After purchasing a large amount of furniture at Living Spaces - Gilbert over the last couple of months, I recently made another small purchase of a desk. The store is roughly 15 miles from my home, so I selected pickup given the small item, and due to the extortionate $100 delivery charge. After picking up the desk, and inspecting the box for damage prior to leaving, I arrived him to find a large crack running across the top. Upon calling LS, I was told I would need to drive all the way back there to exchange the item in a couple of days, unless I wanted to pay a $100 dollar charge and then they would deliver a new one. I find it ridiculous that a company would make a customer do all the leg work to exchange an item that was internally defective, and have the temerity to try and charge me 33% of the purchase price just to have them exchange it themselves. I have purchased furniture from many stores over the years, and any damage to an item has always fixed promptly by the store, and an apology is given as well. Evidently at Living Spaces, if they sell you a broken item they do not particularly care to fix it. There are other furniture stores very close by to this one, do yourself a favor and go to them instead. read more

We were excited to see what this company had to offer and loved the selection even more however have been very disappointed with the product and policies. We ordered the couch in May and was never contacted that it was in. When we finally received the couch the chaise had issues with stitching and could see inside the stuffing in several areas. Also the throw pillows were under stuffed and flat. Mind you this is a custom piece of furniture which can only be returned within 7 days of ordering per company policy. To their credit they replaced the chaise and pillows however in just a few months the back pillow for the chaise has lost it's form and is completely slumped and misshapen. Instead of replacing it they said they said they have to order an insert for a technician to come out and install which they said takes 6-8 weeks!?! So crazy! We placed a warranty claim in September and STILL have not had any resolution. I called last week to check (January)and after being transferred to several people was able to get from a rep that the order was never actually placed! Though after being transferred to yet another representative who denied the previous reps statement that it was placed but said that she ticket was closed in addition there was a delay in manufacturing since it was a custom order! Total B.S. I requested a return and was declined of course because it's after 7 days of the order. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! If you value your time, money and sanity then this is not the place to buy furniture!!! Seems they only want your money in the end and not your continued business. I will never buy from here again after we bought three bedroom sets and a office set. Our master bedrooms set the magnolia collection has been a disaster we have had nightstands delivered 4 times damaged and bad workmanship and two beds and can't even get the third delivered we have had to sit at our house 9 times to wait for then to not even show up two of the times and the customer service can't do anything about anything so that's a waste of time there, and you better hurry up and wait to get your money back. Their policies I am told do not permit you to call the store and get the person who said they would call you back but never did. Their policies will not permit me to make a change in my order even though it's been less than 24 hours, or I will somehow incur a restocking fee for an item that has not yet been made for me. What other unfriendly to the customer policy will I be stumbling through trying to deal with these people who don't answer their phone? I have been in there store three times this week and there's about 6 people doing nothing and very few customers. Still can't answer their phone. read more

I think it's necessary to post an update, as the company at least gave a little effort to appease our issues after the fact. We have a $100 gift card coming our way, which is better than nothing. It doesn't change my experience at all of course, and for the amount of money we spent there I hardly feel any better. Just thought it fair that I acknowledge the small effort. I was excited to shop here, there are so many cool pieces of furniture and the sales people were very nice. That's where the fun stops. We spent about $6500 furnishing our new home. 2 sofas, 3 beds and 3 mattresses. We had our order all set up to pay and my husband had our credit card as he was driving in from out of town. They wouldn't take the picture of the credit card, understandable in this day and age. So tried to go with their suggestion of my husband calling it in with the order number, which didn't work because they did he needed access to the internet. Not sure why, but ok. We would just come back when he got into town later. This was all about 3:30 pm. Hubby got in around 7:30, back we come. Try to pay for the order, discover there's a box spring needed. $200 more dollars and a 30 minute wait. Now it's after 8 so we've lost our delivery window of 12-6 for the box spring. But we can pick it up with our truck. Ok, we do that. Now we are waiting from 12-6 for our delivery the next day. 2:30 call-delivery not available anymore because we paid after 8:00. New window of 6-midnight, but don't worry you'll be first or 2nd so it won't be late. It comes at 10:30 pm. Not only that, it's missing 2 pieces of furniture. Next day, call and am dissatisfied with the corporate. Go back to the store and speak with customer service. Those pieces aren't included, even though they're shown with the bed we purchased. More money and we can get them. I mean what a disgrace and an unethical way to conduct business. They only charged us for one of the pieces, so we got a $200 discount. After all that we went through and money spent at that store, you can bet it will take a miracle for me to walk through those doors again read more

