Very sad time in our lives, had to put one of our best friends down recently. Found out the vet we'd been using previously had gone in to retirement and was looking for someone new. Checked Yelp for reviews and was torn between two. So happy with choosing Live Oak and Dr. Luce. Went in bawling our eyes out and left with a peaceful heart, thanks to everyone in the office! If I have to go I would not mind in the least bit to go just like my Suede dawg... Thank you EVERYONE at Live Oak Vet xoxox

I became a patient at Sierra Vet back in 2018ish. The vet showed me the surgical records and the blood work taken when I brought him in and where the medication interactions were, they did all they could but my little dude didn't make it. When I got new pets I brought them to Sierra Vet for their needs. My husky was their next patient and when she had sudden eye issues they got her in right away and provided the best care, she ended up with an enucliation of the right eye. For the past 5 years they have done preventative care on her remaining eye as well as referring her to a specialist. She has beat most odds and kept her eye much longer than most with her condition. Unfortunately she presented eye problems Monday and they got her in asap. They treat her well and even though vets stress her out. She does well with the staff when we have to do a drop off appointment. We take all our pets there now. I fully reccomend them for any of your Vet needs.

I scheduled an appointment for her eye surgery, only as I was very clear on the phone when I made the appointment.I picked her up from surgery and he had her spade at five months. Shocked. He said his assistant read his notes that that we talked about having her spade down the road. His assistant scheduled spay and cherry eye for the surgery. First of all, you don't spay a 5 months old puppy, especially french bulldogs. As any vet should know, there spine is not fully developed until they're first heat. And because of the early spay I'm expecting problems down the road. I can only assume this was done on purpose as he despises the breed and doesn't want anyone to breed french bulldogs. Please do not go to this vet. It's very expensive and rude. After I aired my bad experience, I was told to find another vet, and I'm no longer welcome there. Isn't that funny how you have a problem, instead of the fixing the problem and manning up to it,they kick you to the curb. I've had some very amazing experiences with the majority of the staff here. Every time i've come…read morethey've been understanding and very communicative. Everyone to help were female and extremely compassionate and competent. The vet techs were friendly and knowledgeable and my cats have always been treated very well. They treated our Titi so well when he held to be held over the weekend, and allowed us calls and checkups to see how he was doing. They were all so sweet and let us know how much they loved him. I recently had to put a stray I had been caring for down and they were so kind and patient and even recognized my mom as Titis owner. It felt like they really cared. They explained everything and got him cleaned up so that he could have a dignified farewell. We got his clay paws and they gave us two cards for both my boyfriend and I (we didn't know they'd do this and it was such a thoughtful thing to do) with an ink print of his little snout on it along with some signatures. My only negative experiences have been with the purple haired girl there. She is usually sitting at the desk. The way she speaks to pet parents there is appalling. I've watched her flat out ignore customers if they are not standing exactly where she wants them in line, cut people off, and just be extremely rude as well as not relaying necessary information until prompted. I understand needing to be firm and calm in stressful situations, but the other workers there can do it without belittling and making just nasty and unnecessary comments. She was being so unpleasant to the people in the waiting room regardless of what they were there for. I couldn't believe her lack of decency and talent for escalating calm and respectful situations to anger and irritation.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my mother's dog received at this clinic…read more We brought her in because she was actively vomiting, suffering from diarrhea, and unable to keep down food or water. Despite being fully aware of her condition, the clinic sent her home with oral medications that she was unable to keep down. No IV fluids were provided, and her condition worsened significantly the following day, forcing us to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, we later learned that the dosage of medication she was sent home with appeared inappropriate for her small size. As pet owners, we trusted that the medications and dosages being prescribed were safe and appropriate. Learning that there were concerns about the dosage only added to our worry and frustration. What is most frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. We were under the impression that certain treatments had been provided, only to later discover discrepancies in what was actually administered. We have also been told after the fact that hospitalization was recommended, but that was never clearly communicated to my mother during the visit. Had she been properly informed that her dog's condition was serious enough to require hospitalization, she would have taken immediate action. When we sought a second opinion, we were advised that injectable anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and supportive care should have been considered given the symptoms our dog was experiencing. Instead, she was sent home with oral medication despite being unable to keep anything down. We attempted to resolve our concerns directly and professionally with the clinic before sharing our experience publicly. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging our concerns, our request for a refund was denied. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. We expected compassionate care, clear communication, and appropriate treatment. Instead, we were left with a much sicker dog, significant emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses to address issues that we believe should have been handled appropriately from the beginning. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask detailed questions, request copies of all treatment records, and carefully review the care plan and medications being recommended for their pet.
