I bought a remanufactured transmission from them for my Ram Promaster. It failed immediately and now the replacement has also failed, so I'm waiting on a third one. Meanwhile I have been without use of my van for 2 months now. There warranty doesn't cover the full cost of doing the replacements, despite these things malfunctioning immediately - error codes coming up in a couple hundred miles both times. The dealership ate the extra costs the first time, but but this time I'll be on the hook for probably over an extra $1000+ dollars and am not even confident this one will work either. How many times are you going to keep sending malfunctioning products? Edit: In response to the message below from LKQ, I've tried talking to people at that number and haven't received any useful assistance. Your sale rep Rick Leibowitz assured me there's nothing he can do and I haven't received a call back from the sales manager Chad Morris. So it seems sending out 2 defective transmissions in a row is business as usual. If you're sincere about "making things right" please have someone who can do something about it get in touch with me. Meanwhile I'm on the hook for installing the THIRD transmission; hope this one isn't a dud as well. read more

Did they have the part? Yes. Part I wanted (Hitch mount with wiring) was still on the vehicle so I had to wait a day, was not in a hurry, yet I requested they take the bolts with it. They said no guarantee, which means No way. When I went to put it on, instead of just unsnapping the wire harness, they CUT IT. Really???? what's the point, buy the time I buy the bolts and the connectors, it cost the same as just going to uhaul. The above sucked, but they are also over the top with their covid policy. When you go by the building, they have ripped signs saying the office is closed, you have to order part over phone, then when you pick up, you go around to another building vs the normal office, and then you have to call before you can even get someone to come out. Almost all of Redding is open without masks and they are the only auto place I've seen that is this scared or using it to avoid people. The guy that came out could give a Sh#@$, no personality, was like he was HAF and your just some idiot that needs a part. Never again. There are other places. read more

I run a small business and bought an engine through LKQ for $1800.00. I installed it in a 98 Cadillac Deville which is a very extensive install, the engine has to come out through the bottom. The cradle with all suspension, engine, transmission, anti-lock brake controller and a major wiring harness has to be removed from the vehicle. All together with labor, parts, fluids and such the total bill was about $2200.00, plus cost of engine. After doing this install I start the car up and it smokes like a freight train, engine is no good, either has a cracked head or blown head gasket. I call LKQ and tell them what's going on right away. I was told that they would replace the engine, however they would not cover any labor. I make calls to supervisor, he also tells me LKQ will not cover anything. So... bottom line... engine wasn't properly tested or maybe not even tested at all and THE CUSTOMER EATS IT!!!! Very bad business LKQ!!! Well... you lose your customers one at a time and from other reviews I've read, it looks like your losing a lot of customers!!! I can promise you this, I will tell as many people as I possibly can about your shady business policies. I guess you think your too big to fail, that a lot of your small businesses have no choice but to use you. Your mistake is to underestimate an unsatisfied customer, I have what I believe is a brilliant idea to create some (MAJOR) competition against you. Time will tell!!! I am giving them a one star as all I did was called Gene and asked him about his warranty and high almighty thinking he is God, did not answered my questions , next I aske Gene for his manager and the manager never called me back after I left him a message. this is not a professional way to handle business. He also had us fooled believing we paying for expedited shipping when in reality package was sent on regular shipping. ... Not a way to handle your customers Gene. Horrible business practice, I've been waiting on a refund check for a bad engine I purchased from them. They told me it shipped it 2 weeks ago, called today after wondering why it was taking so long. Talked to accounting and they said it was just cut and will be shipped out today(3/13/15) or Monday when they opened again. This refund process started on Febuary 20th. This is just crap for how long it takes for a refund for a bad engine they sold me in the first place. Would not use this company, how they become so large is questionable. read more

They took my order over the phone and promised to ship the part. 10 days later, the part hadn't arrived. When I called them, they told me the part they had was bad but all they could do was credit me back my purchase price. Meanwhile, I'm stuck for ten days waiting for something that apparently was never going to arrive and the only way I find out is by calling them. Really bad service. read more

Horrible horrible horrible I got 3 bad engines in a row even bought the extended warranty but each time the engine was installed they had to send a inspector out to see if the engine was really bad each time it took between three and five days to get the inspector to come out and run all kinds of silly tests to make sure the engine was not good it was a big huge long drawn-out runarounds of them trying to not pay the labor for putting the engine In and Out 3 times in the end they did pay and finally got a decent motor after the third time. Unfortunately this was not my only bad experience with them fact is on other numerous occasions that I have ordered parts from them they have been wrong or not working and took way more time to be delivered then was told I highly recommend you go somewhere else besides LKQ I believe they deserve no stars but this site makes you at least give them one read more

i ordered a door over the phone and they shipped it to my mechanic. It was a manual window door and i ordered an electric window. the guy tells me to convert it myself and tells me how to do it. i called the next day asking to return it and he said the only way he would return it was if i drove all the way there and delivered it myself. i live 3 hrs away from their nearest place. they sent the wrong part and i get punished for it because they wont ship it back. read more

