I was staying in the area for work and I wanted a salad for dinner. I checked Yelp for the closets food locations. This cafe was close and their food from the pictures looked good. I got the Crispy Chicken Salad to go. When I picked it up, the waitress was super friendly. I didn't check her name tag but she had long brown hair and it was in a braid. This place looks small from the outside, but it's very spacious inside with many tables. My friend and I went on a Friday morning around 10am, and there was like a 10 minute wait. We were seated at a booth, and the waitress got our order quickly and the food also came out pretty fast. I got the breakfast burrito, which was pretty good. I would give it like a 4/5. I also ordered iced coffee with chocolate flavor, but I wasn't really impressed with that. Kind of a funky taste and not much of the chocolate flavor. This place is a throwaway mostly. It's in a shabby shopping center. It sticks out like a sore thumb. It was a tip off when they served me my drink in a plastic to go cup that this wasn't going to be great. But the photos looked good. I came here to order the Pot Roast melt sandwich. It came and had very little flavor and very little meat and was dry. The bread could've used more butter when they grilled it or maybe better bread. The pot roast looks like it was cooked a 2nd time before being put in the sandwich, which made it tough because it was now overcooked. The fries were generic freezer fries with nothing redeeming. The menu is huge and the music makes me feel like I'm in a diner but it's sold as a cafe, so I'm confused. Overall, a disappointment. This place is so much nicer and bigger than what you would think! I saw that it opened awhile ago but never got the chance to try it out until today! And I'm so glad I did! The restaurant was large and clean. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I got the veggies with hollandaise stacker; eggs, mushrooms, spinach, green peppers, onions scrambled with cheese and hollandaise sauce on top! The bf got the carne asada chilaquiles. He says they weren't spicy but they were to me. We usually try to split something or we tend to take leftovers home but not this time! It was too good and we were too hungry! Came here because I work nearby so I wanted to try out all the local mom-and-pop joints that the area has to offer. I love breakfast food anytime of the day and they seem to have any decent breakfast options that I really wanted to try so, I did. I got my food to go which is a different experience than sitting down is and the food was nothing to rant and rave about but it wasn't bad. The hostess was very friendly while I waited also. There is plenty of room to sit if someone is dining in rather than to go like I did. The prices here were a bit high for their offerings so I can't see myself making this a routine place for me to dinette however from time to time I could see myself coming here every blue moon. Super close to where I usually stay (literally a minute walk away) so it's very convenient to drop by and grab some yummy breakfast. They have various crepes, waffles and other sweet/savoury breakfast fare. I've tried their sandwiches and the crepes, and I was pretty impressed with the portions as well as the quality of the meal. Their veggie melt had generous portions of veggies and avocado and their breakfast potatoes tasted freshly made! My person has also said that he loves their coffee; personally, I think their iced coffee is the best I've ever had. One thing that I love about this place is that they have the friendliest service! We waited 30 mins to be seated when there was literally no one there! The food came on time, but after my mother and I were half way through our food we ordered a to go order. Why the fuck did it take them almost an hour to make that shit? I understand online orders come and y'all need to help them out. But if we ordered ahead of time why make us wait that long for it? There was no need for the manager to be such an ass towards us. He was rude and disrespectful. Breakfast date with my bae early sat morning. Greeted with a smile, no wait and fast service. The menu has so many delish looking items I wanted to order it all. I went with the chicken and spinach crepes. This is my go to breakfast so I can gauge if its good based on my other restaurant experiences. The crepes were so dayum bomb all I could think about was going the weekend after. Hollandaise sauce was perfect in consistency. The crepes were fluffy with a hint of sweetness and the chicken was tender. Spinach was perfect not overkill and the swiss cheese was good. I also had the potatoes which were also really good. The place is located in a shopping mall. Kinda weird for a breakfast spot, but it works and the parking is plenty. Pros: - It has a pretty big lot that's shared with El Super and other nearby businesses but you should still be able to find a spot relatively easily - It has a big, nice interior. There are tables for 2, 4 and larger groups - They have public restrooms that have handicap accessibility. Didn't see it so can't say much more - The service was pretty quick. 3 minutes for drinks, 7 for appetizer, and 8 for entrees - Tables and restaurant looked pretty clean Cons: - For a pancake and burger cafe they don't have a lot of pancakes, only 4 options. They have more crepes so should change their name to crepes and burgers - The food was good but that's just it, it wasn't a homerun or anything ---------- Our order: Strawberry lemonade, chocolate milk, trio appetizer, heavyweight cheeseburger, sirloin torta. Strawberry lemonade: Strawberry adds lots of sour and tart flavor, the lemonade tastes like normal lemonade. Might be lemonade mixed with fresh strawberries or blended with them and some ice. Chocolate milk: Feel like it has Hershey's syrup. Tastes okay but reminds me of the chocolate milk I used to get at school. Trip appetizer: Cheese sticks, chicken tenders and fries with ranch and marinara. Cheese sticks have a heavy cheese pull, thyme and rosemary seasoning, dense stick, gooey and goes well with marinara. The fries are super crunchy inside and really soft inside it's a weird contrast but tastes good. Heavy potato flavor, almost over powering. Tenders are crispy and have a thick batter, meat is kinda juicy, batter smells like shrimp. Sirloin Torta: Bread is soft, meat is seasoned okay and pretty juicy, onions are lightly sautéed. The egg adds flavor when the yolk runs through the sirloin and beans but the flavor combination doesn't really work for me. It might've been the beans but the only flavor I was tasting was the beans, the streak and eggs were really drowned out. I would NOT order this again. Heavyweight cheeseburger: A soft cheeseburger, like you didn't really have to bite it to get a piece. Burger itself tasted great, a standard cheeseburger. ---------- I've been here a few times and usually I go for more breakfast-y dishes. I think that's what they do best because the torta and cheeseburger didn't impress me too much. read more
