Great for marine parts but it's also just a great hardware shop. Great stainless steel hardware selection. Nice staff.

They had a bunch of stuff for free outside for anyone to take, which says a lot about this business. Just bought a home and Mik, Lacy, and Frank have all been helpful in helping me figure out what is useful and what might not be. Will definitely be taking my business to see them for their excellent customer service at the South Shore location even if it is a farther drive from my daughter's preschool because I appreciate their honesty and loyalty to the customer's goals and needs. Will definitely miss the 50% off but I enjoyed it while it lasted! Thanks Mik, Lacy, and Frank!

I used to shop at the old Lincoln Ave location. You had to ask someone for help to find anything. Same is true at the Central Ave store. The store is packed with merchandise. The other day I was walking around the store looking for wall clocks and bug bulbs, and a store person had to help me. BTW, the store people aren't there to watch for shoplifters. They're there to help you find stuff in a semi-unorganized store. What? Someone is going to steal a bag of anchor bolts? Maybe run out the door with a shop vac? And Yes, they make keys. Pagano's Hardware on Central Ave is in Neptune Plaza at Central Ave x Webster St. Parking in lot, and meter parking on street.

On the island we have 2 hardware stores and close by in war torn Oakland is a Home Depot. The…read morehardware store at South Shore is convenient if shopping at other stores in the center but the problem is I usually have to go to the other hardware store to actually find what I need. The other store....Encinal Hardware. Granted neither place is going to have the quantity and breath of products as Home Depot. Given that, I almost always find what I need at Encinal Hardware. Growing up I was in hardware stores all the time so I love the old style multi tiered nail bins among other things. The isles are narrow but navigatable and packed with just aboit everything you might need. The staff is as knowledgeable as any I've seen. I usually know exactly what I want but I have had some assistance with getting custom cut items in the back. I have also overheard staff helping other customers who have no clue. Staff is alway patient, polite and helpful. From now on even if I need something at Safeway or TJ's at South Shore I'll go out of my way to come here for hardware needs.

After decades of being a customer, I no longer shop at this store. I brought my kitchen knife to…read morethem for sharpening, and when I picked it up, it had been damaged in multiple ways, and an invoice which I had never seen before charged me 50% more than the cost I'd been quoted, for "stamped restoration," which I had not ordered, in addition to sharpening. First of all, the blade had been substantially reshaped from a chef's knife chopper to a slicing knife, which I had not asked for or wanted. Next, the bottom corner of the blade, which I had used frequently and did not want removed, had been shaved (or as I suspect, broken, and then shaved to cover up). He then also shaved down (badly) the handle at the base of the blade, and in the process, loosened a rivet that attached the handle to the knife so much that I could see space between them, and which is now impossible to thoroughly clean. My phone number and email address were on the knife handle and on the sheath, but nobody contacted me to ask my permission for, or apologize for, any of this. When I went back to the store, two employees (neither of whom expressed the slightest concern, and one of whom wasn't even polite) denied all responsibility, telling me the knife sharpener was a third party who wouldn't be back for a month, and they had no way to reach him. I entrusted a valued tool that I use daily to Encinal Hardware. I picked it up from Encinal Hardware. I paid Encinal Hardware. And I felt a little sick when I saw how it had been irretrievably damaged while in the care of Encinal Hardware. I was also charged for a "service" I didn't order, and which looked a lot more like an attempt to cover up a mistake instead of admitting it, and then - outrageously - bill me for the time spent doing that! And I didn't receive even an apology for any of that, much less any attempt at restitution. I don't do business with that kind of business "ethic."

It was a huge project and it took multiple 3 hr sessions with Chao to nail down the design. He was very knowledgeable with different brands and assisted me with finding cabinet accessories that I was looking for. He also suggested options to bring down the cost in the design when it went over budget. He is polite, patient, and quick to respond via email or phone. He was there to assist us during the installation when we needed extra parts or to reorder damaged cabinet. He took care of us throughout the entire process and we appreciate all he has done for us!

We visited several cabinet stores and most places only had MDF cabinets, but we wanted solid wood so that it would last longer. However, we didn't need fully custom cabinets. MDF cabinets are much cheaper around $5K for our project, but we ended up spending about $25K on ours, which were made in America. Kevin was able to lay out all the cabinets for us and discussed functionality. We're very happy with our lazy Susan corner cabinets, and having built in trash and microwave cabinets. He also helped us update the design after the demo too. Kevin's design was really helpful and we even used them for submitting our permit. I think a designer would have charged at least $5K, but I had a clear idea of what look and materials I wanted so and I was glad to commit the savings to better materials. 4 stars instead of 5 stars, because I think the management is very inflexible. We received the wrong size trash cans and I had to purchase my own, but did not receive even a $100 credit after spending so much there.
