Mediocre food, ambiance, and service. Expensive prices! Tried the burger, which was okay, but they really could have given me more fries (anytime I can look at my plate and actually count the number of fries on it, I just don't feel like it's enough.) The wife and kids all got breakfast items. The eggs were dry and turkey sausage really isn't my thing, but their hash browns are really good (just plain, old fashioned, crispy hash browns done right.) Unfortunately, I don't think hash brown cravings alone will bring me back here anytime soon. read more

I left feeling disappointed. The food itself was decent, I would give it 3.5 to 4 stars. It is true, the portion size is about 1/2 of what you will get at a typical diner. The star deduction was for the waitress who assisted us. She was a bit aggressive in rushing us to put in an order. To make matters worse, she yanked the menus out of our hands. We couldn't help but to chuckle it off. On the front door there is a sign posted informing guest of cash and non-cash pricing. The unfortunate thing is, the pricing you see on the menu is at the cash pricing. The waitress was not able to tell us the price difference or surcharge for using a credit card. 2 stars for the food. Added an extra star because the service was good. I got the banana strawberry French toast combo and my husband got the biscuits and gravy. For starters, they cut one link of sausage in half length wise and called it two pieces. Are they that stingy on portions? Maybe their supply was running low? Our total before tip was $47, you'd think they could give us full pieces of sausage. My French toast was supposed to have cinnamon sugar on it, it didn't. It was also the most bland French toast I've ever had. Even the syrup couldn't help it. There was a weird taste in the hash browns and I couldn't finish them, even after adding ketchup. The eggs were fine. My husband's biscuits tasted like they were from a can and the gravy had such a watery consistency it was like they had thinned it. It was 9am on a Sunday so it's not like they had just finished the brunch madness and we're trying to make things stretch. Our table was very sticky where the condiments were. It's like whoever cleaned the tables was too short to reach all the way across, and to lazy to come in the booth clean it properly. There was also a woman yelling at someone (we thought a chef) about how an egg for another order wasn't cooked right. While we appreciate the attention to detail, and wanting to get orders correct, she didn't need to yell. The restaurant wasn't that busy and EVERYONE could hear her. The waitress who helped us was really nice and pleasant. Oh, and Diet Coke fans - something in their mix was off. It almost tasted like Diet Pepsi. It's unfortunate to give a low review because it's the 2nd time we've been and the food is pretty good; however, both times only 1 waitress has been available leading to longer than usual wait times for seating, getting necessary items, etc. Last time we went they served us chips with bean dip and salsa. The beans were so good that we went back this time exclusively to get a dish with beans only to be told they were out of beans. As a new restaurant, or a restaurant in general, when nearly half your menu has items served with beans, it seems like you'd make sure you had PLENTY of them. New biz took over the iHop building. I was surprised they only changed the inside walls, nothing else. The whole inside looked exactly the same. I first tried this place when we lived in Santa Ana and when I found out they opened this place close to where I live now I was excited. Prices are OK. I love they had a mini menu menudo but last time I went they took it off menu so that's a bummer hope they put it back on because I loved getting my spicy fix and then getting my sweet fix with a crepe. We were excited to try something new and boy was it a massive letdown. First off, the prices on the menu reflect a cash price. Yep, I said it, cash price. They accept credit cards but buyer beware. The credit card prices are not posted anywhere. Next up, for the number of people who work here, there is no reason why drinks should go unfilled but they do. We had to ask for our glasses to be refilled. With the number of people working here that should not have been needed. Let's follow that up with their food expediting. I was raised that you wait for everyone to have their food before eating. Normally this is not a problem because a table's food comes out all at one time but ours did not. One meal came out about 5 minutes after everyone else's. Now to the food. Absolutely nothing special about it. It needed a bit of seasoning on our part. We had the breakfast burrito, breakfast torta, the heavyweight burger, and a kids pancake meal. The hashbrowns on both the burrito and torta were far from cooked. They were limp and lukewarm. Zero crunch at all. There was also no difference between the burrito and the torta except one had a tortilla and one was on a torta. Portion wise if you decide to still eat here, get the torta. You get more food for the same amount of money. My husband said the burger was fine but again nothing special. We paid with cash because I did not want to deal with the unknown and this caused a second problem. Change owed to us was $4.25 and we only recieved $4. There is no reason to not refund an entire amount owed unless that is the places scheme to get people to pay in cash. If you value your time, energy, and money go up the road. There are plenty of other places to eat around the area that show prices up front while not hiding anything. Only thing that kept them from getting one star was taking my meal, the torta, off the bill. read more