Do not put stress on your life with this company. They are scammers. I purchased a table set from living spaces for thanksgiving 1 week before and they delivered it on Sunday 11/18 the table was broken. They came back Monday 11/19 with the same broken table and no hardware. They came back 11/20 with another broken table with a 2 inch scratch in it. I contacted customer service again now for a pick up and refund. They said the earliest pick up would be Sunday 11/25. They show up with no pick up list and another table top with no hardware and tell me they cannot pick up without the pick up form. Called customer service and made them pick up Sunday night at 9 pm. The customer service scammers are Valerie destiny and the floor supervisor eddy. The drivers all act like they Do not know what's going on living spaces make sure every time they send a new set of delivery drivers so they can act innocent this is a scam. Ugh terrible quality 3 piece sectional and even worse customer service!! We got the couch in July and with normal use the frame broke in October!! 4months of having couch and it broke!! In addition to the frame breaking there were two very split seams. Customer service picked up to repair as it's still under factory warranty...they said it would take 10-14 days...17 DAYS into them having it we hadn't heard ANYTHING from them so I called after being passed from person to person I finally got a call back from manager who said they were waiting for pieces to be delivered because couch wasn't made right!!! Wtf is that about a $2500+ couch wasn't made right?! And I only knew about this because I was calling them. I let her know I am hosting thanksgiving at my house and need our family room couch...thank God I called them because couch was delivered today the day before thanksgiving...had I never called it NEVER would have gotten here in time and who knows how long they would have our couch!! BUT then our couch Was delivered today and the seams are still ripped and the wooden feet were all beaten up...the delivery guy touched them up with a marker(which was nice of him, but doesn't reflect well about the repair warehouse). THEY DONT RESPECT THE PPL THAT KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS...NOT A COMPANY I WOULD RECOMMEND!! BUYER BEWARE!!! This company does not guarantee or warranty any of their products. They have a 7 day policy but it is very limited!! It's like buying something they can't stand behind. I bought a rug that after 4 weeks started to shed apart, it cost $500.00. Took it to the store and they wouldn't even look at it, but told me it had to be handled through their warranty department on line?!! The warranty dept. only covers furniture and appliances, nothing for rugs. If you use the furniture selection and try to put in rug or other it tells you they will contact you back in 20 min, (it's been 4 days and haven't heard from them). Their chat service is useless as it has programmed questions and if you don't fit their answers you are also told they will call you back. To call customer service, they tell you the wait is over 45 minutes (must tell you they must have a lot of bad products). We are seniors with no pets, the rug is obviously flawed. Again, don't buy there if you can't take the financial loss of faulty products! PS I have spent of $2500 with this store but never again. read more

My husband and I moved from out of state, cross country in fact, and came with zero furniture. We had never heard of living spaces, so we gave it a go. We started with our living room and had a few hiccups with our media console, but they sent three over until it was right. Everything else we have purchased was great. I would definitely recommend them. If I had one negative to say it's that there are too many people asking to assist you. Everywhere you go there is an associate. They don't work on commission and the people are friendly, but sometimes as a consumer you need a little space to breath and ponder. This is the only reason I am not giving them a 5 star. read more

