While eating out after work a couple of weeks ago, someone backed into my car in the parking lot and shattered my back bumper. Luckily the car was still drivable; after dealing with the insurance company I needed to get the bumper fixed, which was actually a pretty big job since it included a number of the modern sensors to warn of blind spots and cross traffic. I went to a couple of the better collision centers near me that were highly rated on Yelp. I ended up picking LJI because they had a great facility and really took charge and reassured me that I would be in good hands. The LJI in Beachwood (they also have a facility in Cleveland Heights) is located on Chagrin just East of I-271 in the same building as Choolaah. Once inside I was very impressed with how clean and modern the shop and the office are. The waiting room is very nice and features a small boutique. Once I arranged for them to get the claim from Progressive they handled everything including setting up the rental and let me know that they could get me in the next week. Dropping off the car was easy and the rental was there and ready to go. The estimate was that the car would be ready in about 1 week and they might send it to the Cleveland Heights shop. After a week I got a call letting me know that the car should be ready the next day and then a follow up call to let me know when the car was done. Picking up the car was also easy, the cost to me was only the deductible, minimal paperwork and of course turning in the rental. The repair job was excellent, the back of the car looks brand new, in addition they actually cleaned the car inside and out. Exemplary work and a great job of going above and beyond. I really appreciate how easy they made repairing my car, the staff is great, they communicated with me when they promised and delivered as promised. LJI is clearly one of the best auto collision centers and well worth using if you need auto body work done. I would highly recommend that you consider them. read more

I was quite disappointed in the quality of service given the high average rating here. My car had two exterior light issues and they had my car for nearly a week due to this shop ordering or receiving the wrong part twice. After all that time, somehow I ended up getting charged a few hundred dollars for labor to cover a cracked light cover in scotch tape and replace nearly every exterior light without solving the initial problems. Ultimately I, someone who has never worked on a car before, was able to fix the problems in less than 30 minutes with parts that cost less than $30, ChatGPT, and a single YouTube video. Months later now and everything I did is still working great. read more

I picked up my vehicle from LJI Collision Center today, October 29th at 11:10 AM, and in my experience, I would not recommend this shop. My 2-month-old car went in for deer damage with zero scratches beforehand. When I picked it up, I later discovered multiple scratches throughout the vehicle, including on the newly installed bumper, and the car was not detailed as I was told it would be. When I called to address it, I was told to drive back--an hour each way--only to feel as though I was being treated like I was making the issue up. The detailer personally told me he had not touched or detailed my car, meaning it was released to me before the job was complete. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, I received defensive responses and was given a lecture on "how to clean a black car," which felt dismissive and unprofessional. While I was there, the owner, Mike, instructed the detailer to "just take it in the back, clean the floor mats, wash the windows, and 3-step the scratches." The way it was handled made me feel as if the goal was simply to get me out the door quickly rather than thoroughly finish the job I paid for. A rushed 30-minute "fix" was not a proper detail, and the scratches are still visible. The car remains only partially cleaned. For nearly $9,000 in repairs, I expected professionalism, care, and quality workmanship. In my opinion, my Jeep Cherokee should receive the same level of respect and attention as the Porsches sitting on their lot--but that was not my experience. Because of this, I will not return, and I have informed the people who referred me here. They have assured me they will no longer be recommending LJI Collision Center to others. read more

Unfortunately my neighbor backed into my car and needed to get the passenger side fender replaced along with the paint protection flim. The collision center i used to go to had a new owner, so I decided to go to LJI. They did an amazing job. The work was not only top notch, their customer service was wonderful. When I picked up my car there was a small chip in the trunk that I didn't recall. They offered to touch it up. The touch up didn't really help, so the offered to repaint the entire trunk lid. Great big thumbs up and shout out to LJI Collision! Someone hit my parked vehicle and did not leave a note (I know, right?). I stopped at LJI today with the goal of making a day and time to bring it in for repair. Mike took a look at the damage, said, "Wait here with your pooch, and I'll be right back." He returned with a couple of cloths and a bottle of he-won't-divulge-the-recipe, and proceeded to rub off the paint the other driver left for me, plus applied some elbow grease to a couple of scratches and made those a bit better. There's still a crack in the plastic, but I'll continue to live with that (it's been there a while). Mike made my day! read more

