Assemblers "no showed" twice. Showed up third time. Couldn't test their work assembling the adult trike because the tires weren't inflated. They accepted a nice tip and left. The next day, after I inflated the tires I discovered the brakes don't work, the shifter doesn't work, and the seat is loose. No telling what else is assembled improperly since the trike isn't rideable. read more

We have now used Load Up twice. Both times we had the same guy come and pick up the items. His name is Mike and he is super nice. They are still wearing masks re: Covid-per their protocol. The first time we used them, I had scheduled pick up of a reclining sofa that was leather, so I felt like it was quite heavy and I was shocked when Mike showed up by himself to load it up and transport it. I honestly don't know how he did it, but he did it, and did not hurt himself and did a great job ......he was in and out of here very quickly . He also arrived on time which I think is huge. The second time was for an upright freezer that had broken and had been sitting in the laundry room, taking up space. I did everything online in terms of ordering, paying and telling them what I needed picked up. They arrived within the window of time that I chose and also contacted me to let me know when they were on their way and gave me a 30 minute heads up on arrival. Again, I was thinking it would take more than one person to load something like an upright freezer into a pick up truck, but it was Mike that came and he was able to push it out and then put it on a dolly to get it out to the truck and then get it up into the truck . My husband was kind of on standby in case of a unexpected problem but he has some broken vertebrae from a motor vehicle accident and is not supposed to lift anything. Mika assured him that it wouldn't be a problem and that he could handle it. Sure enough there went the freezer into the truck. Mike is not a huge guy but obviously understands ergonomics and is more than capable. I love the fact that I can put in what I want picked up and I get a price estimate right away can pay for it and choose the date and essentially the time that I'd like it picked up . We highly recommend LOAD UP, and I know we will be using them again! read more

This could easily be a one-time issue, but I can't possibly recommend this company. For one thing, they showed up 3 1/2 hours late without notifying me that this was happening. To add insult to injury, I've also had to dispute charges because I was charged $114 two times. Rather than call me to get information, this turned into an email fest back and forth searching for a resolution. The number listed in the email signature would ring, but would go unanswered, and eventually go silent. This is just not worth the hassle. Again, this may be just a stroke of misfortune in this one specific case, but there's no way I can recommend it based on my experience. read more

Very easy to set up an order online. The driver and pick-up professional, Luis, was excellent to work with--very friendly, attentive, and efficient. The only snafu was in the scheduling--the original time for pick up came and went, with little communication from the company. However, I was eventually able to talk to Luis, and arranged for an alternative pick up time at 9am the next day. And sure enough, Luis was on site a little after 9am the next day, and the entire loading process went smoothly. read more

I cannot tell you how terrible LoadUp is. A pick up was scheduled for the return of a bed foundation for Friday, June 16. I advised them in advance that they would not be able to communicate through my cell phone on that day prior to 5:00 p.m., but did provide an alternative landline number (advising them that it was a landline) if they needed to contact us prior to 5:00 p.m. After 5:00 on that day I discovered that they phoned the cell line not less than four times. They also used multple cell lines to contact us, making it unclear to which message(s) we should respond. We also received a text message to call them. We did. It went straight to voice mail, and despite leaving a message, the call was never returned, Also, no one showed up that day, and we were never given notice that they would not show up. The pre-arranged pick up was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. We had someone present throughout and never heard from anyone. The pickup was then rescheduled for Tuesday, June 20 for the same time period. Again, we cautioned them that the cell phone would not be available prior to 5:00 p.m., but that someone would be present during the entire window period they established at the landline provided and at the location for pickup. I still received multiple messages from LoadUp asking me to reschedule several times, even though it was scheduled. On Tuesday, June 20 they again tried to contact us via the cell phone when they knew they could not reach me. The individual driver, John, to his credit did call the landline. He did show up. He did pick up the frame. He did not leave us a receipt. I received two more messages today from LoadUp to reschedule the service, despite communicating with them previously to tell them that the foundation was picked up, but that they failed to leave us a receipt to request a refund from the company for whom the bed foundation was picked up. They seem to be completely incapable of communicating properly, even within their own company, and in keeping proper records. I would never recommend this company to anyone in good conscience. read more