I end up receiving a call that day and I'm told that there was an issue with getting it delivered to the store and that it would take a few days to get there. I call again on Sunday (13th) and I'm told that the sofa will be ready later that day or Monday at the latest. No word whatsoever from Living Spaces. I call again today and I'm told that it's been delayed until next week, which is ridiculous and completely misleading. Why advertise a certain date only to turn around and push it out??? We have had the WORST experience purchasing furniture EVER with this company. We were told our order would be ready for pick up Sunday so we rented a moving truck to come get our order only to find out it's not scheduled to come in until the following Sunday. The manager promised to waive the delivery fee and schedule us for same day delivery for the inconvenience. She said there was a transfer taking place and she would fix it and we'd be good to go. I called the next day to find out the delivery status only to be told it hadn't been scheduled and they couldn't deliver our order because there was a balance of $99 for the delivery fee. Now I'm TICKED. I explained the mess this has been the rep stated she'd fix it and they would deliver half the order that day and the other bed the next day. Fast forward to 10:50pm and our delivery shows up. They didn't leave until after 11:30 on a school/work night. I then take time off work to be home for the bed delivery the next day only to find out it's not even ready. I have to wait another 7-10 days for a bed that was promised to be delivered TODAY. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. RIDICULOUS COMMUNICATION. Think twice before ordering from here! NEVER AGAIN. We just bought a new house and have to furnish every room. We spent well over $3k on furniture and we're planning on spending more but after this fiasco we're taking our business elsewhere. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. read more

I asked for help in choosing a pillow. 2 associates recommended the same pillow for a side sleeper. I bought it. Got it home. there is a tag on the pillow and box stating it is for a back sleeper. Don't do business here! They have some nice furniture but each store is operated separately and there is no way to contact each store individually. They advertise prices individually on "clearance" items but then refuse to sell the pieces individually - or at least this store manager, Candace, does it that way. According to the national information line it is a personal decision. Misleading advertising is more accurate. read more

We have a AZ State tax exempt form that allows us as a non profit business to not pay taxes. So they want to loose $8900 worth of business for approx $600 of sales tax. read more

Had an incredible experience in the store when purchasing the couch that we got. Tons of selection, good quality, and some of the best customer service that I've experienced in a long time. My review would've been five stars except when our couch was finally delivered the back of it squeaked when someone would sit against it. I called customer service and they sent someone out to try to fix it. He wasn't able to fix it so he scheduled me to have a new couch delivered. I believe they build this couch from scratch so it took a few weeks to get the replacement couch. Unfortunately when the new couch arrived it still makes a sound when someone sits back against it, almost the same spot. Disappointing. I have to call them again to have someone come out again to see if I can fix this new problem. I must say though that I have been pleased with all of their delivery guys (2 deliveries for couch now) and the repair guy that came out who came out to try to fix it the first time. read more

I ordered $5,500 worth of furniture from them online to pick up at Gilbert store. There isn't an option to add an additional pick up person name online so I called to ask them to add my husbands name. They advised it can only be done at time of order and I should have done it then. I reminded that it's not an option and they said oh you are right, we still can't do it. I asked to speak to a manager at the store and the rep hung up on me. I called again and the next rep was extremely rude and refused to transfer me. I am only giving 2 stars because I like the furniture but we won't be buying anything else from them for the remainder of furniture we need. The response of we don't allow others to pick up is not acceptable given the nature of the business and they are behind all other furniture stores with this "undisclosed policy". I've order from 3 other companies and all have allowed me to designate my husband to pick up. Additional edits: I'm lowering the score from 2 to 1 now. After receiving the last little bit of furniture we were waiting on, I really only like 1 or 2 of the pieces and the others while ideally would be great, they are crap. 3 of the items I ordered were broken, and one of them there is nothing I can do about it because we didn't assemble it immediately (waiting for carpet install in the room it was going into, so left it in box so it wouldn't get damaged, funny right?) so we were past the 5 day return/exchange period. Of course I had to deal with the call center customer service again and that was an awful experience all over again. The only good thing I can say about this company at all is the Gilbert location customer service is pretty great. They still have to follow some awful company policies but they are definitely more customer service oriented. I wish I got the name of the gentleman in the warehouse for pick up/drop off, he was exceptional and seems like he will go out of his way for customers. read more

