut fast. Originally was looking at a Tuesday, based on their bookings. They managed to get me in Saturday which was perfect. I was booked with Nicole. She took great care to ask all the right questions regarding what I wanted, heard me and delivered a beautiful cut and color! I could not be happier, she is a pro! Her attention to my wants and needs surpassed the top salons in the SF Bay Area in CA, which is where I moved from in May. Moving forward, my hair professional is Nicole. The salon is peaceful, tranquil, charming, clean, safe (masks people) with all the modern amenities. All other staff were cheerful and welcoming. I love my new salon Liv! I really didn't want to have to leave this review, but I don't want anyone else to make the mistake I just made. I went in last month for a keratin treatment before a super important trip. I've gotten this treatment numerous times before from other stylists, so I knew what to expect and what the signs of a good treatment look like. Unfortunately, I was let down right off the bat. To start, my scalp wasn't washed correctly, the woman who washed my hair just poured soap on my head and rubbed it around a little. I got into the styling chair with my head still itchy!! My haircut went fine, but when it came time to the actual treatment I knew immediately that it wasn't being applied correctly. The keratin barely touched my roots (which I know it's supposed to do) and the amount applied to my head wasnt nearly sufficient to properly treat my hair. Not only that, but I know the keratin they used wasn't strong enough either, since I have curly hair. When it came time to flat iron the treatment in, my roots were once again almost completely avoided, and they needed two stylists to straighten my hair, claiming my hair was "super thick". Now this might not sound like a problem, but a) my hair is not thick. it's on the thinner side actually, b) my hair is only up to my shoulders, and c) it has never in my life taken more than one person to do this treatment for me. When all that was said and done, it took 4 hours (it usually takes me 2 1/2 max), and I ended up dropping 300 dollars. And I would've forgiven all of this, every last grievance and mistake, had the results lasted even two weeks. Unfortunately, my hair was a puffy mess in 4 hours. Not as a result of any mistake on my part- I've gotten this treatment before and I know to avoid water and putting it up for a full 72 hours- it was just a little humid. That's all it took. To reiterate, I've gotten this treatment done before, in MUCH worse weather, and my hair still stayed pin straight for an entire month. I had to get the treatment redone at another salon. Never in my life have I spent that much money on my hair, and never have I cried so much coming out of a salon. I took a chance with this place, and I wanted to like it, I really did. But they clearly lack experience treating hair like mine. Ladies, if you're looking to get a keratin treatment here and your hair is anything curlier than a very loose wave, learn from my mistakes and spend your money elsewhere. read more

Wanted to like this place but they made it impossible. The person they have working the reception desk couldn't be less inviting. They hardly acknowledge you when you walk in. I called to see if I could move my appointment and she immediately said "no we are booked". It was clear she didn't even check. When I cancelled the appointment she didn't even ask me if I wanted to reschedule. I had been going there over a year but I guess it doesn't matter. They don't seemed concerned with retaining clients. It's not like they offer something you can't get elsewhere. Have switched to another salon. read more

i went to this salon for a year or so and Jessica was great and had no problems. I missed my appointment because my wife was hospitalized and at my follow up appointment they asked for a security deposit! I felt embarrassed. This is no way how to treat your clients.
