Where can you go and buy 2 lobsters with sides for under $50.00? This place steams their lobsters in seawater which totally changes the flavor profile. Lobster Cove 9-7-25 We had to stop by here for a Lobster Roll. This place is not fancy but its clean and the waitresses are friendly. They are on the ball with service and checking up on you. We ordered two Big Huge Lobster Rolls which came with Fries and Cole Slaw. Our food came out fast and the Lobster Roll was huge, very good and tasty. The Fries and Cole Slaw were also good. All our food was hot and plenty of it. When we were done, we were full. They do have an outside and patio area to eat in if you want. The view of the Beach out the front is good. One of the few places near the York beaches that has its own parking lot! Hallelujah! If you've ever ventured to try parking along the beach during the summer to get a bit to eat, you know how much this is a life saver! We came by for lunch around 12pm and we were able to snag a table upstairs and get a parking spot! We had an ocean view while we ate our delicious food and drank our cocktails. We ordered the fried clam straps, lobster roll, bacon wrapped scallops, and a cup of chowder. I also got an espresso martini, which was delectable. On our very first trip to Maine (!), we wandered into Lobster Cove for a late lunch after visiting Nubble Lighthouse, and what a gem we found. We kicked things off with golden fried mushrooms in a light, crispy batter, paired with a creamy horseradish dipping sauce that packed just the right punch. Next came the essential New England clam chowder, easily one of the best I've ever tasted. And for the main event: three warm, buttery lobster rolls, served with fries, coleslaw, and a classic pickle on the side. A couple sodas and an iced tea topped off our feast. Ruby, our server, was attentive and friendly without hovering, and the dining room was full of light, with big windows offering beautiful views. There's a glitch with table service speeds. But, you're on summer vacation in York so you have to tolerate whatever you get if you choose to go out to eat. I saw more servers than sat tables yet, everyone was standing around & eventually our server emerged many minutes later from a service area, but with only a greeting. I'm not sure why the 5 idle servers didn't a) greet and take drinks or b) absorb the food run that occupied our server. Great menu variety. Under seasoned chix sandwich. Chowder crackers were stale. Chowder was a hard "average". Server was very nice and their blueberry pie is not to be missed! read more

The staff was very friendly and the views from the upstairs are wonderful. That said, our food was mediocre at best. Four of the 5 of us had broiled haddock - the cracker topping was soggy, the fish was barely lukewarm and the sandwich and dinner portion were the same size but the dinner portion was $10 more. One person in my party, complained that their fish was cold. The waitress brought it back moments later and had clearly been microwaved. Broiled haddock is a Maine staple something I look forward to every time I come to visit. As dishes go it's a simple one to prepare, which made it even more disappointing that this fish was so terrible. There are many other places in Maine to get better seafood. I came here on 04/29/2025 for lunch with my Mom--her choice. We came during the early afternoon. We were greeted by a young man & asked if we wanted to sit outside in the enclosed dinning area or inside, Mom choice inside. We had a great view of the ocean. She never told us her name but soon came over to great us after being seated & to take a drink order. I ended up ordering a cup of lobster bisque ($8.00) to start with which was good (5 stars) & just the right size since I was ordering an entree. I also got potato skins that were a little pricey ($12.00) for an appetizer & old potatoes. (3 stars due to price) I had needed a little extra time deciding on what to order. I had asked how much the lobster roll was ($33.00) which I found to be very pricey but that is what I wanted so I went with it. It was O.K. But I've had better. (3 stars) The hot dog roll was toasted nicely but the meat was chewy & had a nice sweetness to it. I didn't like the chewy part & ended up with lobster meat stuck in my teeth, which isn't something that happens. Thank God that I had some dental floss on me...lol Mom had the Scallop roll $19 with Onion rings $3.00 sub which she liked & cleared her plate. Elaina must of got busy because we didn't see her much after our meals were delivered which by the way took way too long to come out. Quick, easy entrees so we didn't understand why it took so long to get to us. No apology on the long wait. She never came back right away to make sure everything was O.K. or to see if we needed anything else. A table next to us came in after us & got their meals after us & she had went to them to see how their meals were & take away their plates then asked us if we were