We spent several weeks driving all over Gilbert, Chandler and Mesa visiting furniture stores to find what we wanted for our new home. Living spaces was great to us. The sales staff was excellent. Helpful but no pressure. They were able to help us customize our selections to match our decor and walked us through the order and delivery process. We did have an issue with the recliners and were somewhat frustrated with the corporate customer service office. In the end we went back to the store and asked to speak to a manager. Crystal MacMahon looked into our order and our concerns and took care of everything. She was polite, helpful and able to turn the experience around. I am sure Living Spaces sells a ton of furniture and would be just fine without my business, but my concerns seemed to matter to Crystal and it was obvious she wanted us to come back next time we needed furnishings. True measures of companies is how they treat you when not everything goes right and how interested they are in helping you. When I first walked into Living Spaces, Sales Manager "Kara" greeted me like a Rock Star. (Which according to my academic/athletic resume, I probably am!) Then invited me to tour the facility at my leisure, with her and her team readily available to answer any questions. Like many other furniture stores, there was a huge selection of stylish quality merchandise at reasonable prices. But unlike most others, I wasn't pounced on and hovered over by commission-based salespeople. At the particular department I was interested in, I sought out "Greg" -- who displayed an encyclopedic knowledge of the reclining sofa I wanted. Upon returning a few days later, I was disappointed that Greg was off because I wanted to make sure he got the sale. But "Mae" explained how there were no commissions, then introduced me to "Dean." Not only did he skillfully close the deal on the recliner, but also a few other items that caught my eye in the online catalog -- while importantly complying with my request that both he and Greg would receive credit. At the checkout, "Joshua" expertly handled the somewhat complicated transaction and (after a phone call by Dean to the warehouse) greatly expedited the shipping process to my home. Delivery men "Frank" and "Marvin" then did a terrific job moving their precious cargo up to my twisty staircase, top floor apartment. (In perfect condition so I didn't need the extra protection warranty I'd purchased, which appears to be far superior to any I've seen before.) The "frosting on the cake" came when Kara casually mentioned all the charitable endeavors of this fine company. Especially for foster kids and our heroic veterans -- two of my FAVORITES. We bought a new Magnolia sofa from this store two months ago and it is already pilling and losing feathers. We spent over $2,500 on it and are aware that normal ware and tare happens, but are shocked that this happened after only two months. I went to the store after getting denied warranty online and they will be replacing it. The store is customer service is great, but I would not suggest the Magnolia sofa to anyone. read more

I bought furniture from living Spaces after looking at several stores I thought their quality seem better I paid $2400 for a couch and I bought some other pieces of furniture the couch was a sectional one of the pieces had to be replaced three times and then one of the reclining pieces broke someone come out to look at it it was a rivet that snapped in half and made the chair crooked and it couldn't be used I bought it's in October, It's now December 20 and I'm still waiting for them to fix it I went through Thanksgiving without it in my brand new house and now I'm going to go to Christmas with it being broken I am very on please and I will never shop there again read more

Seriously just got a bed Fran, super comfortable mattress and an adjustable base plus four pillows for $3000!! Oh yea and the warranty is in that price too. What??? I mean c'mon man! The furniture looks good. They have limited styles and sizes. We tried the furniture out at the store and it seemed comfortable. We got our couches and they were completely different from the store models. Extremely uncomfortable. The cushions don't fit right and so if you sit or lie on the couch, you end up falling into the crack that is between the pillows. I wish we would have just spent the money on better furniture. This junk must be made in China or Tijuana. It's awful quality. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Yesterday, January 29th we visited the Living Space facility in Gilbert. We were skeptical because of the yelp reviews. I had Living Spaces to a Co Worker and the reviews I read, she told me that Living Spaces wasn't anything like the reviews said when her and her husband visited there. In fact she said they had already bought 2 sets of furniture there. So we decided to go see what Living Spaces was all about. What a great surprise!! We found the furniture we were looking for. We had an employee in training Amada F. and she did a phenomenal job in helping us. We were even asked by another employee (I think it was a manager) if we wanted something to drink while we were completing our transaction. We would certainly give Living Spaces our business again. read more

