    Fake friend chicken...
    Jade L.

I bought a chef salad with fried chicken and all of the fried chicken was breading only with no meat. It was so disappointing to think you're eating chicken and only taste breading and bones. I called and they said that it's normally like that and they suggest to get fried strips instead. Seems like it should be be a given if it's known that that can't achieve the appropriate salad on request. I was in the drive through All the "friend chicken" bits is in the picture is what was on the entire salad, it was breading and no meat.

VERY NASTY!!! The service here is very horrible. I came inside for help with an online order and there were two women who were very rude to me for no reason at all! Both of these women gave me hostile energy and even tried to send me to another Lizard Thicket! This will be my last time at this distasteful establishment. They even sent a black man to take my order out of spite.

I found plastic wrap in my collards. I was hoping for a full refund but was unable to get all the food back to them.

    Cold food smothered in gravy.

Food was cold, looked like something out of a horror movie. Taste was passable, but looked like something else if you catch my drift. Service was ok and fast, probably because they bulk cooked these things and put them on plates before hand. Skip this place and go to Cracker Barrel instead. Your stomach will thank you. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to use the bathroom

"Purty" good meal at a decent price. I had the baked chicken, rice with gravy, and baby limas, so good, so good. Saving the pecan pie for later. Yummelicious. Will definitely be back before leaving town. Sa

Came in about 10am today ( Wednesday, June 12, 2019) and it's a seat yourself place. Apparently popular with the older locals as a go to hang out eatery. Wife and I were looking for greasy spoon breakfast joint and this one fits well. I had the 2 eggs, sausage links, grits and toast. Wife had a chicken biscuit. Food was marginal at best; chicken on biscuit was undercooked; grits were thick but tasteless, eggs were too runny for over medium as requested, I asked for toast no butter, they were buttered. They don't serve ham. Staff was very friendly and place appeared clean. 5 star for staff, 1 star for food. Probably a hit or miss place, at best.

Small plate or fried flounder. Squash casserole. And cabbage

BBQ Buffet!? Doc's…read moreBBQ is a must stop for anyone that's into BBQ with a big appetite. The setup here is buffet style all you can eat BBQ and side. YES! All you can eat. What an amazing concept. I can say that the food quality is pretty awesome especially considering the buffet style restaurant. I've been twice now and both times the food was awesome and they don't pull back on anything here. The only issue is they do have some weird hours but for what you get and how they do things it's totally worth a trip during lunch. I highly recommend hitting this spot if you're a fan of BBQ and have ever felt like you didn't here get enough of your favorite BBQ dishes.

Well, at $14.50 back then for the buffet, I thought I was in heaven. A huge array of choices that will induce the heart attack I was looking for. Price has obviously gone up a tick, but it's still a great deal imho. Since the restaurant was super busy, everything felt extremely fresh. As for mains, I guess I enjoyed the fried chicken a lot since I keep refilling ny plate with it. I also tried a little bit of everything else, including the bbq pulled pork, fried catfish nuggets, and meatloaf (Tuesday special). They were all good. As for sides, there were plenty to choose from. All the southern staples are here, like mac & cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, potato salad, hush puppies, etc. Don't forget to get some desserts too. I like their peach cobbler. A place like this can only survive in the south. I wish we had something remotely resembling Doc's back in NYC, but it'll never work. I'll just have to visit the south more often for gems like these.
