Hello friends! Today, I discovered a hidden gem in Fullerton, CA, called Palapas Que Huevos (PQH). Have you ever woken up feeling a bit groggy and needed that extra boost to kickstart your day on a positive note? I think I've found the solution at PQH. We were welcomed by the warm smile of Jennifer, who was incredibly helpful throughout our wonderful experience. So, where should I start? We kicked things off with the Cafe de Olla, which was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. It really gave me the jolt I needed! Seriously, you must order that first. Next, we tried the "Los Chilaquiles" with extra eggs and carnitas, along with the "Trio Sopesitos" combo. Can you believe the generous portions we received? Wow! Be careful with your choices because I left feeling stuffed and still had to take some home! Trust me, the menu doesn't do justice to the portion sizes. Don't let the prices mislead you! As you can see, I was thoroughly impressed not just with the food but also with the fresh, made-to-order meals no pre-made dishes here. I also appreciated our hostess Jennifer for being so humble and friendly when we inquired about the menu details. Oooooooh this place hits!!! I am down bad for wet burritos, and put a chili relleno in there- oof I am yours. We also got some chips and guac, omg yum. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic with so much flavor. Great portions too! Our server was very sweet and helpful in making sure we could have what we wanted but vegetarian style. There is a cute outdoor patio as well as indoor seating, and a big parking lot for the restaurants in the center. Great spot for Mexican food! read more

This place was pretty good overall, and honestly the hype wasn't far-fetched. The birria had really good flavor and we genuinely enjoyed the food. The customer service was also great -- she was super friendly, personable, and made us feel welcomed. I do feel a little bad leaving this review because it could have honestly been a fluke or an off day. That being said, both my husband and I got sick afterward, and the birria was the one thing we both shared. I have a pretty strong stomach and rarely get sick from food, so it really stood out to me. My husband only had a couple of bites and still didn't feel well afterward. Aside from that experience, the food itself did taste good, which is why I'm still giving 3 stars. read more

Ive been a loyal customer for the past two months. I come every Tuesday for taco Tuesday. I even decided to order something new a couple days ago which was the torta ahogada. It tasted so good i went back today and ordered one togo. Once i got home there was no avocado. I called and informed the lady who took my order and she said they do not come with avocado. I had my husband tell her in Spanish that the menu says it does. She told my husband what does she want me to do? I told her perhaps next time she can provide me with a discount. She then said if i don't go back today that she cannot do anything about it and also said that my complaint was probably a scam. Keep in mind i live in La Habra. Gas there and back is just not worth it. Very disappointing. read more

Palapas Que Huevos is a good spot to try out. I loved the customer service and did enjoy my meal. One thing I will say is the asada wont be everyone's favorite. It's tough to chew and not the greatest. But everything else we ordered was tasty! The flan was delicious and perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. Breakfast is served ALL DAY! Presentation was great, service was outstanding. Food was lack luster. We had the chili relleno, and chilaquiles, added extra eggs and pork carnitas. Salsas where fire! The carnitas were dry, reheated, tough to get down. The cheese in my relleno, was almost tofu consistency??? Zero melt. Everything we tried was incredibly delicious and packed with flavor . The quesabirria tacos and green chilaquiles are a must -- absolutely worth it. What really made the experience stand out was Alma, our waitress. Her service was outstanding and she went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. She truly elevated the whole experience. I was very disappointed. I used to always come here for the tacos and they never disappointed. I think it's under a new management because the tacos were not good. The carne asada was dry and overcooked. I got beans and rice and rice was also dry. My sister got the chicken nachos and we shared and the chips and chicken were very greasy , I had a really bad stomachache afterwards. I wouldn't come here again: the only good thing was the cashier lady who was really nice but they took 30 min for our food. Mind you there was no one there and I've never waited that long for my order. Sad to say because I used to love coming here but not coming here again. read more