We were excited to have another furniture store in the area that wasn't high pressure. They explained the difference in quality with their competitors by showing the insides of each. This sells you but don't believe it! We purchased a living room set and the fabric on one of the cushions was wrinkled upon delivery. Within 2 days every cushion sat on became wrinkled and you could see in the cushion corners how it was seen and pulled together. We immediately called their customer service on 6/24/16 and was issued a complaint number. We received an email to send pictures which we did on 6/27. We received confirmation they received the pics and we would be contacted within 24-48 hrs. After no call back, I called them on 7/8. They scheduled to have a technician inspect the cushions on 7/13. He took pictures and said someone from the warranty dept would contact us within 48 hrs. Nothing! I called them today, 7/22 and a rep came back on and said "you picked the fabric so it is not a mfgr defect." I asked to speak to a mgr and she came back on and said there is none available now and that they would call me by day's end. I then received an email that said "these requests are typically resolved within 24 hrs; however, it may take us longer to respond." I have no confidence that anyone will call Do not buy from this outfit unless you want poor quality and even poorer customer service! I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Update: Received a call from Ashley today 7/24/2016 in response to our request to speak to a manager. She stated that Warranty reviewed the pictures and report from the technician and came to the conclusion that the wrinkling was from normal wear and tear. We said it was delivered that way and has only gotten worse. Ashley said it was not a defect and that they had not seen any cases like this. I said that if they haven't seen any cases like this that our cushions must be a manufactured defect! What would the cushions look like in 10 years! She said they would replace the 2 cushions of the sectional and the cushion of the single chair. My wife stated that the single chair also had wrinkles where the arm was sewn. Ashley said she sees that in the picture and will have the technician repair it. Ashley said she will be ordering the cushion cores and the covers and will be shipped to our home and that a technician will then assemble them in our home. We stated that if the replacements are not satisfactory, we will take them to Small Claims Court. read more

My husband and I just recently purchased a home and remodeled. We were looking for new couches and entertainment sets and after reading the reviews about Living Spaces we code to check the Gilbert location out. We fell in love with a few pieces and purchased a couch set and 2 entertainment centers from them. We scheduled a date for delivery for the entertainment centers and the couches separately as they had 2 different dates of availability. This is where things went wrong. I was told a date and time for the entertainment centers by the sales staff and waited home until they delivery team had 30 minutes left to get to my house. I called customer service and was notified that they weren't delivering today, that our items weren't coming for another week. They so kindly waived the delivery fee due to not notifying me of the change. Next, the day comes that we are to get said entertainment centers and the day before they called to tell us they broke 1 of the 2 and there are no more that they have except their floor model. So upon working out a long drawn out deal, they tried to give 10% off on the used piece, we picked up the entertainment center from the store otherwise it would have been another week for us to get the second piece and risking them breaking that one too. And then we come to our couches. I called customer service the 3rd week after ordering to see if I could get an update on their eta. The sales lady told us 3-4 weeks because we chose a custom color. Their customer service said there's a delay and they weren't sure when they were getting our couches and someone would be in touch the next day. Next day came and gone, no one called. Called the store and they weren't sure either so they had to do some digging. Finally to find out that it was an error on their part and there was a day delay and the couches were in transport. We then get the couches and there are 5 pillows that we paid for that are missing. Their solution was to try to give a store credit or we had to wait 4 weeks to get the pillows. In the end we're happy with the product but SO dissatisfied with the customer service communication and the sales team knowledge that we will choose not to do business with Living Spaces again. We even bought the protection plan for the couches and the sales team said on multiple occasions that if there is a problem with them foam breaking down that it would be covered over the 5 year period we had the protection plan for, however there is NOTHING in their fine print saying that and eventually the manager copped to saying it's really up to Uniters if they want to cover it or not. read more

If I had read the reviews first, like I usually do, I would have gone down the street to Big Lots, we purchased a dresser, when we got it home it was cracked on top, the box was not dented and there was Styrofoam on the top, so it was packed with this dent!! I contacted them the next day, I have been sending e mails for a month now and no one seems to be getting the pics of the dent, it's also dented inside of the top. So far we still have a very dented dresser at my house. I guess you get what you pay for, still waiting for a response... read more