done. I had to ask for the bill. I was already annoyed @ this point because we had been done with our meals for about 15 minutes before she was near by for us to ask for the bill. I mentioned how we were wondering where our food was when she brought it out...never said sorry. I had also made a comment how we had been ready for a while for our bill...no apology or explanation. We didn't see her much so I'm guessing she didn't have many tables inside & maybe she had tables upstairs or outside on the patio or maybe she just can't handle a couple of tables? IDK, but the service started out good then went to poop, unfortunately that affected her tip. I felt bad but tipping is based on service where we come from, so sorry Elaina for not getting a bigger tip. Even if we got an apology for the long waits I may have tipped more. The parking lot is very small & tight so enter & park with caution. There are parking spots across the street next to the beach rocks if you don't like the crammed feeling. I think this place for me is a one time & done. I don't see myself coming back here when there are a lot more seafood restaurants in the area to try out. The portion of broiled haddock for $28 was so small about the size of a deck of cards and 1/2 inch thick, maybe less than one ounce. The baked potato was black inside, was replaced , cole slaw was good and large. Service was average. View was fabulous. First off... no ocean view unless you're seated upstairs, which we weren't! It's across the street from the water. The waiter was a foreigner, who barely spoke English and was very lazy and rude!! I got scallops.. came with corn (asparagus was an upcharge). It was cold, overgrown and chewy! The baked potato was hard! The scallops came in a wine sauce, very few of them too, and I felt sick all day after! My husband got a lobster roll, smallest ever seen, with fries. We frequent the Lobster Cove every summer. It is a convenient location from where we live. Most of the time, the meal and service is good. Although this year, my husband and I had dinner when they first opened (2026). It was very busy so we were unable to sit upstair. The waitress appeared to be new,and taking our order on a hand held device, which I believe is something new this year. The food took forever. My husband and I both had a hamburger to be cooked medium. The hamburgers were undercooked, not hot and the roll fell apart as we were eating it. The rolls were not fresh. When we asked for ketchup, it came when we were half way through our meal. No, we didn't complain. We paid our bill and even left a tip, but if it happens again, we will speak up. read more

I will start this as I always do and say that I do not give out five stars, unless I am really blown away. I have come to this place a few times and I've always been happy with the service and very happy with the food. Sitting upstairs you have a great view of the ocean and it was a lovely place to hang out while you eat. They have a delicious fisherman's platter. My better half had a whole lobster and was very satisfied. If you are looking for a place to get the full seafood Maine experience this is a great spot to do it. My family and i ended up here 3 times on our trip since we were within walking distance and the food was that good. We sat outside on the picnic benches each time with a nice view of the ocean. The lobster and lobster roles were excellent, as was the summer salad and crab cakes. What really stole the show for us however was actually the fried haddock. Clam chowder was watery. The lobster bisque was thick, clearly had flour added to it, there were still globs of it. The seafood casserole was 99% fish and had two measly shrimp and one scallop. The Caesar salad was not dressed with Caesar dressing. It was zesty Italian. You can do better for the money. This was a pleasant surprise. Located on Long Sands Beach in York, with their own parking lot and options to eat inside or out, with great views of the beach. We were here for lunch and had a nice table outside, the second floor bar inside has nice big windows and a more non obstructed view than the outside patio. We found the service to be friendly with food arriving promptly from the kitchen. Prices were reasonable, especially given the cost of lobster lately. I was trying to decide whether to go with lobster bisque or clam chowder, and our waitress brought a small sample of both to help me decide. They were both tasty, but I opted for the bisque. I thought it was very good, but keep in mind this is completely smooth, and has no chunks of lobster. The crab cakes were also tasty, and had a fair amount of crab filling. Our only disappointment was our cocktail, it was a tropical punch served in a plastic pail, and was advertised as two drinks, but it had virtually no discernible alcohol and was too sweet for my palate. I would say hard pass on that drink option. If you are in the area and are looking for a casual bite, I would give them a try. read more
