Living Waters is a true neighborhood gem. I've been here for both coffee and beer, and it's all excellent. The vibes are chill and welcoming, as is the staff. If you're lucky enough to stop in on a night when they're running their pizza pop-up, you're in for a real treat. I think it was called Clutch & Throttle pizza, and it was just incredible when paired with some of Living Waters' signature brews. Offerings change with the seasons, but I can usually grab a glass of their Echo American Lager or their Kolsch Bier. I'm confused by the great reviews. I heard great things so I stopped in. The inside was fine. I opted for the couch between the barrels. I ordered a latte and the photo is how it came out. For $7, it was terrible. Down to the milk that was used. 5 minutes in, they started blasting music and I realized they are definitely more brewery than coffee shop. That's fine but if you call yourself a coffee shop, then coffee had still better be good. I decided to just walk out and leave the coffee. Not impressed! read more

As a self proclaimed coffee snob, this was really good coffee. We got a drip coffee and cappuccino and both were amazing! There was only 1 staff working but it wasn't very busy so wasn't a big deal. It's a nice building but it's very dark inside so just keep that in mind. read more

I haven't tried the brews here but this is one of my favorite coffee shops in East Nashville. The cold brew and iced vanilla latte are top notch and I love how they serve it with a big whiskey ice cube. The vibes are amazing to get some work done, catch up with friends, business meetings, etc. It is such a well designed, aesthetically pleasing coffee shop with such chill vibes. Its like a elevated library with good music. Service can be inconsistent and they seem to take their time here so not the spot for a quick grab and go coffee drink. Amazing coffee and amazing staff. Been looking for a brew bar and came across this gem. My goal was to try different varieties of pour overs, and LWB did NOT disappoint. Gabby (Gabi?) was so helpful in helping me make a selection and was so knowledgeable. Always afraid that at "real" coffee shops, the staff will be snobs but that's not the case here. As for the coffee??? Superb! Like I said, a lot of different varieties, and the pour over menu rotates monthly. Atmosphere? Work environment friendly, with appropriate music. Not too loud, but enough noise to have a personal conversation without the person next to you hearing. Ample seating, clean restrooms, oh and it's next to a record store. Win-win. Based on customer service alone, I will go back, but I'm stoked to see what they have next month! read more

Three coffee shops in and I have found the place. Thanks to my son, the finder of great places. Wide open, chill music, chill people, a great place for meet ups or just getting some work done, lots of spaces to sit, good cup of coffee. Bar tender is relaxed and helpful, unpretentious. As often as I stop in at Grimey's, until recently I never thought to also check out Living Waters though they share a parking lot. I'm glad I finally did! For one thing, they're offering the best of two important things: coffee and beer. So no matter what time of day you're in the area (well, so long as they're open!) you're covered. Craft coffees, excellent craft beers (I particularly love their "pretzel" tasting lager), and a spacious welcoming layout where you can post up and do a bit of work on your laptop if you so desire. So stop in at Grimey's and pick yourself up a stack of records then head next door for a hot coffee or a cold beer. Really friendly, helpful staff who make excellent recommendations to boot. read more

No flights allowed. You can only do 2, 5 oz pours per person. I waited in line for 30 minutes, got to the front and when I tried to order 4, 5oz pours I was asked who the other person was. I was confused. The server told me she could ring up all 4 though, and I could come back. "Wait, so, I would have to get back in line for 30 minutes to get the remaining two samples?" "Yes, I"m sorry" So if you want to try multiple beers here you have two options: - Buy full 16oz pours and get DUI-drunk (how silly is it that you can buy a 16oz pint but not 3, 5oz pours..which amount to LESS beer at 15 oz?) - Lie and say you are buying 5 oz pours for your friends Beer is very good, it's too bad the service is so aloof and pretentious. Living Waters is one of the most chill breweries I've ever been to. Granted, I visited around noon on a Friday, so it wasn't busy and there were several single people working on laptops, but the vibes of this place made me want to stay all day. Great playlist, great beer, comfortable atmosphere, and a coffee bar. What more could you want? It was strange that they only serve two 5 oz. pours at a time per person. The explanation was that it was "due to temperature." I've been to a ton of breweries and have never encountered this, but since we weren't on a tight schedule and it wasn't busy, it wasn't an issue for us. I can see where that might be annoying when the brewery is busy though. I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area again. read more