Brought a car here on an insurance claim after being told about their impressive work and how easy they were to work with. Despite being a 35 minute drive from home, I went out on a limb and gave them my business. What I experienced was unbelievable: unprofessional service and poor attention to detail. Original schedule was to have the work complete in 26 days. I had to make 5 separate visits, pointing out sloppy work (paint bubbles, a broken mirror, paint gouges, missing panel connectors, a loose grill, missing paint on fasteners, and so on). It took another month of leaving work early to get there within their rigid hours, only to get fed up with being called picky and being fed excuses. Jeffrey even mentioned on my third visit that, "I don't care how long it takes, the car can stay here forever." I took that as a joke at first, but their bad attitudes and incapability to handle the simple fixes I noticed on my first visit led me to realize the problem with LJI: they've been in business for several decades, and they don't care what you think. They believe they're the only show in town, and they act like it. After 49 days of back and forth, I finally just took the car home and decided to fix the rest of the issues on my own time. Their efforts to communicate were lackluster. Rather than speak with me directly, they chose to leave vague voicemails on my cell phone, which doesn't have service at my office. They refused to call my office number and talk to me directly. Attempts to receive email updates were snubbed. Expect the following when you do business with LJI: - Mike will remind you how long they've been in business, and use this to rationalize being rude. - Jeff will politely talk down to you. - Jill won't know what's happening in the shop. - They'll break stuff when they're working on your car, and depend on you noticing it to fix their mistakes. - LJI will wash and vacuum your car better than anyone else. I took my Elantra in for an estimate. It was pouring rain, but Jeff Angie offered to get my car and bring it in to look at it right away. There were several nicks and scrapes due to rocks hitting the frame or me hitting a curb, nothing major, but it was bothering me. I expected that I would have to leave my car to be fixed and the price would not be super cheap - - but NO, Jeff said he could do a "fix" right then and there. And then, surprised me by saying that since it was easy, there was no charge. I have used LJI before for more major work and liked how pleasant they were and how clean and comfortable their place was - but this experience took "customer care" to a whole new level. They were able to access my problem and give me an estimate within 20 minutes of my arrival, had someone drive me home while they worked on my car, and not only fixed my car in the same day (it only took a few hours in fact), they returned my car to me having also vacuumed and tidied the inside. I asked this place if they only did body work or if they also repaired cars because my car had a check engine light on and was shaking. They said they would look at it right away and that they could also take care of mechanical repairs. However, even though all I needed was new spark plugs, the owner suggested that I get rid of my Lexus instead of repairing it. He also asked me if I needed to consult with my mother about the car (I'm a 33-year-old woman. It's my car. I have no idea what made him assume I was a teenager and why he would suggest that I sell or get rid of a nice car for the cost of replacing the spark plugs). Even though the repair was completely contained to the engine, this place decided to clean my car without asking me, which would seem like a nice thing, but in the process they damaged the seats of my car. When I showed this to them immediately upon picking up the car, they denied being in the cabin of my car. I said, "well you boxed up my things in the back seat, so clearly you were in my car." Then they said that the damage must have already been there. I insisted it had not. They then made me feel like a terrible person for asking them to repair it. They publicly shamed me for asking them to make a note on my receipt that I could come back to have the seats repaired shouting "Oh! This one has trust issues!" The woman behind the counter stood there slack-jawed and in shock that I would ask her to make such a note and said "he has been doing this for years." I don't know what his experience with body work has to do with his ability to fix damage that his crew did to my vehicle. I wasn't questioning his knowledge of cars, I was asking him to repair what he damaged. I was so upset and embarrassed that I decided it wasn't worth going back to that place ever again, even to have my seats repaired. While I will never go there again, I would like to warn people about the type of people that own this place. They may be nice to you when everything goes smoothly, but I'd be very wary of them as far as pricing (especially if you're a woman) and don't expect them to be nice to you if they screw up. read more

Went to LJI this morning around 11:15am--it was technically after their hours of operation, but Laurie was so so sweet, to the point, welcoming and had a great memory.