We requested a clothing donation pick up after the charity drive our office held was more successful than we anticipated. The process looked fairly simple. I uploaded photos of the boxes, picked a date a couple weeks in advance, and they charged my card. I immediately requested a COI that matched what our property management requires for vendors to be allowed access to our building and freight elevator for loading. Over the course of the past couple weeks, I have heard "let me look into that" from multiple people. Each time they emailed, I'd get what I can only assume is an auto-generated "how did we do?" email despite the issue not being resolved. I have had to send follow ups almost every time because it doesn't sound like anyone in their team is communicating with each other, tracking progress, or actually following up unless I do. I've forwarded them the building's requirements multiple times. They've submitted two COIs that ignored the instructions (not including the basic one that's available as soon as you book). After two weeks of empty responses and a final deadline/ultimatum, I requested a refund. They had the AUDACITY to issue us a partial refund. The only thing they've done is give me the run around and disregard the instructions I attached, screenshot, and copied into multiple emails doing my darnedest to get them the information in some way that wouldn't be ignored. So once again I went above and beyond trying to figure out what is going on. They sent me a link to their terms. I sent them screen shots of their terms. They sent me a different paragraph. I attached a weeks old email with time stamps. They conceded. So much wasted time. read more

Alejandro was great. They arrived within 2 days of booking... no extended wait time like others quoted me! The price was totally reasonable, too. They were very fast and efficient in loading up my huge couch. They kept in constant contact with me so I could plan my day. The only suggestion which I just made to LoadUp great customer service is, to online website, specify that they contract with local companies so that when they arrive in an unmarked truck, the customer knows it's really LoadUp and that though contracted, the haulers have the same recycling philosophy as specified on the website. Guys took everything i was trashing downstairs and left it on the sidewalk while they broke the furniture down to make it all fit. The amount of trash and junk requested was way more than they could carry and they should not have been given this job with their limited amount of space. My buildings operations team was pissed they were breaking wood and leaving bits and pieces of things on the sidewalk, this is also a city violation and they are lucky the police did not get involved. This was highly unprofessional and will not be using LoadUp ever again. Bad assessment of the amount of trash we had, terrible people showed up who were hard to comprehend and communicate with, they did not listen to instruction and did things on their own accord without asking. LoadUp was one of the easiest websites to use and it was a very good experience all together. Great time frames to choose from when deciding on when you want them at your place for junk removal. We were on the website on a Sunday, and asked for the very next day for pick-up of our old furniture - Monday morning between 8 am and noon. Monday morning, we received a text stating the time when the driver would arrive for pick-up, and sure enough - he was there - within the time frame. Actually there were 3 crew/team members that showed, although only two were actually needed in lifting and removing the furniture. And lickety-split, they were done! Offered them bottled water (which they greatly accepted) and sadly didn't have much for a tip, but they seemed pleased to have gotten one anyway. My 70+ year old mother was looking to get a bunch of old paint cans removed and was able to schedule the service online. She didn't realize they were only picking up one can and charging her $100. I guess shame on her for not realizing when she was booking, but seriously $100 to collect paint you'd expect they were getting at least a dozen She called an hour after scheduling them to explain that she had a dozen paint cans and they told her it would be several hundred dollars so she said she wanted to cancel and they tried to intimidate her into not cancelling. She didn't back down and cancelled anyway and now they are charging a 20% cancellation fee. Again, she called an hour after booking. I'm not saying they were deliberately picking on the elderly but honestly who has - and actually enforces - a zero tolerance cancellation policy when your taking online bookings. I hope they enjoy their $20 and maybe one day they'll learn that you don't get rich by screwing one customer at a time. You do a good job and treat people right and your business grows much faster. I'm guessing this is likely some cookie cutter trash franchise where some poor entrepreneur gets tricked into buying a logo and a brand from the parent company and then is forced to behave this way just to get their investment back. Find a small local guy instead. Much better and much more reasonable every time. Following up, I wanted to see where my mother went wrong so I went through the process to book service and no where does it tell me there is a cancellation fee or even a suggestion of one. Not until you get to the very end and have entered your credit card info do you see the "Book Order" button. And then, right above that is a tiny checkbox that says what we all get tricked into "I agree to LoadUps terms of service." Then about halfway down a long long legalese laden page are the cancellation policy terms. Yes, of course we all read and understand those. Thanks. Classic move by a garbage company. Thanks for the response. I love the hollow request of "how can I make this right?" Just give my mother a refund. pretty simple.