This was my first visit and I was impressed with the vibe. Loved the decor and the building is very unique. However, if I am going to pay 5.00+ for a cup of drip coffee, I expect the person serving it to be a little more kind and enthusiastic. He made me feel like asking for drip coffee was a hassle. Super cute spot! Visiting from Portland, I was hesitant about the craft beer scene in Nashville but this place did not disappoint. There appeared to be a lot of locals doing work on their laptops and taking meetings. We just came in for a casual drink so it was great! There were good options for beer lovers and non-beer lovers or those adventurous to try a sour. The flavors were balanced and accurate to their descriptions. You should note- It is a brewery and that means it smells like they are brewing beer... I love that smell but a few folks in our group aren't used to it and so they had some aversion to the hop smell. Next time I'm in Nashville, I can't wait to go back! read more

I regularly stop by after yoga and it makes my morning. A sweat sesh and a chai is a perfect morning for me. You can find Living Waters Brewing at 1056 E Trinity Ln Ste 101, Nashville, TN 37216. This is in East Nashville which is more a region of the city than being east of Nashville proper. There's some limited parking out front and an additional lot in the back - I've come here on different days and times and haven't encountered a time where I wasn't able to find parking. Living waters has an interesting concept that I love - they do great coffee and they do great beer. I'm not sure how they staff with such a broad scope of business as they open quite early and close quite late. Whatever sacrifices they make are well worth my time, regardless. They have a great variety of beer, all good in my opinion, and they take a lot of care in making sure your coffee has the best quality standards. Yesterday morning I hit them for coffee - it was an espresso with milk - that was simply perfect. Coffees of this quality takes both skill and time but well worth it. Previously I've enjoyed quite a bit of beer from Living Waters. The other night I tried these: Highgate Imperial NEIPA 7.5% ABV - Well executed NEIPA with hazy tropical body, notes of coconut with a clean, slightly bitter dry finish. Multnomah Fruited Gose 6% ABV - Gose double-fruited with blueberry purée and blueberry muffins. A great poolside crusher this refreshing gose is sure to remind you of your favorite blueberry pastry and sweet tarts. Mille Imperial Milk Stout 9.3% ABV - This could get me drinking coffee stouts again, low bitterness roast coffee and sweet chocolate notes produces the perfect balance in this creamy thick stout. The service here is always quite good - they're always willing to make suggestions based on your likes. Kudos to this great brewery. read more