Very mediocre restaurant. Food was just okay, nothing to ride home about. Our server was extremely slow and non attentive to things that we needed despite him only having 4 tables. My husband asked for butter for his pancakes and the servers response was "try your pancakes first." Like????????????? Who says that! You know those hole in wall restaurants that don't look promising but are, well that's the complete opposite of this place. Horrible food and even worse staff. When I first walked into the restaurant I was greeted by the horrible smell of whatever the HELL there cooking in there (possibly just frozen/microwaved foods). When you take a look at the menu you'll see the horrible options they've put together, the menu is so all over the place it'll have you thinking about what your gonna get for hours, Burgers or Wings for Breakfast? As soon as you take a look at the menu they will very miserably ask you what you want. When my food arrived it was cold, the bacon was as thin as paper and my eggs were over cooked to say the least. The worst part of it all is that they will bribe you to leave a good yelp review with a crepe. When I said no she told me that she spit in my food. Stopped in for breakfast at 0900. Waiter was courteous and for the most part was okay. ordered the waffle with strawberries and bananas but asked to hold the banana. When it was delivered it had no whipped cream, the waffle was hard and not warm. We had to ask for syrup!!! The second order was for country steak and eggs. Hash browns were cold, steak was barely warm. The menu's prices were so small it was very hard to read (especially for seniors). Trust me when I say no one in there cares haha like they just look at you like you are wasting their time and I don't think it dawns on any of the workers in there that maybe a simple "I'm so sorry you had to wait or let me find out what's going on" with a smile could possibly make someone who is paying to eat at the place of your work could help. But what the heck do I know ? This place seems to be doing well right ? ! Maybe it's just me ?!! One star off for 4% Non Cash Fee (using a credit/debit card), which they didn't let me know of, even after picking up my card. If it's listed on the menu, I didn't notice it. No more stars off, but, they need to get more servers, I only saw two on Saturday morning. They don't have real maple syrup, and they don't have a coffee carafe. As for the good...The food is delicious! And they have Nopales! Try finding that in even a regular Mexican restaurant! I had been at this location, when it was an IHOP, but only went once, because it smelled pretty badly of sewer. During Covid, I felt sorry for the place, it looked abandoned, and when I saw that it was becoming a different cafe, I couldn't wait to try it. So, yes, I'm quite disappointed. Went on Saturday for brunch. There was a bit of a line but we were told 15 minutes and there were a lot of empty tables so we decide to wait. It was about 45 minutes before we were seated. We decided to give some slack because they just opened and I'm sure everyone is still learning. We placed our order and it came out in a reasonable time but it was just OK at best. My chorizo torta was very bland and I couldn't even taste the chorizo in it and the breakfast burrito was small and soggy. The food definitely looked better than it tasted. We stopped in this morning to try out this brand new restaurant. It took over the old iHop building. We were seated right away and our drinks came out pretty quickly. We started with a complimentary plate of homemade chips, beans and salsa. The green salsa is amazing and I love homemade chips, so this was a real treat. My husband ordered the fruit and oatmeal breakfast. I ordered the Mexican platter. Oatmeal was very good. Fruit was fresh. The Mexican platter had three bean tacos topped with a slightly sweet chipotle sauce, carne asada and a side of rice. The carne asada was very flavorful. I would definitely order this again. Since it was my husband's birthday we finished with the concha French toast. It was soooo good. Topped with strawberries, bananas, Nutella and whipped cream. The building is very clean and the staff is awesome. They will be opening another location in orange soon. I can't wait to try that one when they do!