The staff was friendly and welcoming but only 1 waitress working for entire duration of our food. Luckily it wasn't crazy busy but food did take a while. Good portions in every plate. The food was decent and different. They have a chilaquiles torta, birria or poblano plate. Burrito had good rice and well-seasoned carne asada. Horchata was refillable as well as sweet. My nose still feels runny from the salsa verde. The ceviche was more like shrimp cocktail, which was also on the menu. Food was amazing, diced potatoes may need some seasoning. Service/kitchen may need some work. My meal did not come w/ potatoes and they gave me diced potatoes instead of my over-easy eggs. When I mentioned where my eggs were, they took the plate back & added my eggs. Ordered a horchata & they gave us Jamaica instead. They still gave us the horchata after we said something. They forgot to bring us tortillas and took 20 minutes for dessert to come out. This place used to be a taco joint that we used to frequent often when it first opened. We were craving chilaquiles and this spot came up. They have a good variety of chilaquiles options: different sauces and proteins. We got the chilaquiles verdes cremosos with carnitas and the poblano breakfast. Poblanos are mildly spicy but full of flavor. They were served over a corn tamal that was so delicious and reminded me of the corn tamales from my little town in Mexico (Guerrero state). These tamales don't have any filling but are so delicious! Their beans were tasty as well. They are very generous with the protein. We also tried their cafe de olla. Loved the spices on it but it was a little too sweet for my taste. My husband asked to top his with regular coffee and that's how he fixed that problem. Server kept checking on us and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a great place to visit if you're craving chilaquiles. If you're hangover, I suggest the menudo, although I haven't tried it. They also offer alcoholic beverages. read more

Big shout-out to our server, Jessica, who was super friendly, welcoming, and made an excellent recommendation--the Ribeye Queso Fundido. That dish was next-level... rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-order. We started with the chips and guac, which were outstanding--fresh, creamy, and seasoned just right. My wife had the carnitas, and I went with the asada tacos for Taco Tuesday. Can't beat $2 tacos--especially when they're this good. Perfectly grilled, simple, and flavorful. There chips bad like they've been sitting out all day. Tacos horrid like shi my 1 yr old could honestly make better ones. The huevos divorciados bad tastes like it came out of a frozen bag. Their pancakes where actually phenomenal d Their service wasn't horrible it when told we would like to send it back and get something else they didn't even do that. Is what it is we won't go back. This is my favorite Mexican food brunch spot in OC! I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp. I absolutely love love LOVE their chilaquiles a la Diabla with some mimosas on the side. It's so hard finding a place that serves SPICY chilaquiles and their a la Diabla ones are perfect for people like me who love SPICY food. Their customer service is amazing too! Every time I've gone with my boyfriend the waiters are all extremely friendly and do an amazing job. I bragged about this place to my mom and finally had time to take her Sunday morning and she absolutely loved the food and service. After seeing so many good reviews about this place I was excited to try it out. I was greeted with a smile. The server was attentive. The place was empty but the server stated she had just gotten over a rush. When I received my food I was very disappointed. The meat was tough and had no flavor. It tastes like it was reheated in a microwave. It had a lot of fat. My tortillas were hard. After receiving my bill I noticed that I was charged different than what the menu stated. I questioned the server about it and she said I could call or come back the following day to speak to a manager as she was alone. I definitely will not be returning to this place. I decided to try the place next door to take food home and the same thing happened. I was charged a different amount than what was stated on the menu. I definitely will be contacting weights and measures on the whole business complex as it seems they are scamming people. If you don't pay attention to your bill you would never know. Came on my lunch with coworkers and ordered the breakfast burrito with NO beans. The breakfast burrito I got was not only with beans inside, but it was so oily it dripped when I picked it up. The server offered a discount and big shocker. It was 2 dollars off. You did offer to remake the burrito but my coworkers had all received their food and I didn't want the to wait. I have to say this place is amazing. My wife and I come to eat lunch or dinner each time we are in town visiting our daughter. Their Carne Asada has one of the best seasonings I've had at a Mexican Restaurant. The flavors on the tacos and nachos are amazing. Oh and my wife loves their shrimp tacos, specifically El Gobernador which the tortilla is crispy and the seasoning on the shrimp is amazing. The Sopes are some of the tastiest Sopes we've had. The portions are perfect and enough to get someone full. The place is clean, fresh and the staff is very friendly. Oh the chile is spicy just like it should be for those who love hot and spicy chile. The only thing I wish they had was the selection for fountain drinks but that is not a deal breaker for me to stop going there I'm pretty sure I can live with their bottled drinks and their homemade Mexican "Agua Fresca" I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and we were not disappointed. We have wanted to stop in for a while now and I'm glad we did. I tried the steak quesito palapa and baja fish taco. Both were amazing. My husband ordered the birria taco plate with rice, beans and consommé. The flavors were spot on and the food presentation was so pretty. Stephanie, our server, took great care of us. We were very excited to try Palapa's Tacos yesterday, but what should have been a fun outing, celebrating a birthday, turned into an extremely frustrating experience due to misleading pricing and lack of transparency. When we arrived, the server mentioned they had unlimited mimosas, and my daughter specifically responded that was the reason we came. Once seated, we asked about flavors, the server listed multiple options and brought the one requested without explaining any restrictions. Naturally, when my daughter ordered additional mimosas (she had five total), we assumed they were part of the unlimited special that had been advertised. The menu advertises "Unlimited Mimosas" with a picture showing multiple flavors next to it, which ultimately became very misleading. When the bill arrived, she was charged for each mimosa individually. The server then claimed that the unlimited offer only applied to orange mimosas and that my daughter never requested "unlimited." At no point was this restriction mentioned, and the menu itself is very misleading. To make matters worse, we noticed there were two different menus with two different prices. One menu listed an item at $16, while another listed the exact same item at $19. That inconsistency is unacceptable and feels deceptive, leaving us not knowing what we were actually being charged. To top it off, we were hit with an automatic 20% gratuity when the menu clearly states 18%. This combination of misleading menu design, unclear policies, and inconsistent pricing feels like a bait-and-switch. While the food itself was ok, the billing practices left us feeling ripped off and extremely disappointed. We cannot recommend this restaurant until management fixes these issues and starts being honest with customers about pricing. We will not be returning! read more

