We were traveling from Orange County heading to Weed to spend a few days when the engine light of my suburban went on. The car was also making some clicking noises. We had the car towed on Sunday night and brought it to Perry's after my nephew researched their website. On Monday we were there at 8am and to our surprise there was a line of people already in the office. We figured we had no chance but the fact that they were super busy was a good sign. Amy took care of us and said they were super busy but would get someone to do a quick diagnosis. Jeremy, the Manager, stopped everything he was doing and provided us with a quick diagnosis and our options. The car had not been serviced in a while And it needed a new transmission. Expensive but the fact that Jeremy took immediate care of our needs and provided options plus we felt so comfortable with the way he handled it. The rest of the staff were very friendly and super helpful. It's a bummer that our car broke down but I am thankful for repair shops like Perry's who are honest and handle their business with integrity and care for the people that get stranded in the middle of no where while traveling on vacation. They did the job quickly, but the parts ended up failing (not their fault). What impressed me most is how they handled it--they found the issue, explained everything clearly, and replaced the bad parts right away at no extra cost. Further, they transported me back and forth from my home so I did not have to sit at their shop. Total professionalism! I initially spoke to Jeremy, regarding an issue with our Chrysler Crossfire. There are very few Auto Repair centers in town that will work on these. Jeremy spent all the time I needed, chatting with me regarding the car. He is polite, professional and friendly. SJ Denham charged almost $300 for a misdiagnosis and told me they couldn't get the part for it, which wasn't correct anyway. Perry's did another diagnosis, which revealed a different problem. They fixed the issue they found and the car so far is running fine. The cost of the diagnostic and repair was about half of what SJ Denham charged just for a diagnosis. I appreciate Perry's and Jeremy's honest approach and their excellent staff and attention to customer satisfaction. I HIGHLY recommend this shop. read more

I took my car in air bag light was on and power steering was squealing. The diagnosis for air bag was 177.00 and at the end said sensor was no longer made and couldn't fix. Charged me 7oo for diagnosis and replacing hoses on power steering . I would never trust them for anything. I've been working on cars my whole life until turned 72 I would say total RIP off. I took my older diesel P/U to Perry's for a "service engine soon" light that had been coming on. I had taken my truck to a number of other shops but no was able to correctly diagnose the the problem. Perry's diesel mechanic, Chris, ran diagnostics and within an hour he found the problem! They had to order the part which took a day to ship. The part came in the next day as promised and I brought the truck back in the following day for the repair. The repairs were completed in about an hour. Their diagnoses was spot on and my truck hasn't run this good in a long time. This shop provides great customer service and follow up. During that 20 minutes I had great conversations with Patrick and (sorry I forgot the following names) another service writer and the super friendly office manager. These folks are clearly not just being nice because you're the customer - they REALLY were so super friendly. I was even given a free Drumstick ice cream on this hot day! I brought my car in for axle replacement due to clunking noise. Since it was a rare part, they couldn't source it locally, dealership, or online vendors. Unfortunately, I paid for the diagnosis and took the car home. They told me to find/buy the part and bring the car back for a quick swap (1 hour service max) at the later date.... A few months pass and I was able to source a new axle on my own. I called in to setup an appointment. However, they want to charge $900 now. They are justifying this ridiculous cost with warranty, labor costs, and business protocol. In addition, they offered to buy another axle on their own for $$280 and install it for another $620. Come on guys... this does not require any custom work. You want to charge $900 for 30 minutes of work? Even brain surgeons and rocket scientists do not ask for that much. Is this how you prey on your customers who are at the mercy of their car problems? Very disappointed for the good reputation you've built over the years on here.... read more