I love coffee. I love beer. But the mixed smell of both inside of Living Waters made me feel nauseous... and I wouldn't say that I have a sensitive nose. Luckily, there was outdoor seating! They allow two 5 oz pours per person at a time, so you'll need to split your order and go to the bar at least twice if you want to do a flight. My favorite was the dark red sour but in general, I wish that their beers had more body and flavor. Many were too watery or light for my personal taste. They have a good sized parking lot. This spot was awesome. Love the chill coffeshop vibes while we were having beer. Would absolutely come.back to try some of the coffee drinks and cocktails. Their beer was also pretty great. If you need a space to rest and relax after thrift shopping, look no further. Huge open space, some sofas and comfy seating, plus plenty other tables. Stopped by on an early afternoon on Sunday, not busy at all. Some good NA options, like this refreshing rose water spritz, forgot what else was in it but loved it. We also tried a signature light beer, which we also enjoyed. Friendly staff. Nice place to hang or meet friends. I'm a fan. I'm definitely a fan. What a fun idea. What a great location. What a solid execution. A lot of the time, I look around Nashville and see things that are done just for the he11 of it. Living Waters makes sense and adds to the coffee/beer landscape. It makes sense and fills a hole. If you haven't checked it out, you need to fix this. The first thing I enjoy about the space is the location. If you would have told me, four years ago, that anything new would pop up on Trinity Lane, I would have laughed at you. Now, there are new builds, dense living, breweries, and coffee shops. On Trinity Lane. What a time to be alive in Nashville. Of course, the demographic issue is problematic but one gentrifying issue at a time. The win here is that the 'East Nashville' footprint has expanded past an intersection. This is progress... sort of. Once I oriented myself, I was ready to walk in and see what this experiment was all about. I was pretty shocked how busy it was on an early fall Thursday afternoon. I was expecting to have the place to myself. Nope. There were so many butts in seats that I had to belly up to the bar. Know this. If you come at a more popular time, you may have to consider where you sit. Luckily, the shared space has plenty of parking. The murals are beautiful, the music fits the space and the employees were both chatty and kind. The vibe is all the way right here and I can see why so many people just never left. Seriously, for the entirety of my stay, no one left. (More) People entered but no one left. Being that gluten and I have consciously uncoupled, I spent my time perusing the coffee menu. I am more of a tea man but I wanted to fit in... so I made a pain in the @ss of myself by asking what could be made with nut milk, etc. If it weren't for such being de rigueur these days, I'd be embarrassed. More. I'd be more embarrassed. Unsurprisingly, the baristas had seen my kind before* and had answers at the ready. As I've written before, when given a choice, I like to go with specialty coffee drinks over the usual suspects. That meant I was having the colada. Yep, I ordered a citrus-forward 'colada' stle coffee beverage, served with a large ice cube and a pineapple leaf. It was different. I drank the entire thing without issue so... I liked it... but it was different. Drinking it, I flashed back to those chocolate oranges. Remember those? I kept flashing back to those. They had bakery-esque food available but none was gluten-free so** I kept my patronage to the liquid variety. I finished my drink, thanked the baristas, made a mental note to sit in the library next time, and made my exit. The brewery/coffee shop has been around for a little while now yet I hadn't heard/read much about it. My profile might not be as amplified as it once was (working on it) but, hopefully, this review will help get some butts in seats. This spot was my saving grace on my trip to Nashville! We stayed in the Airbnb spots right next door to here and I snuck away a couple of times to get some much needed rest and hit my reset button for the weekend. This spot is seriously an introvert dream. The inside has a very calming feel to it and my iced vanilla latte was so good- not too strong, not too sweet. My hot one the next day with oat milk was just as phenomenal! The baristas here were super cool and extremely helpful if anybody in our group had questions (because there's a lot to look at and try)! My wife and I are picky with our brews and the coffee we drink, and after trying some of the local coffee shops we had resulted to just rely on the good ol Starbucks coffee. After tasting many of the Living waters brews and coffee we can definitely say that these guys know what they're doing. Another of my favorite breweries in Nashville. Went by yesterday to pick up my barrel aged beer bottles and ran into Krazy Kyle of the predators and stayed until 7 PM. Met some new friends from Columbus, Ohio as well. The place is smaller than some micros in the area, but has enough varieties in seating to feel like a brewery or a coffee shop (which it also is). Love the staff. Very knowledgeable about the product and friendly. When I was there they have a few barrel aged darks on tap, one in a rum barrel and two in different versions of WIllet barrels. But, this is not surprising, as Living Waters makes some of the best darks in town. Of the breweries that have opened in the past few years, this is one of the ones that started hitting home runs out of the gate. read more

Living Waters is not only an exceptional brewery, but it is also a fantastic breakfast spot. Their breakfast burritos are delicious, and coffee/espresso drinks (specifically the Vanilla Latte) are great. Also, their baristas/beertenders have consistently been kind, polite, and helpful throughout all my endeavors. I also love Living Waters because it is usually a bit quieter, which provides a more intimate experience when hanging out with friends. They had delicious sounding pastry items on their menu. But they did not exist. Instead there was one lone donut. Which is suspect is a left over from yesterday. They offer $5 pour overs, $6 lattes (mocha and vanilla), and very expensive cold brew. That's it.