I came here for my sisters 21st birthday because she mentioned seeing it on tiktok and said they have bottomless mimosas for only $25. I ordered 5 mimosas. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill to see that I was charged $9 per mimosa. After asking the waitress about it she said that the bottomless mimosas were only for the "orange" mimosas and that she charged me for the à la carte mimosas. After trying to understand what she was talking about since i met the ADVERTISED bottomless mimosas of being one person, ordering food and ordering it all within an hour and a half; she said that i had ordered other flavors and that they were not included in the bottomless. WELL NO DUH I ORDERED OTHER FLAVORS. There is literally a photo of the different mimosa flavors advertised next to the bottomless mimosas. She did not mention anything like this when i had ordered the drinks. I can't even call it misleading, it's straight up THEFT. Some food prices on the menu did not match up to what was being charged. Not only that but she charged us a 20% automatic gratuity for party of 7 even though on the menu it said it'd be 18%. After discussing, it just felt like the place and workers were money hungry and had me think that's the reason she didn't mention the bottomless mimosas since charging for each would be more money in her pocket. My sister, the birthday girl, didn't even get her food until everyone was almost finished eating. Overall it was a bad experience. I would rather go to a nice expensive restaurant where there is transparency about what is being charged than to be lied to and basically stolen from. This was my first time coming to this restaurant. I was excited to try their food and decided to order the birria ramen plate. When my food arrived and I began to eat, my food didn't taste good. There was no flavor and there were barely even any noodles in the bowl. I went with my family and we noticed that there would be a gratuity charge, 18%. When I went to pay my bill it was marked at 20%. When I asked for it to be given back they couldn't give it back on my card. It was very empty when we went in, but the restrooms were very dirty. The tables and booth were also dirty . When asking to speak to the manager, no manager was present. I wouldn't recommend.