I ordered a front end assembly for a Ford F350 DIESEL. The guy took my VIN # to make sure he ORDERED the right front end. He also told me it would be complete. When I got the front end it had a factory stamp saying it was a 7.5L (gas) not 7.3L (diesel). Half the parts that were suppose to be there weren't there. When I called them back the place me on hold pretty much all day. Then when I finally lost my temper they said they found the rest of my parts and would get them to me in a couple days. When I got those parts they were also WRONG!! I've oreded parts from them over 20 times. Only once have they actually gotten the right parts. This was the last straw. Never Again read more

I ordered a rear axel assembly for my jeep grand Cherokee and had it shipped to my shop. After it was installed, the delivery man came and picked up the old one. When I called LKQ to see if my 100.00 core charge was being returned, they said they never picked up the old one. My shop called them also. Its been two months and I am still waiting for my refund. LKQ driver hit my car three months ago. The Driver( who was in early twenties) immediately offered to fix my car through their own company/parts since that is what they do. I told the damages are above $500, and legally I need to inform my insurance company. He got very disturbed and started Cursing and swearing. As I was calling my insurance company , the driver managed to call 911 and report the accident and he claimed that I hit his truck. Of course there were no damages to his truck!! Anyhow, I ended up paying $500 out of my pocket for my deductible to get my car fixed. Once I mentioned my story to the Body shop which was fixing my car , he provided some insight on LKQ . Apparently, if any of the LKQ drivers get into accident, they have to pay $2800 out of their pay/pocket, for the first accident , and they will lose their job on second incident . read more

This is the absolute worst Parts house there is. Do not buy parts from here. They sent us a used transmission. It was damaged internally. We called them immediately. We wanted to return it. Steve lead me on for 10 days stating they would come pick it up. They never did. Finally Don the claims manager calls to say we damaged the transmission. They are a rip off. I ordered a hood and was very carefule to give the the correct make and model emphasizing the car was a coupe, drove 100 miles only to find they were trying to push a a hood for a sedan rather then a coup and of course it was the wrong one. They finally get me the right hood but can't figure out how to refund me the difference. 1 year later they still got my 5 bucks. read more

I bought a transmission from the Redding California location for a BMW wagon. They assured me that it had been tested and all of the soft parts had been replaced. My shop received the transmission on a Monday AM and had it installed on the same day. The problem was that the transmission was no good. No reverse just like the one I took out. Three days later after a run around from lkq they had me take the car to the local BMW dealer and have them test the transmission ($150.00 later) BMW said that the transmission is no good. I report and send that info to the Warranty manager Don Johnson and that is not good enough he wants more testing done. These people at lkq do not call back and do not follow through on their product or services. Now I am taking out their transmission and having to get another one. They will not reimburse me for the cost at the BMW dealer or for the oil ($160.00) that I had to put in their piece of junk transmission. LKQ is awful. I bought a used transmission ($700) from them which turned out to be bad. Then, they sent another one which is OK. The problem is: the transmission repair shop charged me $1100 for two labor costs. When I asked LKQ to pay for the cost of the first labor because they had sold me a bad product, they told that I was on my own. I ended up paying $1100 instead of $528 that I was originally supposed to pay. What a bunch of crooks. They prey on trusting customers. read more

Called right away and nine months later I'm still waiting for this to get resolved!!!! Never again will I deal with this monster corporation. This place is has terrible service. My company ordered a transmission from them and even paid the extra money for a 1 yr warranty. The transmission failed within 2 months of installing it! after sending 2 transmissions that were WORSE than the one that failed and 1 that was the WRONG transmission, they finally sent a decent transmission and now they are REFUSING TO HONOR THEIR OWN WARRANTY!!!! HORRIBLE ONLINE SERVICE, three emails requests for a distributor never anwsered...no reply whatsoever even though I found the part on the online parts locator... So I called... put on hold for almost 20 minutes, explained what I was looking for twice, 1980 ford 350 van 400m engine electronic ignition distributor, waited again on hold over 5 minutes... they hung up on me. Redialed... waited another 20 minutes on hold, finally talked to a idiot. I explained what I needed and that they have two listed on the parts locator online from their website, all I need to know was it electronic ignition or not? he wanted a vin number, explained that its not an original engine in the truck 3 times... he still demanded the vin# idiot that wont help you in this case... just tell me if the two ford vans 400 engine you have listed online have electronic ignition or not and how much it is... disgusted with their service read more
